  1. We'll be there, our first GW. We fly to CA on 5/17, just over a week away! jrr
  2. If Super_Nate is correct, I'll send Lil' Miss Avroair one of our "(Baby We Were) Born to Cache" Top 40 Coins. It would be a totally appropriate motto since you live in NJ! If Super_Nate isn't correct, I think you should reconsider! jrr PS: Congratulations in advance.
  3. As counterintuitive as it seems, there are really only 2 things we can do to express displeasure over these sales. 1. (As Cav Scout suggested) ignore/not bid on the sales. 2. Quit posting here and giving attention/publicity to things better left ignored. * jrr * I tried to convey this info telepathically so as not to violate #2, but it didn't work.
  4. Guess one of these 4 things correct: 1) date of birth: May 19th 2) time of birth: 2:07 a.m. 3) official weight: 7 lbs 12 oz 4) geocaching motto for our new baby girl: "No more solo caching."
  5. Yesterday: A totally unexpected boomerang, all the way from Australia! Solar Eclipse Asto. And today: All three versions of Little Rhody +1. Adorable. And don't worry BBWolf, the +1 will be with its rightful owner soon. jrr
  6. Since you said he was a laid back dog, how about "Winslow." As in, "Im a standing on a corner In Winslow, arizona And such a fine sight to see It's a girl... We may lose and we may win though We will never be here again..." From "Take It Easy" by the Eagles.
  7. Post CITO update. Sillygirl did indeed get one of those cool tiki tile/coins. I'm pretty sure she's not interested in parting with it. One of the keiki cachers won a skull shaped one in the raffle. Our friends the A. Hui snagged the "never before seen in public" "Mr. StoneFace" from the raffle table; the rest of us mere mortals will need to wait until next month to get one. Someone asked about the size of these guys, so here are a couple pictures with geocoins for comparison. Tiki tile with micro benchmark, starfish and a couple stackers. Tile with a pathtag sherpa coin. The colors aren't great, but you get the idea of how big they are. jrr
  8. Jumping "Jack" Flash--Rolling Stones. As since he's a dog, I'm sure you'll have plenty of opportunities to say, "He's a gas, gas, gas."
  9. <--------- Will be attending CITO. now accepting bribes. Just kidding! One more reason to say, "lucky we live Hawaii."
  10. Earth turtles, in the land of Honu?? Maybe I need to go to the airport and find them before they get to Montana. jrr
  11. Well the Love Machine has been hanging our near Boise ID, is that on your way? It would be great if you could pick it up and deliver it to us at GWVI. jrr
  12. Sillygirl's came out great, and Tiki taught us something new. They will stand up on their own! The stackers are propped up, but the scooter is standing all by itself.
  13. What would you spend your money on if geocoins didn't exist? The short answer is that I would probably collect something else, I've always collected things. But one of my collections is still my favorite. There was a time, before Beanie Babies and Olympic Pins (I lived in Atlanta in 1996), but after baseball cards, when I had a nearly complete collection of Stephen King first editions. My collection even included a couple of the small print run autographed editions. The only thing missing was a first edition "Carrie," King's first novel. At the time (before Ebay) true first editions (not book club versions) sold at "rare book auctions" for 2-3 thousand bucks. Way out of my price range, and even if I had the money, not sure I could have justified spending it on just one book. Since I couldn't afford the only thing missing from my collection, I quit collecting! But if I took what I spent on geocoins the last couple years, I bet I could even have splurged for an autographed "Carrie." So I'd buy a first edition "Carrie." Of course, then I'd have to buy all the other first editions I've missed in the last decade or so. Maybe I better just stick to geocoins. jrr
  14. Trade made for a purple, but I'll trade any of the above for a nickel/red or silver/green. (I know the green will be reminted, but if I trade I'll have it sooner).
  15. I'm also looking for a Purple Earth Turtle. I can offer: Tiki Mojo's Hoard Tiki Stubborn Stone Tiki Following Fellow Crake Tracking Time Nickel Laptop Gold Geohana 2007 Compass Rose in Bronze, Sliver, or Black Nickel If more than one are of interest to you I'd trade for a nickel/red one as well. Send e-mail through profile if interested (I don't get PMs). jrr
  16. 1. What is your name (caching name is fine), location, age, and occupation. &jrr aka Judy, Paradise, 45, not sure if I should say, but you can trust me 2. What was the first geocoin you ever held in your hand? TBGP23 USA Geocoin was the first, but the one that started the obsession was a 2005 Compass Rose. It was the first coin I ever "engineered" finding, mostly because I was curious that it had a different icon. (And I didn't even know those little pix were called icons at the time!) 3. Approximately how many coins to you currently own? Fast approaching 4 figures. 4. Approximately how many coins have you released into caches? And how many are still active? 10-15 and the only one that is missing is the first one we ever released it was a Grand Experiment Coin and was stolen from the first cache we put it in. 5. Have you ever minted a coin? If so - how many? If not - skip to question 6 Crake minted the Geohana coin from our idea. We have a "Top 40" record. Sillygirl will have her geoscooters any day now and I'm making some Big Beans. 6. What is your favorite color? Blue 7. What is your favorite food? Chocolate & sushi (but not together). And add me to the fans of the brussel sprout list. 8. What are some of your favorite songs/musicians/groups? I have pretty eclectic musical tastes, but some of my lesser known favorites: Xavier Rudd, Beth Orton, Catie Curtis, Jake Shimabukuro 9. What hobbies do you do aside from caching and drooling over coins? Crossword Puzzles, Reading, Travel 10. Your general life philosophy can be stated as: Try not to sweat the small stuff.
  17. Donation made. Good luck with your climb! jrr
