I have a Droid Incredible - just found my first cache today with it. As far as being on a mountain or in the woods (I live in Denver), GPS functionality works fine. And yes, I do have a warranty that WILL cover it if I drop it in a river (as long as I retrieve it so it can be returned), step on it, crack the screen, etc. I pay for that extra coverage, but I use my Droid hours every day, it is in fact a PC replacement in many ways, and with geocaching it's just going to get used even more. High end smart phones are definitely going to bring in more people to the hobby, so support those of us getting into the hobby with a droid, iPhone or whatever. If we love it enough, we'd probably all eventually upgrade to a more indestructible unit.
