  1. Not happy. I was going to place a new cache today but the snow has scuppered my plans
  2. agreed! and if you don't know the local non-emergency number where you are, PLEASE-- don't dial 999 unless someone's life is at risk or a crime is ongoing. i did my first lot of night caching last week, both a reflector cache with a torch, and a normal cache in the dark. both were great fun. and i would thoroughly recommend ebay for 99p LED torches shipped from china. and cheapy AAA batteries from wilko's
  3. I placed a sudoku based puzzle cache, which took a lot of work. however i firstly did all the nearby caches, then found a spot i wished to place mine. i then worked backwards and devised the puzzle around my chosen co-ordinates.
  4. from reading what's been written above, it seems micros/nanos have been around since the dawn of geocaching. in terms of etymology, cache actually comes from the french 'cacher' - to hide. so technically anything hidden can be a cache. give me a decent micro any day over a damp sarnie box full of junk
  5. Simple really. I found a local cache today after a really nice walk. It was a micro and the log book was technically full. I managed to squeeze my name on at the end but now it really is full. So two questions: 1) Someone has already flagged this cache as needing maintenance. Should I add a second 'needs maintenance' log? 2) Given that I found this cache for the first time, if I had just logged a 'needs maintenance' rather than a 'found', would it show up as one of my finds? Only been at this about 6 weeks but already I'm hooked dave.
  6. get the dell streak on contract with o2 (now with android 2.1) and install c:geo free from the android market. can't go wrong!
  7. don't be offended. i'll drop by when i'm next on my way to the coast still thinking of where to place my first cache...
