  1. I am working on a cart right now that uses zones within zones. It appears to work on the emulator, though I have not tried it on the Colorado.
  2. February 12 by thisismeisthatu (679 found) Able to open this cache again on the condition no cachers do any lifting to find this cache. THERE IS NO NEED TO LIFT ANYTHING TO FIND THIS CACHE. [view this log on a separate page] November 9, 2006 by thisismeisthatu (679 found) The manager of the WalMart has asked me to move the Cache do to the damaged to the signs shirts. Which I will do early next week. [view this log on a separate page] November 8, 2006 by RedRouge (1813 found) Second time DNF. The poor sign is taking a beating from aggressive searching. [view this log on a separate page] An elegant solution?
  3. Excellent idea! I'm going on a road trip of 300km tomorrow. The query results in 35 caches within visual range of the highway. I look forward to testing the results!
  4. For geocaching WGS84 is recommended. If using a map, the datum of the map is always the best. Some of the older maps here are NAD27 which puts cache locations about 235 meters off. Thank goodness the newer ones are NAD83 ~ WGS84.
  5. I looked at your track compared to mine and can't explain the wild variations except that I noticed that if the interval between track points is too large, there are big route discrepancies because of the straight lines between points too far apart. In addition, I have noticed that if I do not chedk the 'adjust altitudes to ground height' button, my track moves quite a way. I am at about 3500 feet, so it makes a difference.
  6. I have a Tungsten E2 and find it's great for carrying multiple 'pages' of caches sent from Geocaching. For $30 U$, not a bad bet.
  7. Check in system settings and look under devices/hardware. Under COM ports, it should list the mapped serial port. Mine defaults to Com6. I haven't tried GSAK yet, but my Legend appears to work well with Oziexplorer.
  8. Thanks for the information. I'll have to try it. BearGPS
  9. I have the {un}? fortunate situation of living north of a large city. A cache search ususally inundates me with a large number of caches to the south a very few to the north. If there is a way to exclude a direction without a large ignore list, please help me out. If there is not a way to do it yet, maybe this can be an improvement to the search funtion. Direction, directions to ignore, etc.
  10. How soon is a dedicated area for locationless caches going to be set up? I have an idea or two I'd like to get on the site.
  11. Canadian benchmarks (and Canadian Geocoins) should be incorporated into Geocaching.Com and have the same impact as the US ones.
  12. That seems to be okay for now, but a Canadian benchmarking section would be nice. Maybe a category for Waymarking or virtual Geocaching?
