  1. So just to re-cap , the big compass directs me to the cache that I am currently seeking , the little compass directs me to the nearest cache whether I am seeking it or not . Correct ? Also you say that I can modify the display through settings , correct ? Thanks for your help.
  2. when I try to go to a geocache and I go to compass it shows me a screen that has 2 compasses on it. One large one about the size of a silver dollar and one a little less than the size of a dime. It gives me the name of the cache at the top and the distance from the cach. What is the purpose of the two different size compasses , which one leads me to the cache and what is the other one pointing to ??

  4. This seems to happen to me periodically. I get into the geocach website plug my oregon 450 into a usb port and try to write something to the device and it says device not found. I update the drivers , update the usb software and it still does not recognize the device. If I got to the computer screen I can open the device so somewhere in the system it recognizes the device. Any thoughts?
  5. I have an Oregon 450 - I have trouble using the compas to find coordinates that I enter by hand. I primarily use it for Geocaching - on puzzel caches I get new coordinates to find. I key in there coordinates under the find coordinates , but when I go to the compass screen it tracks to the last geocache I searched for , not the coordinates I entered. Also why on the compass does it show two compasses. One big one and a small one in the upper left had corner? Thanks in advance ..
  6. I know how to develop a pocket inquiry and how to load individual caches into my Garmin Oregon 450 , but how do I load a pocket inquiry into my GPS. Also while I am asking , how do I empty caches from my Garmin Oregon 450 when I am done with them ? Any help is greatly appreciated. Silent Green Man

  8. I want to give one of my geocoins that is out in the wild to my sister to track , how do I do that ?
  9. I gave my sister a geocoin for her birthday , I had it regestered on my account , how can I transfer it to her account ?
  10. I had placed a trackable in September 2010 and revisited the site in December and the item was gone , but no one ever registered it , what are the advantages or disadvantages of marking it as missing.
  11. What "happens" when you mark a trackABLE MISSING? One of mine was placed in a cache in southern Ohio on October 21st, 2010. The person who placed it there checked back in late November and said it was not in the cache. What does marking it missing mean to the system?
  12. First thanks for the information . What is AKAIK ? How can the code on the coin be secret ? Anyone who picks up the coin can see it. I think I get the TB code now, it is a code assigned by geocaching.com to track he coin without keying in the number on the coin. Finally the activation code, only used when activating the coin. Bonus question. If I want to sell a coin that has been activated can I deactivate it and then sell it and supply the activation code? Many Thanks for the information
  13. when I activate by geocoin , I have to enter the code on the coin and then an activation code. Once activated the system returns a code that I dutifully write down. What is the purpose of this code ? When would I use it or be asked for it ?
  14. I have been in e-mail discussion with an existing cache owner about adopting his cache since he is no longer in a position to maintain it. What does this mean ? I don't mind doing it , I assume it maintains the same name ,same code same directions . Do I have access to any of the data like moving the coords a little or changing the description ? I am new to all this , I don't mind making the adoption , I don't mind maintaing the cache , I just don't want to change anything I shouldn't or offend the original owner. What if I change the size or style of the container or want to add a a parking coordinate ? Who controls the cache listing ? Thanks for your input.
  15. I purchased one of these but there is no indication on how to get an activation code . it has a PC and then a 4 character code but nothing on getting an activation code. Any suggestions?
  16. It is a Tengwar 2010 wanderlust , I need an activation code , I have gone to coinsandpins.com and key in the coin ID and it tells me it does not match their data base.
  17. I am new to all this and recently started buying geocoins , I have bought from various companies and some on e-bay from private people, when they send me the coins they do not have activation codes but often refer me to a web site. On several occasions I have gone to the said web site and entered the coin code and did not get an activation code . Now what ?
