  1. I'm sorry, but I have to say that this is not cool. I have always assumed that when I prepay for a geocoin that my money is therefore taken and used to make that specific geocoin. When I do a presale that is exactly what I do with the money. I wonder what Judge Judy would say.
  2. Just a shameless bump by me. Presales will end in 8 hours. Thank you again to all
  3. Hi Everyone I just wanted to let those who missed out on the sale or who are interested in ordering more Lobster geocoins know that we have decided to do a presale for some additional coins from now until midnite on September 11th (Denver time). We made the decision to do a remint but I was unsure as to how many coins I should order. I've received a number of emails from people who were unable to purchase coins and I would feel horrible if they missed out due to me not ordering enough the second time around. Because of that I will be taking presale requests for the next two days. I plan on ordering a small amount of additional coins for those who may have missed out on the presale or who are reluctant to take part in a presale. I have done a presale in the past and everything went smoothly. I expect these coins to arrive within 2-3 weeks of September 12th. I will keep everyone updated through my website and also in the forums as to the progress of the coins. Here is a link to the presale page: http://www.dorkfishcoins.com/cart/index.ph...ex&cPath=36. Thank you to those who has written to say such nice things about these coins. We both loves these little coins and couldn't be more thrilled with the response they've received
  4. Johnny Cash - Sunday Morning Coming Down
  5. These turned out absolutely amazing! Very nice job Tsun I'll take the big bertha edition. You shoulda stuck with my names, hehe
  6. Please do not torture cachers with these coins as our Citrus friend suggests, lol LionsLair, that is a good suggestion in regards to the remint. We are still unsure if or when we will remint but I like the idea of not doing a remint in black nickel due to all the plating issues I've had in the past with that particular metal. We'll definately keep everyone updated. Thanks again for all the great compliments We still have a few live lobsters and Twin lobsters left. Thx!!!
  7. Ahhhhh shoot, I just saw this post. The individual boiled lobsters are sold out but I still have the Twin boiled lobsters. If you'd like me to bring a set of those for you I'd be happy too Just let me know & I am so excited to see you again!!!!
  8. Thank you It looks like the Albino Coins are close to being sold out. I thought I'd post a picture of the Yellow Lobster Geocoins also. While the yellow lobster isn't quite as rare as the albino it still is pretty unique in that only one in thirty million are yellow. We also made this edition glow in the dark.
  9. I am so very excited to announce the arrival of the Northern Atlantic Lobster Geocoins. These coins were made in partnership with the geocacher Shedew and turned out better than either of us ever imagined. We currently have 6 different versions available for purchase. Here is some information and pictures of the coins. Stats: - 2 inches x 1.236 inches x 3mm in thickness - Die cut coin with 4 cut outs - epoxy coated - All coins are $9.25 each except for the Twin Boiled Lobster edition. That version comes in pairs of identical coins with matching tracking numbers for $17.50. - trackable at geocaching.com with unique lobster icon - 500 coins minted, about 400 available for purchase. We may do a remint of any version. - A portion from the sale of each coin will be donated to the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. You can read more about them by clicking here: http://www.whoi.edu/. Here is a link to view and purchase the coins: http://www.dorkfishcoins.com/cart/index.ph...ex&cPath=36 The picture below is of the Red Boiled Edition. The picture below is of the very rare Albino Lobster. It is estimated that only 1 in 100 million lobsters are albinos in color. This particular one glows in the dark too!
  10. I just listed one of my editions of my Rainbow Bridge geocoin on ebay. Here is a link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=110285164008. I'm so sorry for the tragic loss of Tod. I hope this helps his family a bit.
  11. Does anyone have an extra porcupinefish geocoin that I made? Not my version 1 coin but the nontrackable porcupinefish. Thanks!
  12. Love these & love the novel you wrote too
  13. I have decided to post a brief statement as to why I no longer use Paula to produce any of my designs. In early 2007 I had a coin that I needed help in putting together. The person I normally used to help draw my artwork had been under the weather and therefore was a bit behind in his work. In speaking to a few other artists, who were also very busy, I was given the name of a coin vendor who graciously offered to mint the coin for me and suggested Paula as someone who might be able to draw it for me. I spoke with Paula and she assured me that she could put together my design in the manner I wanted in a timely fashion. She did a quick drawing of one area of the coin and I really liked her artwork so I paid her to finish the design. I then sent her all the information she would need to design the front side of that particular coin. The backside could only be completed once the front side was done. Over the next 3 months I had Paula put together a number of different coins for me. They were all done in a very timely fashion and I was satisfied with all of them. However, during that time period I continually asked her about the first coin I had hired her to do. I received a number of excuses along the way as to why the artwork was not completed. Throughout this process I was given the impression that she was working on the design and that it was almost finished. In early June I began asking her on a daily basis where my artwork was. I heard a number of times that she would email it to me the next day. I was very nice and polite throughout this entire process because I really wanted my artwork. However I did express my concern in an email about how long it was taking her to finish that one side of the design. Finally I received the artwork for the front side of the coin and was extremely disappointed. It looked to me as if the design had been put together in just a matter of minutes and it was no where near what I had asked for. At this point I was extremely frustrated. I felt as if I had been lied to for 3 months time when I had been told that the design was being worked on. I contacted the coin vendor and spoke with him about it. He generously agreed to take my credit with Paula if she would not refund my money. I sent her an email letting her know I no longer would be using her services and that I would like my money back. Instead of returning my money she chose to take the credit with the coin vendor. Shortly thereafter I received a refund from the coin vendor. At that point I made the decision to no longer associate myself with Paula. I chose to terminate our business relationship and our friendship. There were other contributing factors to this decision but none of them belong here. The bottom line is I was mislead to believe that my coin was being worked on when it was obvious that it wasn't. That was unacceptable to me. I have never disputed that I think Paula is a great artist and is very good at using Photoshop (or whatever program she uses). I have always praised Paula's artistic abilities to anyone who asks me. She is very good at what she does.
  14. I don't post alot in these forums, I try to stay neutral on many topics but this one hits very close to home for me. I think some kindof system where people could rate their experience with coin artists would be wonderful. I am always looking for new people to help with my artwork and I think a system like this would expose me to more potential artists or people who know how to use graphic type software, which is fantastic! I also think it would protect people from possibly being ripped off by immoral people. I've had a number of people write me to ask my experience with coin artists I've used along with mints too. I have always been more than willing to share my input in hopes that it will help that person have a positive experience when making their geocoin. I have had very rewarding experiences with one of the artists I use alot and I had a negative experience with another artist that I no longer use. I know the frustrations first hand of working with someone who continually promises you the artwork you've paid for but always falls short of delivering. I also know how frustrating it is to see your friends & fellow geocoiners go through similar experiences with the same person only to realize they will never receive their artwork or the money they paid up front for their design. I honestly feel it would be extremely positive if there was a system in place where we could share our experiences with coin artists without people-bashing and drama involved. That's just my 2 cents.
  15. That is so cool!!!!! Send me your address & I'll send you a couple of whales
  16. I've searched for a thread to post this in but I didn't see one. I received a very thoughtful gift in the mail today from The Pathtag Fairy. That was so sweet and kind for The Pathtag Fairy to think of me. Thank you so much! I love this little coin and will add it to my large keyring of pathtags I've received! Off to log my pathtag on the website. Thanks again!!!! And if someone knows of a thread just for this pathtag could you let me know so I can post there too? Thanks!!! Karma
  17. Steph, I am so thrilled that I was able to introduce you to the perfect man for you. When I first saw Cody I instantly knew that you two would hit it off. I knew he had a drinking problem but I was sure that you two would eventually be able to overcome that. I hope that the days (and nights) ahead will be filled with lots of fun & excitement!!!
  18. I've decided to go ahead and mint more of the Antique Copper Rainbow Bridge Geocoins. I've received numerous emails from people who missed out and I'd like to give everyone the chance to own one (who'd like to own one). I don't anticipate having these in hand for another 3-4 weeks & I am going to place an order for 100 additional coins. If you'd like to reserve one or more please send me an email & I'll make myself a note and invoice you when the coins arrive. The remainder of the coins will be listed on my website after they've arrived and been hand inspected. I will still be doing a second pet memorial coin(s) within the next few months. Due to the economy my funds are limited and I haven't been able to mint as many coins as I'd like this year. I think it'll be worth the wait though Thanks everyone!
  19. This last Saturday I met up with Team Fireboy, Broken W & LoriDarlin for lunch and a fun (but hot) day of caching. While at lunch Jodi of Team Fireboy reached into her bag & withdrew 2 Wishing Coins and handed them to Lori & myself. I'm pretty sure both of our mouths dropped and hung open for quite awhile. She told us that she was asked to give these to us & both of us were at a loss for words. What a beautiful coin. I am so excited that I received one of these. Thank you so much Wishing Coin person
  20. After returning from a fun camping trip with CrazyCaveLover I discovered that I had received one of these great coins in the mail while I was away. Thank you for sending one of these coins my way, I really appreciate it. The sentiment behind this coin is really touching & it means alot to me that I was sent one. Thank you so much!!!
  21. Yesterday I received a wonderful surprise in my mailbox. I'd heard talk of the Imagine coin before but I hadn't seen a picture of it yet. This coin stands for everything I believe in, I absolutely love it. Thank you so much for the coin & the CD with the song on it. I will always treasure this precious gift. Thank you!!!!
  22. These turned out really cute. Very nice job!!!
  23. I just now logged onto my computer & my mailbox is flooded with emails. Quite a few of them are from people wishing me a happy birthday. Now how the heck did people know it was my birthday? I can probably count on one hand the people I might have mentioned this to. A little ways down I see an email from Tsun asking me if I had checked the forums lately. Uh-oh was the first thing to come to my mind. I am floored with all the warm wishes from people. Thank you so much! All your kind words mean so much to me. And yep, Tsun is definately going to get it. While I can't type the words I'd like to say here she will definately be getting an earful in an email here very shortly. But trust me when I say that even if I drove to Montana to deliver a world of hurt to her door I'd probably be the one walking away in pain, lol. So I'll just send her threats from afar. I would've posted here alot sooner but I was on the road all day yesterday driving home and had no idea this thread had even been started. Thank you everyone for the warm birthday wishes. I'm glad no one asked me how old I am cause then I would've had to lie. And I'm also happy that nobody wrote in any embarassing stories about me. Although Lori does have some pretty good evidence. The photo she posted ain't nothing, lol. YemonYime - dude you crack me up. I must've partied way too hard cause I have no memory of that little incident you mentioned. Way too funny. Your posts always make me chuckle. And for Pete's sake (not TMA) please stop posting that photo!!!! Or I'll send Tsun after your butts & you definately don't want that. Happy birthday dimkasmir & bluecherry. Thanks again everyone!!!!!
  24. I also received one of these great coins at GWVI. Very cool! Thank you!!!
