    Geocoin

Did I mention that you guys are truly awesome! With you help, I was able to log the cool geocoin and keep it's movements tracked. That is one thing that I really enjoy about this sport is the helpful and supportive community that has grown from all this fun! Thanks!! -missnomer Entropy in Motion

    Geocoin

Hey! I found a geocoin with a tracking number on it. I was going to log it after I moved it to a new location. Problem is, the travel bug page doesn't accept the tracking number. Any suggestions? -missnomer Entropy in Motion
  3. Don't go counting me 'down and out'! I've just been busy entertaining international guests (teaching the ways of caching), teaching classes (programming) and working on a Masters degree...but I just placed a new cache two weeks ago and have been diabolically working on some new ones since I've covered every hill in the surrounding area!! -missnomer Entropy in Motion

  5. I always carry a roll of fresh black garbage bags in my backpack and have replaced many that have fallen apart or are soaked and soggy. "Cache in, Trash out"!! Also, I usually have a cache or two in my car that I'm trying to find a good spot for. Hence, I've actually had to replace a cache that in a very cool place, very fun to do, but the cache was ruined by water. I contacted the cache owner and asked if it was ok if I did replace it, which was fine. Just a courtesy to the sport I enjoy so much! -missnomer Entropy in Motion
  6. Graduated in with the class of '79!! I've been caching since Jan 21, 2002 and have logged almost 200 finds! ....and what a good time! Yay! citrix_99301, I'll be back in Kennewick for the month of July, can't miss the boat races, ya know...if you wanna do pizza and trade some caching stories, just let me know! -missnomer Entropy in Motion
  7. *sneaks a peek, to make sure the K-falls insanity hasn't been diluted after all the 'city folk' visits* Sorry that I haven't been out in a while but trying to wrap up all my projects at school so I can (hopefully) graduate in a 14 days! Yay! But I'm definitly going through caching withdrawals, so I know how you feel, OregonBlackDog! Might just have to sneak out and hit a cache or 5, or 6, or 7.... -missnomer Entropy in Motion
  8. nomer likes this idea! Only problem is that the month of July is rather hectic, after all, it is the first free month after being released from school! Places to go, people to see and time to get the heck out of Dodge! -missnomer Entropy in Motion
  9. So where is the infamous oregone and Laurne cat? Anyone heard from them? They posted a log for Halfway Up on 5/17, but haven't seen or heard from them since! Any ideas? I was really looking forward to another pizza party Entropy in Motion

  11. Well, Gloom just posted on another thread that there were 7.23 caches per square mile around here, which doesn't really surprise me since most of the 'regulars' are really good about keeping life interesting and giving back to the sport. Hillwilly holds the record, for every 3(found)/ 1 (placed) Quad has a record of 5/1 Bufford: 7/1 SirRalan: 8/1 missnomer: 10/1 Lone Ranger & Tonto: 11/1 Rooster: 12/1 and a bunch of other people that place them randomly. All vary, but usually fall in one of the following categories: ultra-easy urban caches, virutals, mega-hill climbing, 'multi-mile multi-points, interesting twists, 'not another film canister!?!', and 'wtf?? this is cruel!!' So yes, there are a lot of caches in the K-falls area and no, you won't be just tripping over them! Some require brawn and others require brains...go figure! -missnomer Entropy in Motion
  12. Way to go, Logscaler!! That's great! Whew, 31 in a day? Guess I'm gonna have to bug Quadly into making a Bend raid purty soon to see if we can top that...geesh! That's gonna be a toughy! Seriously though, most excellent job! -missnomer Entropy in Motion
  13. Interestingly enough, this BruceS is an animal when it comes to finding caches but rather weak on placing them!! With a record of 611 found and only 6 placed....kind of makes ya wonder! Guess he's not into sharing? -missnomer Entropy in Motion
  14. I'm always out walking my doggers and a friend suggested that I go caching sometime, that the doggers would love it. So we went to "Looking for Ducks" and the doggers did enjoy the walk and I enjoyed finding the treasures! So now I take my doggers (i.e. dubbed 'geo-doggers') out caching with me all the time and we have a great time! Hair color? Not many votes for JetBlack but it seems to work for me Entropy in Motion
  15. For those who haven't seen it or don't know yet, The big event "Dash for Cache II" is coming up on May 11 (registration by May 10) "Dash For Cache II" Also, there is the "Pre-Dash Bash" coming up on April 20 (short notice). An opportunity to meet your competitors (and friends) for insight, ideas and strategies, taunt the current champions or just to put faces on names! 16. If you have the time to make the drive over the hill, there is a 'mecca' in Klamath Falls area of caches! Some are pretty easy, others are a bit tough but there are literally over 100 caches in a 20 mile radius. We welcome everyone to this area, the more the better! If you plan ahead, you might even be able to find a 'guide' to give you a cache-tour! -missnomer
  17. Definitely not crazy...although some might say a bit 'obsessive'...aw heck, I'm just havin fun, guys! geesh! It's all about organization and a playing with a new GPS. Just got the Garmin V and had to give it a good test drive! heheh The night before was well spent by planning a route, printing maps and cache reports, looking for 'easy' targets and fairly 'close-in' to the roads traveled. Even had a few that were 'off the beaten path'. And being such a newbie, it's not difficult to log bunch in this area, since Southern Oregon is a real 'Hot spot' for caching! It also helps to raid with an 'experienced' cacher, the KF_Quad Explorer is a master at this, so I learned a lot of really good tips along the way! As far as planting caches while caching...well, my motto is: It's always good to give back to something that gives you so much joy! -missnomer btw, you can check all 120 log books and you will surely see my name and date in them
  18. I've been using a Garmin eTrex Venture which would zoom down to 20-ft (nice). I've recently been playing with a Meridian Gold and even on the highest detail it doesn't zoom down less than 100-ft. Has anyone else noticed this or have any solution to get the MeriGold to zoom down more? I totally enjoy searching for caches but prefer to narrow down the search a little more than 100-ft radius! Thanks in advance for any and all replies! -missnomer
