you said "the GPS has no way of knowing in which direction you are facing" that is incorrect the CSx has an electronic compass so it will point the correct direction to the cache or waypoint or just show you the direction you are facing on the compass page when standing still if calibrated. also be sure you have it on bearing pointer and not course pointer on the compass page

thanks.......I was figuring there was an easy way to do it....guess I should have looked closer...if it was a snake it would have bit me......it is right there..I hadn't noticed that since they added that feature, but then I just click send and zip right through that page I know that if I export it to a mapsource file and then send it from mapsource they show up...wanted to be able to do it in GSAK
-
I cannot get the additional waypoints or parking waypoints listed on the cache page to show up on my 60C or 60CSx when I send the waypoints with GSAK. If I export the file to mapsource it shows the additional waypoints or parking waypoints. Is there something I need to do to get GSAK to send them directly. I am running the lastest version of GSAK so it can communicate with my 60CSx when I load the PQ into gsak it shows the waypoints and the additional waypoints as wpts.gpx(children) but I can't get them to show up on my GPSr

I Took The Plunge Tonight On A Legend Cx
birddog14 replied to Chaos Team's topic in GPS technology and devices
Just got my 60csx last week, and it had the 64MB card. Very nice bonus! not to burst your bubble or anything, but the 60CSx comes with a 64 MB microSD card. The people that are saying they got a bonus are talking about the Legend Cx with is supposed to only come with a 32 MB card. -
I have a 60C, 60CSx, and a legend C......sometimes while fishing and stuff I like the size of the Legend C better. I just slip it over my next and almost forget it is there. With either of my 60 series I like the larger screen. So it is a trade off. My 60C, CSx, and legend all get a lot of time out of my rechargeable batteries. To me battery life is not an issue as I always carry extras. here are the pics......I didn't clean the screen

thanks Robert & Clyde my 60CSx was happy to meet GSAK -
I've had my 60CSx since 3-16....I showed D's today for the the first time. And 35 was still a hollow bar. my legend C and 60C have been showing D's and picking up a hollow bar for 35 and 47
-
I have had a 60C since May 2005, and I recently got a 60CSx......I have not showed D's once on my new 60CSx. My 60 C just earlier was about 3' more accurate than my CSx....the 60C was picking up 35 and 48 and the CSx was not picking up any WAAS sats
-
where's a good place to buy SD cards?
-
right by DFW airport TX.......I was just wondering if the CSx will show any D's in the signal bar for any of the sats, not just WAAS
-
It's my understanding ,that the 60CSx does not have D's and the WAAS sat will show as a hollow bar, just like in your pic. The numbers you stated as EPE are near the stated accuracy. I just received my CSx today.....I have a 60C also, but I was wondering if the CSx will show D's or not? I only had a little time to play with mine today and I could not get any D's with WAAS enabled or disabled.

I have a Garmin 60C and other stuff currently on my usb port. I am getting a 60CSx tomorrow and understand it uses a usb 2 protocol........is there going to be any problems with running other older format USB1 stuff on my ports? do I need to change anything when I go from from USB1 item to a USB2 item and vice versa?

started with a Garmin 12 - sold it a few years ago bought a eTrex Legend - it broke off the lanyard while duck hunting and fell in 5-6 foot of water and lost it Garmin 60C Garmin Legend C to replace my lost legend now I am wanting a 60 CSx -
I live near Fort Worth Tx and I have only been able to get hollow bars fror 35 and 36 lately. And today I was getting hollow bars on 35 and 47 with my 60C. I have not had any trouble picking up WAAS until a week or more ago. I even tried yesterday with my Gilsson external antenna and still would only get hollow bars on WAAS. I even looked at my Legend C yesterday and it does the same thing

New To Gsak And Need Help!
birddog14 replied to Frisco Finders's topic in GPS technology and devices
1 - I like to use the smart name over the GCXXX format....it is easier to find a cache driving down the road, well for me anyway. But is you want to change from smart name to GCXXX name, when you click on GPS and then send waypoints a window pops up. On the RH side where it says waypoint name, change it to %code. 2- click on tools, then options, then locations and enter your home coords as shown, then click on centerpoint and select home
