  1. Wow that beats us. We had to laugh when the police told us normally, after a month if no one claimed the goods, then they were yours, but not in the case of drugs. Just think, you'd be able to retire on that find.
  2. We found £2,000 of cannabis near one of our cachies. We took it to the nearest police station. We also had a lot of explaining to do as why we were out at 7:00am looking down desertd lanes at the back of trees. We also found about £15,000 of designer clothing. We, being the honest people we are turned it into the police, who then asked us if we could store it in our warehouse for them. The delivery company that got robbed claimed the clothing back. We didn't even receive a thank you, let alone a reward.
  3. Well done HazelS. Finally did it. On to your next 1000 now. You can take us out to celebrate when you get home!!!
  4. WOW!!!!!! It would take us at least 6 weeks to do that. Well done, you must be shattered!! Guess we're not even in your league.
  5. Happy Belated Birthday and keep up the good work!! Sandiway Searchers
  6. Congratulations Adam and Rebecca... I always knew you were having a boy and a girl - Hazel showed me your 3D scan, and I said there was definitely a boy and a girl! Well done, I hope we'll get to meet them soon! Linda Mrs Sandiway Searcher
  7. We sell Latex gloves.... we have done for over 15 years. We probably sell around 25,000 gloves each month, and unless somebody somewhere is keeping quiet, we've not had a single death as a result from using our gloves!!!! Sandiway Searchers... risking people's lives again eh!!
  8. Oh for Havens sake... sorry I opened my mouth!!! Perhaps I'll be a lurker from now on
  9. Oh come on - don't take life so seriously... It was a play on words with TB...
  10. Congratulations on you 200th. Oh and thanks for sticking up for us the other night!!!
  11. Yes the Dee View is part of the series and it's not far from Shore thing. The Bear Pit is only difficult because of tree cover, you'll probably find it now and it's very close to the Ferry and Tap. But you will need to do the other seven to get the coordinates. James & Emma's hidy holes are easy and are quite close together. Royden Ramble is very close to The Farmers Arms and the Irby Mill is not very far from there. The Greasby Pump is just a drive by, you can see the pump from the road. If you've never been to Pargate before, it's a nice place and The Tide is Out is very easy. I'm not just saying that because it's my cache. Hope this helps & Good Luck!
  12. Having tried, and tried and tried... I'm in need of help!! I have a nice bluetooth IPAQ, got hold of a copy of Tom Tom, bought a bluetooth GPS and I'm all ready to go paperless... However... I just don't seem to be able mastering the art of getting stuff onto the IPAQ SD Card... well... I got Tom Tom onto the SD Card, but don't seem to be able to run it on the IPAQ. Can anyone help?? (before I throw it all out of the window!!)
  13. I've been on this boat trip, and it's pretty good, if a little long - I think we were on board for about 4 hours!!!! However, they will go wherever you want to go, and it IS a good day out. You can park right by the boat embarkation place - it's between Weaverham and Bartington (I'm about to move from Weaverham!) and the pub there (The Riverside) do cheap eats (buy one get one free) and I think if the numbers are right they will reserve the conservatory at the rear for you. I'd be up for it - I'm sure Bargee would be too, and he could give us a running commentary on the Navigation - he REALLY is an expert!!
  14. Sorry, that last one was from us not HazelS. She's taken over my computor since she returned home.
  15. I'm always merry. Now how do I DELITE your log???? No tea for you tonight!!!! It was a fun evening. Thanks Mr. & Mrs. Santa. Nice to meet everyone and put a face to names.
  16. Cache is back on. I think I have stated more clearly about the terrain. I have also stated that the cache is at the bottom of the quarry even though there isn't a way up there any where near the site. I understand a little more about wheelchairs now. Hope it doesn't stop cachers pushing wheelchairs to sites if they have a partner who can retrieve the last bit. My Mum was wheelchair bound for most of her life and I know she would have loved going even if she couldn't do the last bit. Thanks for all your help. I now think that should close it, we're just going over the same thing.
  17. Thanks for that, I can see your point. I will give the appropiate warning.
  18. We accept your apology and equally apologize for deleting your log. However, there are a few points we want to make. First of all, if you follow your GPS from the Irby Mill to the cache, you would never end up on the top of the quarry, There isn't a path that takes you there. The top is reached from a completely different road and I'm fairly certain there is a fence at the top, at least there was last time we walked across the top. We will check it out and if we think it is necessary we will put on a warning. When we put a 1 on the terrain, we thought that was correct as you could easily take a wheelchair or pushchair to the site. I put a 3 on the difficulty as you have to step up 2 feet to reach the cache if you are over 5 foot 7inches. If you are a shorty like me than you would have to take another step which puts you about 4 foot up on a wide ledge and lots of rocks to hold on to if you wish. We have just been to the site and measured. We have also done a full "Risk Assestment" and now now think that the 3 should be reduced to a 2 or 2 1/2. If I put a 3 on the terrain, then cachers with wheelchairs and pushchairs would think they couldn't go. Maybe someone could advise me on this. Another point, we brought cachers to this area, because we think it is a very interesting and beautiful site. It's not a well known area unless you live near here. It's not just an old quarry without any interest. We took a lot of time to plan our caches and we think it is a very good series. I look forward to any advice, so we can get our ratings right. We were very experienced walkers and have climbed Snowden, three peaks, and the Howgills in our younger days. We do know what danger is. We are very responsible cachers and would never put anyone in danger. On saying that, it's gone on long enough. We supposed to be doing this for enjoyment and not for arguement sake.
  19. This is really getting out of hand. Before I took Mootes log off I changed it to a 3 terrain. I took off the log as I said, as Mootes comments made the cache sound really dangerous and he gave away where it was placed. We will go and do a "Risk Assesment" on the cache asap. If we feel it is too challanging for most cachers, we will just place it on the ground, using the same co-ordinates. If we do keep it at the height, we will place a warning on the cache page. I hope this won't put cachers off, when really it's not at all difficult. We have done far more dangerous caches without warnings, but I do see his point. He could have quite easily e-mailed me and I would have changed it right away. We haven't been doing caching for very long and had only placed two caches before this series. We do take caching very seriously and are always open for any help and advice that fellow cachers can offer. We hope to put the cache on back soon even though Moote thinks the whole series is ill concieved. Why doesn't he as a very experienced cacher just offer us some advice and stop slagging us off??
  20. I have disabled it only until I have had another look at the height. I had no intention of being a "smarty pants" or to put cachers in danger. I placed it without any trouble and really can't understand what all the fuss is about. Guess I'm fitter than I thought. I will put a large warning on IF I take it out of archive, so only really fit cachers/mountineers should attempt this "dangerous climb". Maybe I should take up a really dangerous hobbie like jigsaws or crochet!!!!!
  21. How sad. It is doubly sad because it forms part of a series, so the other 7 caches in the series are now pointless too.
  22. Which we have done... I really don't know what the fuss is about - it is not 3m up a cliff face - try 5ft!! We HAVE Changed the rating, and don't like the personal insults from Moote either.
  23. I have changed the ratings. I had put a 3 into the difficulty instead of the terrain. I appolgise to any cahers for my mistake. I took Moote's log off because I did think he gave too much away in the log and also I thought it would put cachers off thinking it was a life threatening cache. As I pointed out to Moote, I placed the cache myself. I am a 57 year old woman, terrified of heights and have rheumatoid arthritis. I have no wish to put any cachers in danger so I have archived the cache for the time being.
