I served in the Army as a Military Policeman from August 78 till April 84. I was stationed at Rhein Main AFB as a 42nd MP Gp Customs Inspector. Good times. One year at Ft. Eustis Va. Almost two years at Patch Baracks in Stuttgart Germany. I've carried a badge and a pistol from 1978 till now. For some the military changes you alot. For others very little. For me the military made me grow up earlier than I had planned. All in all it was the best move I ever made (besides marrying my wife). My son is thinking about joining the service. I hope it will be in peacetime but even if it is during peacetime it can change overnight.

I love FTF's. My better half doesn't care about them at all. She never logs her finds (unless its a challenge or she snags a TB). If Im the STF then I am STF. No biggie. We are pretty new at this but I keep seeing threads of fellow cachers who get really upset about non loggers. Its a game/great hobby...have fun!

I would be happy to receive either one! You should get what you asked for. If they messed up then they need to make it right.

It was a close call between Area 51 and my Wolfhaven coin.

I believe the military geocoin that was produced several years ago is not supposed to be sold or traded - it was given out only as a gift to people who were serving or had served as active military. (The producer very kindly sent me one to gift to a geocaching friend who's retired Army but doesn't use the forums.)
I served in the Army as a Military Policeman. I see on EBAY that there are military coins from all the services for sale. Are these the ones you are referring to. I was stationed at a Barracks that had all the services there. I would like to get them but if these are on the do not sell list then I will not get them.

I guess I forgot how I deleted the caches before. I upgraded to the GPSMAP62s a couple of months after I bought the etrex. After reading your responses I do recall that was how I did it before. I gave the etrex to my son when I got the 62s and figured I would get rid of the already found caches. I guess when I was deleting some caches off my 62S I just tried to do the same with the etrex. Maybe next time I will engage my brain when switching from gps'r to gps'r. Thanks for the help.

I have a Etrex Venture HC. I've had it since August. I can download Caches and it works fine but when I try to delete files off the gps it does not show up on the usb drives. I have two other gps's (GPSMAP62S) and the pc finds them with no problem. I tried different cords and the same result. Any ideas?

We got the Tardis geocoin yesterday and the whole neighborhood could tell. My daughter screemed so loud it woke my son and got the dog all hyper. Needless to say she was exited.

You are definitely FTF. I have had quite a few finds where I did not need a gps to find the cache. I had an experience where my daughter and I were a FTF on a cache. I was surprised to find someone had claimed FTF when we got home. I emailed the guy and after a few "What was in the cache?" "What did you take" "What time did you find it?" type questions he realized he was a little late. He didn't realize that on some logs there is a FTF section. All he saw was a blank log below the cache info on the log. Thats why I check out all the pages/sides of a log to make sure I am first. It was also my daughter first FTF.

We got the Area 51 coins today and should be getting a Tardis coin shortly. Just a newbie in the geocoin collecting department. To many coins and not enough money!

We received our coins today! They look great. Thanks for making these great coins. Looking forward to the new ones!

When we first started 7 months ago we were very lucky. We signed up for a geocoin challenge in Richland, Wa. We had to find 9 caches. Only one was difficult to find. This challenge was set up to help out newbies like us. It didn't take long to realize I was hooked. Give in to the madness.

The problem I am having is the only way I have been shown how a non premium member can log a Premium cache is to insert the cache number in this (www.geocaching.com/seek/log.aspx?wp=GCxxxxx). When I do that it does not show the trackables in the cache it only shows the logging it page. It doesn't show the TB's in the cache so you can log them as found it..discovered it..ETC.

I am a premium member and my son is not. We went to a premium cache and he took two TB's. I was able to get the cache logged on his account. I had to log the TB's under my account. Is there a way for a non premium member to log a TB found at a premium cache? I am a new premium member and am unsure of the protocal as far as regular members going to Premium caches. Any guidance and/or help would be appreciated.

That worked. Thanks alot for your help. I am still learning how to use the 62S.

I loaded a cache I had previously found on my gps. I also loaded it on to my wifes GPSMAP62S and my sons Etrex Venture HC. I also loaded about ten other caches. Had no problem until we looked for the previously found cache. It was not there. I looked through every spot it could be. It was not on any of the three GPS's. I hooked mine up to the PC and looked for the gpx file. It was there. I tried to reload the cache and when it said it was already on there I overwrote the info. I put the cache back on and tried to find it on all the menu's (geocache, recent finds, waymarrking, etc) and could not find it. The gpx file is there. I know on the etrex if I reloaded a previously found cache I would have to look in recent finds to locate it. It was not there. Any ideas?.

What geocoin do I want to see made. I have lots of ideas. I guess the type I want to see made is the different kinds of jobs there are in the military. The ONE I want to see most made is a Military Police coin. I spent 6 years in the MP Corps and I see a lot of challenge coins from all the different kinds of commands in the Army. Even though I have been out of the Army for 27 years I still have lots of fond memories of the great people I worked with and all the places (mostly Germany) I visited.

I found one that was hidden under a small rock. You guessed it..it was a baggie with a pile of mush for a log. It was just off a busy street and beside a sign with nothing around for 50 yards.
