  2. Thanks for sharing that with everyone. I know I appreciate it. Have a great caching weekend!
  3. I would like to make signiture items as well, but I don't want to put out the effort because all the caches I have gone to recently have old toys or socks in them. My kids and I havn't taken something in a long time. I sometimes feel as though the things we have to give away are "too good" for the kinds of caches we run into. Maybe it is were I live. I just wish people would trade fairly or not at all. One thing is good though we have been to some beautiful spots and that is usually reward in and of itself. Just a feeling I have been having for awhile and wanted to vent.
  4. I was visiting Fort Vancouver in Washington State when I noticed there was a benchmark on the ground right below the barracks sign. I took a waypoint to see if I could find it when I got home but I can't seem to locate it. Any help? I searched by zip code but it didn't have anything close to my waypoint calculations. It is a triangular disc one. It has Apr 9 parcel in thr triangle part and 1973 below the triangle. Thanks in advance.
  5. Are the wooden nickels used as a trade item or are they a gift to the owner of the cache so they know who visited their cache. I ask that because a lot of them say "so and so was here". Just wondering thanks
  6. I am a woman and I love it so much that I am the one who sets up our route for the weekend finds. I also research all I can by using these forums and the website itself so I can keep up on the latest. I am on this site everyday. I am just setting out my first TB and my first cache. So excited! My two daughters and my son and husband equally like caching as well.
  7. Well, I like castles and they have moats so thus castlemoat. I also bought the domain many years back but since sold it. Now it covers me and the whole family.
  8. I was kind of thinking about something cast metal, something sturdy yet small.

  10. I am releasing my TB soon, that is after I pick a TB and I was wondering the best way to attach it so that it doesn't come off later down the road. Any experiences or lessons learned along the way? Thanks
  11. But, if they are too unique or too "good" then they get lost or stolen. We need to find a happy medium. Whatever that looks like. I know people purposefully pick ones that are ugly so they don't get stolen.
  12. Last weekend was by far the worst caching items I have found. One dirty sock, some paper clips and a lego kit from Mc Donalds. My kids were less than amused. Keeping quality high for caches is good if only for the reason that it doesn't break a little kids heart when they have hiked up a mountain all day to find nothing.
  13. Thanks guys, I just wanted to do the right thing.
  14. Hi, I was just wondering if printing the official geocache sticker is allowed? I am looking to save a few bucks is all. Thanks and hope I don't offend.
