I am also experiencing this problem after updating. It does not update position which is a real pain in the rear. I have had to bring up cache, back out to menu, go in to cache to see updated distance. Checked all settings and cant figure out the issue. A real pain when youre in the middle of the mountains

My only comment on the latest release is it seems painfully slow. Each time I click on something new I receive a millisecond brown screen then the listing loads. Using satellite view of the geocaching.com maps load painfully slow. I too noticed the recently viewed was not working yesterday, but that seems to be fixed. Using Chrome get the brown screen on mobile and pc.

I'm sorry The A-Team I am going to have to disagree, this is in no way a google issue. Google is in the business of profiting off their products, why should geocaching expect to use it for free when people are paying to use geocaching services? I believe the true issue to be the implementation of the current maps and how they work (more like dont work). As someone else mentioned opencaching utilizes bing maps, which in my few seconds of looking at their site seem acceptable. Would there be this many people complaining had they implemented opensource maps that actually load and act similar to past google maps? Probably not.

A question for those of you with the Android geocaching app, (gc.com NOT c:geo) does the live map option still work after this update?

This update is FRUSTRATING. The new maps are painfully slow and offer about a quarter of the detail. Why do these maps have no scale bar? While trying to locate a new area to place a cache this comes in very handy. Personally I feel the premium membership dues would more than cover the cost to use the google map plugin. (yes I pay the premium fee) Update request, include the distance from home to premium members for newest in home state! Update request, take the preview map in the cache listing back 2-3 versions. The map should be in dynamic mode by default!
