  1. Ok, thanks, just needed to make sure that only the 'selected' item was in the list...that exports it as gpx just fine. Makes sense, thanks for the response.
  2. Ok, Getting to know my 60csx slowly but surely. One main thing I can't figure out though: I realize that I must save to SD card if I want to include speed/time, then I can import that .gpx file to mapsource or anywhere else fine, but I can't view that file on the GPS. Sooo...I save the track to internal memory also, if I want to be able to view it on gps rite? rite. But here's my problem...what if I save a track to internal memory then I want to get it out of the GPS in the .gpx format? I can import it into mapsource just fine, but from mapsource I don't see any sort of 'export' feature....just the 'save as' dialog, and I think that saves the whole map or something. Obviously, it would be nice if I could either view the sd card's track on the gps, or if the internal maps weren't limited...but untill then, any suggestions?
  3. Cool, thanks. That's what I figured. I have some other questions about the unit, but I will do some searching first and possibly open a new thread. So far though....Seems like a great little unit. And, yes, unless I feel like changing the maps around all the time I will probably need to purchase a bigger MicroSD card. Thanks again.
  4. Ok, just got my 60Csx and as I suspected, 100% useless without paying more $ for maps. Not a big surprise, but just want to get some opinions before I lay it out... I've decided to go with City Navigator NT for my road trips and think that will do me just fine. For when I go hiking, however, I believe I need one of the TOPO software packages. I understand the topo24K is only good for National Parks, so I'm going with the regular TOPO...but here is my questions: I have a very old ver. of mapsource/topo from at least 5 years ago (old gps, never used it much). I am able to update my mapsource no problem, but am wondering...do I really need the newest ver. of TOPO? How much does the earth actually change, or is it just POI's that they add? I'm just trying to get a better idea of what I will be getting if I shell out the extra $ for the TOPO upgrade. (my current version is TOPO West, data version: 2.00) When I compare the maps to the sample ones on garmins website they look similiar..i'm wondering if they have changed at all even.
  5. Ok, Ive never owned a GPS before (except for the usb one that comes with Microsoft streets & trips), and I just did some googling to get an idea of what's out there. I am a bit overwhelmed and hoping someone can point out a good resource to help me limit my choices. Basically, my main uses include: 1. Hiking and camping 2. Mtn. Biking and Caching 3. pc connectivity for use with MS Streets & Trips. 4. GPX file import would be a plus, as that's what a lot of the google maps websites seem to export.(ie wikiwalki.com) I don't think pc connectivity will be an issue, as it seems most of them hook up w/ usb nowadays. I saw Garmin has a bunch of different 'software' solutions...I think theres probably 2 different decisions I need to make. Which one is better hardware, and then what software is best for what I want to do. Does that sound rite, or am I on the wrong track? I'm in the USA. edit: guess I should mention I don't think I want to spend more than 300
  6. Another good one, which you can plot on to Gmaps with is: http://wikiwalki.com includes import/export of gpx.
