  1. is there a way to edit a previous post of mine? tx
  2. okay - so not so bright am I... is there a way for me to edit my original post here? I want to alter the waymark code slightly (add a * on each end...) so if someone plugs just the code into Google, they don't land on this page and get the link to the answer... (vs. working through the puzzle to determine that it's a waymark code...)
  3. funny - I was just on this website yesterday looking at the journals but it never dawned on my that they sold 'special' pens also...
  4. excellent! I Google by nature but never considered doing in for a forum search... geesh I need more coffee! I will try several of these options - my kids are pen junkies anyways - so more is better!
  5. Thank you, thank you!! That is where I want a person to land, but had received feedback (from 3 diff. people) saying a log in was required. I have never logged in to the site either. But today, when I tried - USING my username and login from here, it would not allow me. I received a message staying the username/log in did not exist or had not yet been validated... Oddly enough - I tried again just now, and it did allow me to log in... Okay - but what is most important is knowing if someone without an account can still see the info. And apparently, they can. THANK YOU!
  6. okay I could not find an off-topic topic - sorry and I tried the Waymark forums link (down below) apparently my username/ log in here is not valid there?? and they have to approve new accounts??? anyways, really what I need is a few guinea pigs that do not have a Waymark account I want them to do a search and see what they come up with I was using Waymarking as an untraditional clue for a starting point (not for a cache) when I search, I can access the info every time but I have had two people tell me that an account is required to get the waymark info using the waymark code... if someone(s) could try this and tell me what you get, I would very much appreciate it... Waymark Code : WM3TTZ Go directly to the virtual site, home page, use first tab option to search, enter the code only. TIA!
  7. sorry - I tried to do a search with no luck - only one word met the 5 letter minimum for a search, and it kept crashing ( a few records maybe???) - anyways, my search was "best pen wet paper" I know there have been posts that discuss the best pens to keep on hand, and good inexpensive pens that will write successfully on wet or damp log paper. Can anybody nudge or SHOVE me in the right direction?? Thx! (Trying to get some more stocking stuffers here...)
  8. tx for the info! I finally got 2 sketchbooks (one for me and one for daughter), but they are still blank our first attempt to find 2 different letterboxes was a complete bust. Hopefully we can try again this week...
  9. lol, brslk in fact I have (several times ) left the house without my GPS and have still been able to complete some from memory but usually requires another trip and, haven't learned quite yet and i almost always have a pen, or two, in the car but rarely have pockets and often walk off without a pen (unless i know it's a micro/nano or BYOP) in regards to other posts about signing even if the log is full/damaged/missing... there is no way to fit even a scrap of nada in some of these nanos concept is nice execution is illogical...
  10. Where do you buy or what do you use as a log book for the letterbox stamps? I would like something a little bit nicer than just a notebook. Do people buy journals or passport books, is there something specific for this? Also - do people generally hunt the letterbox caches that are registered with this website, or other sites, or any? I did find some listed on anouther forum - but they have directions vs. coordinates for searching out the letterbox. TIA! Just growing my addiction...
  11. mine appeared as a frowny face to me as well - but maybe it looks differently to others? I qyickly uploaded an old compass, b/c I was more interested in learning and playing then setting up a perfect profile (I can work on that during a rainy day, right??). If you were wondering about the 'smileys' that are referred to in the logs - like if someone logs in and says "Thanks for the smiley."... THOSE smileys will show up on your maps for any caches that you find and log as "Found It". (hope that makes sense...) Happy Caching!
  12. voted! tx I did not realize there was no category - maybe b/c some CO's will note in the description that it is a nano. That's okay too. It sure helps me!
  13. I have found that some say micro and are really NANO. To really understand the size of a nano - this is my small 11 yo holding one next to a dime... http://img.geocaching.com/cache/log/d3e563...91dbc5bddb8.jpg (i hope that worked...)
  14. I have noticed that some people will come back and post their smiley and say - finally on my x trip here, I found it. So no original DNF. I am working (okay, trying anyways!) a multi-cache now. I tried Stage 1 without success and posted a DNF. The cache is about 16 months old, and only 9 people have posted. I am thinking that many (many?) more have actually attempted this, but not gotten past the first stage. It made me wonder how hesitant people are to post a DNF. Is it (really) considered a sign of failure or defeat? Is it a 'bad' thing? I haven't given up, but I did not find (yet!)
  15. I have several questions about this challenge and not sure where to ask. I have reviewed the Geo-Challenge "Passport" information, but the only contact info is a snail mail address for the completed voucher. Does anyone have any contact info, or know enough about the program to answer questions? Tx!
  16. i love reading the details and am guilty of reading ALL of the entries sometimes just trying to find the extra hints...
  17. i got the Kudzu - cute (but true too!)
  18. I am in GA and would love to do this! I will send my info by PM. tx
  19. We saw some at Staples - I think it was $5.99??
  20. love it! i have had a rough week - I work from home, so i COULD sneak out the door anytime. But I have been so busy researching and plotting, and I haven't done my work!!!
  21. oh... and what is the check box for in the 2nd to last column??
  22. When doing a search for caches, is there a way to sort the results (besides the default of distance from starting point) - I would like to sort by the newest placed caches, the last found date, level of difficulty (maybe), those with trackables, and maybe the most highly visited (to place trackables that haven't travelled much). I am not seeing any way to sort the results, and trying to scroll through 10 pages is very time consuming. Also, if I order some TBs - do I get to choose what design in on the backside, or are they blank? When I go to the order page, I do not see an option for different TBs (like you do for the coins). Are they all just plain, unless they come from a special event?? TIA!
  23. I actually started collecting the bracelets after my father received a heart transplant. He is big into the organization of Source One a group for donors and recipients. He gave me a bunch of bracelets with "donate life" on them and I use them to place in caches, since than, I started collecting all bracelets as I found them... Oh... Source One?? I will have to look into them (and look for your bracelets, if they ever make it this far...) I plan to be an organ donor; hopefully not too soon...
  24. thank you! it looks like i will be researching the handheld units very soon will have to deal with what I have for now, and enjoy the search...
