  1. We have received our mission but have not opened it yet. I just wanted to post that I got so our person knows we did get it. We will open it tomorrow and take pics and post all the goodies. I know it is good stuff because the envelope is so pretty. Ya know when you just have one of those weeks....where you can have no fun!
  2. I got my turtles today! WOW! They are beautiful! Thank you TCP so much for the extra special little gifts, they are beautiful too. tsun good work keep the designs coming!
  3. WOOHOO!! We got one today! Thanks so much Geo-Lep! Here is our log. It is beautiful! Pictures to follow soon. :)
  4. I would think the coin is more of a collection piece rather than a traveler. Very cool! I like it it is very fitting for the coin to have the 2 tracking numbers since he is a reviewer and a player. Dual personalities, dual tracking. I bet it has two very cool icons also!
  5. Woot! Got my shipping notice. So rest assured to my trade people that are patiently awaiting their turtles. They are on the way with a short layover at my house and then on to you!
  6. We are in....I just ordered additional racers for the kids to race also. FUN FUN FUN! :anitongue: There are 40 hippie buses left....
  7. I agree there are so many more than 3 people to nominate! I certainly do not want to offend anyone by not mentioning their name... But here it goes: MamaCache - She is a great friend, I love working and talking with her. She will go to bat for you and be there when you just have to complain. AtlantaGal - After you get through her tough exterior she is a great person who does/has done more for the coin community than most people know. CachingCoins - Sandy is just an all around great person. We are lucky enough to live by her and get to attend event with them. She is very caring and giving. These are the 3 people for this week....I put all the names of people I wanted to nominate into a basket (13 total) and each of my daughters picked a name this week, so that is how I came with these 3 names. We will be on the lookout for the next thread. Thank you tsun! You should be nominated everyday, you are a great person! That is a beautiful coin also!
  8. But that would sure be ironic Sure would be. One knows the Truth and one is a figure-head of a cult.
  9. I like how this project is coming together and I love the story. I am keeping an eye out for the final price and info. But at the current pricing estimate and with them in a set of 3, we would buy 2 sets.
  10. I would guess the prices are in NZD not USD. So can only kiwis buy from trademe?
  11. Congrats PF!! Congrats to all the other recent finders. Remember Mr Little Green Man to come south and visit!
  12. Maybe someone just wanted to help you out and send you a MO out of the blue. They could have signed it with a made up name to be anonymous. Or you could just wait for one of the eBay or other orders you have to not pay and then when you ask them about it or when they ask where the coins are you can figure it out.
  13. Wow Jim people actually love you! It is a whole new you! I hope you do come back for more because I REALLY want some BN beans! I have regrets.
  14. C'mon Andrea...you've been here long enough to have a good idea of who most...if not all...of them are! Ahhhh man.....its me right? Sheesh I knew I was getting the cold shoulder from you!
  15. Thank you. That is/was my only beef with this whole re-minting thing. Be upfront and honest in your intentions. I certainly hope other vendors/minters/sellers see that too and follow those practices. Let your customers know what to expect.
  16. Personally designed a coin ~ DONE Sent to mint ~ DONE (direct & through a vendor) Pays for the tariff (& the coins) ~ DONE Receives the coins in hand ~ DONE Begins a sale after calculating all the cost involved ~ DONE Jim I think FAR more people here on this forum including some of those who have weighed in on this debate to re-mint or not have made coins and do understand the costs involved and how the process of coin minting and sales work. So now that I have made my qualifications known and have passed the litmus test I will tell you how I feel about re-minting. I am not totally against re-minting it has a time and place. The thing I have the biggest problem with is how it is presented. If it is said we have these coins and if they sell out and we have demand we will mint more....great fine everyone is informed and all is well. Have a sale, sell out and mint more till the cows come home. If it is said we have 250 of these and they are for sale now. Then after a day or a week they sell out and the vendor/designer/seller has a demand for more they come back and say oh by the way we are re-minting. That is a problem for me. The buyer IMO should not be the one to have to ask or the one to take the gamble, the vendor/designer/seller should be the risk taker.
  17. Wow the BN looks GREAT! Very nice beans everyone. Now I wish we would have stayed in the group and did ours again in BN. I will have to make sure to add some BN beans to my bean collection!
  18. Yep we noticed that as well. It was a bright spot for my husband as we had 12 little girls piled on the living room floor in their PJ's all excited and screaming all night about HSM2. Our oldest daughter even mentioned it the next morning after the girls finally awoke from their "Troy & Chad are so cute" sweet dreams. Then we all checked it out more closely as we watched the movie again on Saturday and Sunday nights! Yep similar color scheme and set up. :D
  19. I guess I am wishy-washy. I like both. Sometimes I am impulsive and have spent all my coin budget when reservations come due and then I end up giving up a coin I wanted and at the same time I don't like having all my money out and tied up. But I also like reservation when I can make them and then budget the coin money in. That way I know I will get a coin and I am happy. On the other hand I want to pay for coins upfront that I really rally want so I know I have them and because I really want the coin so much I really do not care how that my money is tied up. So the best thing I think is to do both. Take reservations with out money and invoice when it gets closer and also take pre-sales. Then everyone can have the best of both worlds.
  20. My children have 1 account that they share. They own several geocoins they they picked out and wanted to release and even have some in a geocoin race. They have just designed their own siggy item and they will start soon dropping those in caches. They log their own finds and sign their own names to logs. The caches they have hidden they picked the name and on some of them they designed and did the container camo on their own. We pick the spots and get the permission to hide the caches. Anytime is right for children to get accounts. If we had known about this when they were born I would have opened each one an account on their birth day. That would have been neat. But for right now the 3 of them are a team and share the one account.
  21. ooooOOOOOhhhhHHH....I am so excited! Thanks for the update TCP and tsun!
  22. Yep. The fact is that if 300 coins were made and sold out in minutes well then there are still 300 coins in the market. People who missed out can trade, purchase on the secondary market...whatever. It does not necessarily warrant a post sale re-mint that is announced the same day or the same week of the coin sell out. I am not an old-timer but like TMA I am a middle-timer. But when we first started collecting there was times when a coin was announced the sold out before I ever even it was available, so for those coins I traded. I have not noticed a trade clique and have been turned down for trade very rarely. One reason the trade scene is not very active among the newer collectors is for the same reasons that ThirstyMick pointed out. Coin prices have been on the rise over the past year and mailing them just adds to the top of the coin. So there is another reason that the higher prices of coins is bad for the community. The market has changed, before you could take a mint number to the bank and that would be how many were made end of story, now even if a mint number is posted but it is still not expressly written no re-mints will occur then everyone should figure that a re-mint may occur in event of a sellout and high demand. It is a vendor mind set change from the vendors of the past. I suppose all of the old-timers and middle-timers are still getting used to the new crop of vendors and buyers and the different mind sets they have.
