I just put out a cache called "Pay it Forward" that I'm waiting for approval on. Here's the desription from the cache listing: What do you think? You find this cache and in return place a “Pay it Forward” cache of your own, easy huh? When somebody finds your cache they do the same, and so on and so on. Maybe you can bring a stocked cache container with you and place it on your way home, maybe you already know of a good location, either way this series has the potential to grow very fast. Once you place your cache simply name it “Pay it Forward” with your team name attached, example----Pay it Forward / Team Joe Smoe.---- I would love to see this series reach the far corners of the earth while giving back to the Geocaching community at the same time. Feel free to cut and paste this description if you decide to participate by placing your own PIF cache. You DO NOT have to place a cache if you don’t want to, but it would be appreciated.

I'm a Counselor in a prison. I worked as an Officer. Sergeant, and Lieutenant before that. I've worked for the Indiana DOC for the past 12 years. Not really Law Enforcement but a close cousin.

This makes MUCH MORE SENSE than the "don't buy gas on a certain day" campaign that was going around last April or May! The oil companies just laughed at that because they knew we wouldn't continue to "hurt" ourselves by refusing to buy gas. It was more of an inconvenience to us than it was a problem for them. BUT, whoever thought of this idea, has come up with a plan that can really work. Please read it and join with us! By now you're probably thinking gasoline priced at about $1.50 is super cheap. Me too! It is currently $2.75 for regular unleaded in my town. Now that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us to think that the cost of a gallon of gas is CHEAP at $1.50-$1.75, we need to take aggressive action to teach them that BUYERS control the marketplace.... not sellers. With the price of gasoline going up more each day, we consumers need to take action. The only way we are going to see the price of gas come down is if we hit someone in the pocketbook by not purchasing their gas! And we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves. How? Since we all rely on our cars, we can't just stop buying gas. But we CAN have an impact on gas prices if we all act together to force a price war. Here's the idea: For the rest of this year, DON"T purchase ANY gasoline from the two biggest companies (which now are one), EXXON and MOBIL. If they are not selling any gas, they will be inclined to reduce their prices. If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit. But to have an impact, we need to reach literally millions of Exxon and Mobil gas buyers. It's really simple to do!! Now, don't wimp out on me at this point... keep reading and I'll explain how simple it is to reach millions of people!! I am sending this note to about thirty people. If each of you send it to at least ten more (30 x 10 = 300)... and those 300 send it to at least ten more (300 x 10 = 3,000) ... and so on, by the time the message reaches the sixth generation of people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION consumers! If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends each, then 30 million people will have been contacted! If it goes one level further, you guessed it..... THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE!!! Again, all you have to do is send this to 10 people and DON"T purchase ANY gasoline from EXXON and MOBIL. That's all. How long would all that take? If each of us sends this email out to ten more people within one day of receipt, all 300 MILLION people could conceivably be contacted within the next 8 days!!! I'll bet you didn't think you and I had that much potential, did you! Acting together we can make a difference. If this makes sense to you, please pass this message on. PLEASE HOLD OUT UNTIL THEY LOWER THEIR PRICES TO THE $1.30 RANGE AND KEEP THEM DOWN. THIS CAN REALLY WORK PS...It is my understanding that Exxon/Mobil has not paid one penny of their fine from the Exxon Valdez oil spill which caused millions of damage to both the ecology and the economic well-being of the people in the area. Thanks I really didn't think people would focus on the "how to talk on the internet" as opposed to a simple message. I wasn't really looking for " computer etiquette " lessons. I guess that's what is important. I see now. These folks are right. I will just keep my thoughts to myself. I was looking for input about geocaching issues. I was undecided. Maybe someone could broadened my horizons about it. Now I just don't care. Save the whales and world peace to all, just don't use all caps because folks won't understand you.

Does anyone know how to upload pictures in your "profile" area besides the picture at the top of the page?

I went to a cache called "Lost My Marbles" located in a secluded city park. When I arrivied there were a couple of muggles eating lunch under a picnic shelter. I didn't think much of them and was careful when locating the cache not to give it away. After I signed the log and was on my way back to my truck the guy that was having lunch said "Hey, did you find any of my marbles"? It turned that that he was the one who had hidden the cache. I have met a few other cachers on the trail and always enjoy it.

I agree and and am sorry for this non-sense. The guy called me a liar and I felt the need to defend myself. I'm moving on.

Update. I received this email this morning. Their name will not be revealed.

This is the note that was posted after I pointed out to the mighty SixDog team that they had at least a few caches that have been neglected for quite some time. I would like to ask two more questions on this forum. If SixDog team has at least ONE cache that was repoted missing one year ago and no maintanence has been done to date. What part of my original question was a lie and is it possible that he has to many cahces to maintain?

WOW, I never meant to cause a battle when I asked my question . I guess I have alot to learn about this game, as am I new at it. I don't have the huge stats that seem to be most important thing to some cachers. I assumed this game was about the outdoors, hiking, etc. I don't believe I was being hateful in my forum thread, I was simply asking a valid question about maintanence on SOME caches. I'm going to continue hunting these cahes because I enjoy it and from here on out I intend on staying out of the politics. I didn't think I was insulting anyone but obviously I did and for that I am sorry. Gerbilmafia...increase the peace.

How many caches should one guy place? In my area one guy seems to be all over the place, which is is cool. But what can I do when HIS caches get plunderd and it takes him forever to maintain it or take it offline? I have hunted several of these caches and logged DNF's and noted several others teams have as well. The cahes them selves never seem to be maintained after the initial hide. I'm beginning to get agrivated and I know this is not what this sport is about. Any advise?????
