  1. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-cumbria-14821267 I read this and thought just how do you not act suspiciously when caching in a wood!
  2. I am a 2 year old springer/collie cross the bloke that goes with me is 47 he seems to enjoy it bless him!
  3. Hi I started out caching withe the whole of UK 1:50000 and had no problems with it the maps were alright to use but then I treat myself to the whole of Cumbria 1:25000 and yes reading the map is slightly better Not twice as good though! Finding a geocache is no easier finding a right of way is a bit easier!
  4. Wasn't the first, but it is the oldest in England: View from Coombe Hill Sorry, I meant the first hide they found in the video.. the one in the puddle, which they placed back in the puddle. The log sheet had been signed a few times which suggests that it's genuine and been found before but you're right... it's a really daft place to hide a cache. Puddles like that are usually the result of farm traffic. You can image what's going to happen to that container the next time a tractor goes over it. Does anyone recognise it.... presumably it's not a million miles from the Coombe Hill cache? Well I thought the first "find" was awful as Mike enthusiasticly gushed there will be swaps inside look there's a note book and a pen we will leave this photo in it! The ammo box find would have been a much better find to show to the BBC audience. Who would replace a micro cache like the first find back in a puddle..............I ask you lol
  5. I wonder if you can help me, I use a Satmap active 10 and download cache pages as .gpx files using satsync. How come when I hover the curser over some of the cache icons ( look like parcels) and I press the joystick the "web page" will appear last 5 logs and the hint. and when I hover over other "parcels" and press the joystick I dont get the "web page" displayed? I can always access the "web page" using the POI files but some times it can be difficult to determine which file is ascosciated with which icon(parcel) I found your user name from the forums after you gave another user some advice about setting the gps to degrees and dec mins, I spoke to the guys at Satmap and he struggled to understand my problem When you downloaded the gpx did you specifiy v1.0 or v1.01? You''ll need to specify v1.01 to get the whole of the cache info. Rob. Thanks I have found it now! I had not noticed the tiny dropdown at the POI point how could I be so thick! Sorted now but now I need the snow to melt

  7. First post so please be gentle.....................I use a Satmap active 10 plus and use satsync to import caches as POI trouble is if I dont change their name before saving to a folder when I tranfer them to the Satmap internal storage as a gpx file they are just listed as GC1WN34 not a problem you would think ................if the satmap displayed the poi on the map with the same tag it doesn't it knows the real name in this case dalton market place the gpx file holds the last 5 logs and the hint but because of this I struggle to tie the two together any ideas?
