  1. So what do you do with a TB that has been logged into a cache, but now has been missing from the cache for over 3 months now, with no log of a cacher takeing the TB, nor did the owner of the TB or the cache do a follow up on the TB to maybe contact some of the recent loggers as to the where about's of the TB. I knew of a cache that you could drop the TB into which is a graveyard type to send it into limbo until it was caught up to and then could be retrieved to get it back into the system. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...rypt=y&log= So now what do we do with the preverbial lost in space TB ??? just wondering archuka email: archuka@yahoo.com
  2. I think what would be more appropriate for these caches, is for you to create new caches in the same general area. Since the caches are not there now, there is nothing to save other than the location and your memories of the first two caches you found. They can be tribute or Memorial caches. Pot O' Gold by TravisL is an example of placing a new cache in honor of another one. It's my feeling that adoptions on caches should only be done when the original container and log are in place and it is a good cache other than needing some maintenance. The other thing I take into consideration is, Does this cache meet current guidelines? If it doesn't then I would only transfer ownership if the new owner can bring the cache up to current standards. TMJ Well it was in a good place and yes within guidelines !! that was my thinking too is to just start another one in that same area -- just hide it a little bit better -- the bunker II was in a great place but a little bit on the slick side of the hill so winter time was not good but i do have another place for that cache -- i would like to keep the names is what i was mainly after though -- they depicted the place of the caches--! -- soooooo i get to make new ones now--!! maybe revisited in front of the names--!!!!!!!----great places for the kids to play -- although some got scared (grandkids didnt like em without papa being there also ) ----->>>>> sighs -- have great day--!! archuka--cheyenne,wy
  3. -- I do it this way -- first i go to the travel bug in the cache -- print out a bug sheet -- take a plastic baggie with me -- put the bug and sheet in the plastic baggie so people know what it wants to do -- if i can help it move then so be it -- or i may just leave it there -- i do record the name and numbers so i can add it to my list (totals) -- then on the page of the cache i make a note that i am just logging it -- after i grab the TB (yes you have to do that so it counts it) then in the log i make for the cache page i add the TB back into the cache -- then i go in and edit (erase) the log in the cache page--!!!!! ya time consumming but doesnt fill up the logs and you got a TB logged--!! archuka---cheyenne, wyo

  10. hhhmmm well i have checked on others caches for them and just thought it would be in the kind interest of GEOCACHING that someone would ask to check on a cache for me them us what ever--!!!!--to me its the spirit of the hunting and the spirit of keeping a cache alive and available to find--!!---EXCUSE ME--!!! and i would hope i can ask someone to check on mine if necessary -- what if the placer gets layed up for some reason ( like haveing knee surgery?? )-- would be nice to have another fellow cacher look after things--!!! how else can i explain it that its in the spirit of geocaching that others help others -- !! or am i on the wrong soap box here--??? 11. --because some dont understand military time--- and 2 what should it matter--its going to happen at 1 o'clock in the morning when you should be in bed dreaming about GPS's and Caches--!!!---the time should not matter--!!--just that its going to happen for all intense purposes--! 12. good way to keep track of them and others on vacations can at least go find them just like virtuals--!!!---just my opinion archuka--cheyenne, wy be sure to look for benchmarks never know what you might find found a monument dedicated to a person that worked for the usgs and was made into a calibration place !!!!!!----
  13. i am in Cheyenne, Wy no groups that i know of but i am very active and have 3 caches and on virtual benchmark that is a known spot for calibration and has a memoral for the guy that worked with the usgs survey crews. to me that is a great honor--!!--will try to get more cache out this spring cause that is the time to get outtie the house and enjoy the outdoors and besides have to get in shape to get the ones in the colorado mountains--!!--also might look at the ones on HWY 34 going to loveland, colo--there is a gentleman that teaches map reading and how to do compass courses for kids and grownups too--he has several interesting caches. between here fort collins and loveland area there are more than plenty to keep a person occupied and wanting to upgrade their GPS to one that will down load waypoints and more easy to manage with the easygps . loc files--wow what a concept--!!! really nice to get good info on what what and lets see that cache is only 30 feet away--hhhmmm but its uphill 504 feet above where you are standing--!!!--glad i had topo map installed then i knew what i was dealing with--!!!!--wwwwooooohhhhhooooooo nice find--!! yes there are some geocachers in wyoming margie--!! lol happy geocaching archuka--cheyenne, wy and yes i am an avid benchmark hunter also found several out of the way things no others would have seen or found out about --!!!
  14. i would like to know too -- sometimes i think would be handy info and if in another place at least you could contact one of the watchers that would be close to the cache so maybe they could go look at it and fix it if necessary too -- thats my 2 cents--! archuka--cheyenne, wyo happy geocaching
