A wet cigarette, a bandaid and some torn stickers. I'd rather hunt an empty box to be honest. It's treasure hunting, not junk hunting. That's completely lame to put whatever is in your pocket as a trade item. JMO though.

For a majority of our finds, I've left the pack in the car and only took our Swag Bag and a pen with us. This is fun! I downloaded a new app for my cell phone with a compass and stuff, so that just fueled my addiction. lol

This pack is for the 3+ mile hikes we have planned with multi caches. We've been busy this week, but managed to squeeze in some roadside finds while we were out. I'm seriously addicted... to the point I'm debating caching at night. lol

This isn't a backpack purely for geocaching; it's also our camping backpack. I have to carry bare minimum necessities, as I have small children. Thank you for being thorough dfnu! That's really helpful Thank you Danny! I figured I could use the extra ziplocks in an emergency dog poo situation. lol

I actually just discovered this website a few days ago. My husband and I are planning to take our sons on our first "treasure hunt" this coming Saturday and I want to make sure I have a well stocked backpack. We're using a Garmin Nuvi 250 as a GPS and perhaps later, my cellphone, which is a Samsung Impression. Today, I've been adding some things to my pack. Here's what I have. What else would you suggest? --- Pens Pencils & sharpener Spiral Notebook Notepad Envelopes Calculator Knife Miniature First Aid Kit Maps (including DE, MD, VA and PA; as well as the local state park) Police Issue Mace Extra plastic bags for trash Flashlight with 2 extra sets of batteries Makeshift emergency replacement logs (a few index cards stapled together, in the event something is really soggy or full) Wipeys/Napkins/TP Extra ziplock baggies 2 lighters, 1 flint firestarter and a small fire making kit (including lint, paper, cardboard and small twigs) 2 small candles Screwdriver with extra bits Bike tool (allen wrench, etc) Plant ID book Misc- duct tape, tweezers, safety pins Need to add- water, snacks, hand sanitizer, bug spray, compass (?) and some "swag" .... Anything else? Please and thank you!
