  7. i understand there point but if they are watching like they said then they would know what is placed in the caches. And besides that how many times have we (cachers) have removed something like a candy bar or candle. I think we police ourselfs preaty good. As a tax paying voter, I would have a talk with them, and see if they would allow this to be added to the summer program ie: Day Camp, or some other type of activty. But that just my 2 cents.

  11. you break your leg while geocaching, and while wearing your cast, you go out and find 2 caches, go to one geo cache party, and help set up a hide...that why i married her!!!!

  13. the wife and i like to explorer...me, i still have the macho bs in me, and i think of this as a game...like making my first 100 in 6 monthes, which i may now that the wife's cast is off from breaking her leg, while trying to be the first to find a new cache, and i dont have to carry her anymore while geocaching!!!...this is what ever you make of it...folks i drive to la everyday for work...so if "fighting to be #1" saves me from going postal, let the numbers speak for themselfs...

My wife just got her leg out of a cast from a fall going after a 1/1...sometimes you find them...sometimes you need to stopand walk away...and if you think we have not hiked a little i spent many years doing SAR...the blame is upon ourself when we go behind our skill level...enough of this rant...time go geocaching
  17. I agree that would be a bad idea. But there are park benchs, and such like that. We live in corona and come into OC all the time as well as some in North LA.We enjoy both city and country hunts.

  21. think of new ways of hiding the cache...it does not have to be an ammo box...make it small or a game out of it...im doing one now for a geocache picnic...it for all the young cache hunters so the are on trails and you dont have to bushwack or step off the trail to find them...hide them in a tree using a rope or string so u never step off the trail...trust me fishing string is so hard to see or us small boxes...or make it a virtual thru a park or zoo...the only bounds are your mind and the Law!!!!!

  23. i think sometimes we lose sight of why we play this "game" or "sport". I feel it not what i get, heaven knows i have enough "stuff" in my garage as it is, ask my wife. It the hunt, to go out and see new things in your area. I have found great parks near my home as well as great area in the country. i plan on doing some on a local island. My view (which is one out of thounsand, lost count how many of us there are!!! ) this a way to bring the family together and to find new areas both near and far. Dude if ya dont like the "urban" ones dont do them...

  25. I agree it's about the hunt and not where it's at. We equaly enjoy both city and county hunts. We can get out after a stressful day and do a few in local county park (go check any of Otis Pug's caches)and on weekends get out and check out the local mountain range or desert. I do think we do need to "self" police and if a caches is in bad shape and the owner is not caring for it, ask if you can remove it.
