  1. Until this version, we were able to unlock two Garmin units, I used V7 on my SP2610 and my 60CSx, now their policy reads: If you would like to obtain additional regions or utilize more than one Garmin GPS unit you own, you will need to purchase another code for each unit. (The exception to this is with MapSource BlueChart CD data. The region you have unlocked to one compatible Garmin unit you own from a specific BlueChart CD you may unlock to ONE other compatible Garmin unit you own for no additional fee.) This is a REAL bummer! Since only my 2610 came with City Navigator, I can upgrade to V8 for $75, but I gues I have to OUTRIGHT purchase a copy for my 60CSx? Am I reading this wrong or missing something? ~CMT
  2. I am in So Cal and seem to be getting a solid lock on 48 and D's on the screen (no 7ft accuracy though, more like 11ft), on my 60CSx (without any hard reset). I am not seeing 51 from my backyard which is facing east/south east. Should I see 51 from here, if so, is a hard reset the only way? (I have the latest rev software loaded already) Thanks! ~CMT
  3. Here's an online version: http://www.keyhole.com/GoogleEarthHelp/GoogleEarth.htm ~CMT
  4. Got it, looks like they resolved their WEB download issues.... Thanks! ~CMT
  5. I am trying to download the Audio update for my SP2610, but it will not compelete and is VERY slow. I tried it at home and work, same issues, are others seeing issues? http://www.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=1035 Thanks, ~CMT
  6. I received my repaired 2610 from Garmin yesterday! They received it August 7th and I got it back, in So. Cal., on 8/15, barely a week including shipping time, so they turned it around in about 2 days! Great Job! They copied my Waypoints over to the replacement unit, gave me a my new unlock codes and everything worked smoothly! Thanks Garmin! ~CMT
  7. Perhaps buy a bigger HD and use an APP like GHOST to image your drive to a bigger HD? ~CMT
  8. I have a 60CS and 60CSx, no comparison under heavy cover. Totally agree, the "x" is head and shoulders above the previous versions. ~CMT
  9. They (Verizon) did it for me too, although the rep was then told that they do not do the 25% on the TransFlash (microSD), but the let mine slide! $75, can't beat that! ~CMT
  10. Thanks for the info, I had a 2GB SD card in the 2610, that is not too much of an issue, I was more thinking on my 60CSx, that has a 512mb microSD. But, I fixed that issue, just bought a 2Gb microSD card from Verizon, $99 - 25%=$75, so space is not a real issue anymore on the 60CSx. Now I am just waiting for my V8 upgrade to get here! ~CMT
  11. I have a SP2610 & a 60CSx, I ordered the non-NT upgrade version 8 (have not received it yet). I did not understand what the NT version was at the time. Did I make an error in the sense that it probably would have been smarter to order the NT version? I wonder if I can change my order? Looks like it should run on both units? Thoughts? ~CMT
  12. What model is it? Maybe it's not worth repairing if it's 5 years old? ~CMT
  13. Called Garmin Tech Support, my SP2610 screen would no longer accept touch screen input. Purchased in May of '05, so out of the one year warranty. But with no asking on my part, they offered to repair the unit under warranty!! A $225 repair that they will cover, without me having to say a word! Thats is Awesome support !!!! I did have to hold for about 30minutes on a Friday at 7:45am PST, but I spoke to an ENGLISH speaking, Kansasonian! Worth the wait!!! They previous replaced a battery in my 8 year old GPS II+ unit. This is why I buy Garmin! ~CMT
  14. Been getting my PQ's now also! ~CMT
  15. Oh, it's not just me... ~CMT
  16. Using my Treo 700W, exporting HTML from GSAK. Great solution for me! ~CMT
  17. My Bad, I searched but clearly missed those. ~CMT
  18. Changes made from version 2.70 to 2.71: * Add feature to save active track log to file on data card. * Add ability to put unit into USB mass storage mode via the interface setup page to facilitate copying track files from data card to PC. That was fast! Also be sure you run the webupdater to get version 2.5 of the GPS software for your 60CSx! ~CMT
  19. Have you called Garmin? I have had good luck with their after warranty support, they replaced the batteries in my IIplus after 7 years, for free! ~CMT
  20. I am using a Treo 700w and use GSAK to Exprt to HTML onto my PocketPC, works great! My question is if Cachmate offers more features or options that would make that a preferred choice? Obviously the $8 is not the issue, just a question of which has more/better functionality for Paperless Caching? Thanks for your ideas! ~CMT
  21. Have: Garmin StreetPilot 2610 Garmin GPSMAP 60CSx Garmin GPSMAP 60CS Garmin IIPlus Had: Garmin StreetPilot III ~CMT
  22. I am having trouble installing Cachemate on my Windows Mobile 5.0 Treo 700W. I have copied the .EXE file to the Treo and have executed it and this install starts to run. My problem is moving through the install menus. When I click on the .EXE, the initial CacheMate 1.0.3 screen comes up, there is no OK button or any prompt, so I hit the "Return" key and I get the "Install Location" screen and I select "Install to custom location" but I have no way to continue from there? Enter does nothing, there is no OK button and I am basically stuck and can't complete the install. Does this app not support the Treo 700W, WM5 OS and the 240x240screen? Am I missing information on the screen to continue the install? Thanks for any help, this is the APP I have been looking for! Thanks in Advance! ~CMT
