Ok Greg, you didn't call me on that one! Second one? I would've thought after the first one you were done for the day. I reached 1000 caches! WOOHOO!! FINALLY!! The Original Stash Tribute Plaque was my 1000th cache find! It was so cool. It was hailing, muddy, raining, and a mere 32 degrees out We had fun! If I knew how to post a picture in here I would. We then even grabbed a virtual, an earthcache, and a web cam in Oregon. 21 caches, over 1500 miles driven, seeing my family, 1000th cache find Priceless! I am glad to hear every one had such a good time at our event. PHEW! Super Grrl will be planning the next one in the summer. It will be an ice cream social. Keep your eyes out for that one! Caswell Park, I thought dogs weren't allowed on the trails there but could go camping. I only say that because Judd and I have been scoping out trails to go hiking with our dogs. When we checked out Caswell that is what we saw which doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Ticks, that reminds me time for a vet appointment to get the meds for that. Just reading these today...ROFL...too funny! I feel like I should've tried that. I was relentless in my quest to figure out HTML programming. I researched and got it. Did I mention I edited that page about 25 times before submitting it?! I hope to see everyone there! DON'T FORGET chairs! I'm sorry but I don't have that much seating in my backyard. NEED HELP PLEASE!!!! I am trying to finish my cache page for the event we are hosting. However, I would like to add a background and do not know how. I'd also like to put the text in color and maybe some clip art. I need this explained to me in English please not techie. THANKS!!!!

Ok, The Hubby and I have checked into a park nearby for an event but it costs and well we're not about to throw down money right now for that. Our alternative idea was our backyard. However, that limits what we can do for the adults of the event. The kids we will have activities but I wanted to do a caching activity for the adults. I'd also like to get a feel for attendance. Will anyone be around the day before Easter, that is 3.22.08? Do you think cachers would think its strange to hold an event in another cacher's backyard? Any thougts, suggestions, and opinions would be appreciated. Especially since we're looking to list it in a day or two.

Texas Caching Regions put on a Texas Challenge every year. I hear so many great stories about them. There hasn't been one person that hasn't had a good time. Each year a different region hosts/plans/organizes. It's pretty cool. They will have coins and tshirts made up to sell. They have hunting teams where each region has a team of cachers that will go find the caches at the event. The organizers of the region can not tell their home team where those caches are. There are trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. It's a big competition between the regions. There is a silent auction. There is Camp Little Cachers (I just made the name up) where people volunteer for the day (shifts of course) to have activities and crafts to keep all the little cachers busy so moms and dads don't have to worry about them. There is so much more. Why not have California do a California Challenge? We would have to decide how to divide the state up and form a committee which I would be more than happy to be a part of. I think it would be a blast and definitely a worthwhile event. Is any one gamed? How can we spread the idea and get how our fellow Californian Cachers feel about the idea? I do not know how to insert hyperlinks into these forums so I just copied and pasted the event page and the forum from Houston. Thanks NASCAR FAM! I think it would be a huge hit. I say next year as this will be a huge undertaking just to get it off and running. However, I think we have enough great cachers in California and in each region that we could make this work. Not only make it work but be successful, fun, and memorable for everyone.

I had a great time at the event in Valley Springs. Ok, so we have a logo and a banner...will someone be brining it to GW6 or do you want me to? I know The Hubby is going to volunteer some time. I may, it's just my sister DYFEN will be coming out for it and it's my chance to spend time with her, she lives in Houston. If I can talk her into it and volunteer with me then that would be great. I put the urgency of registering for GW6 in the Houston forums. I know quite a few of them are heading this way for it. I felt it was important to help get the word out. Thanks for the input on a Friday event. We won't be doing it. We are considering an Easter event on the Saturday before Easter. Will anyone be in town? We were thinking of having it at our place. We'd do an egg hunt for the little ones across the street in the park and what not. We are also going to put together a Summer Ice Cream Social this year. Of course that was The Hubby's idea. We are tentatively planning on being at the Micke Grove event by JerryW. I hope to see everyone out there!

I think we may be in attendance for this one. The Hubby was thinking of putting on a pre-GW6 event. That was until I told him that GW6 is on a Saturday. However, do you think anyone would be interested in a Meet-n-Greet Friday night? Or would that be too much? Also I was wondering if any one in CVC thought about creating a logo and a website? I have a logo design in mind but can't put it down on paper. I thought it might be nice if we had one and had a banner made up and take it to GW6. I'm sure someone in CVC knows someone that could help with it. Is this something CVC wouldn't be interested in?

BIG THANKS to you all for replying! I really appreciate it. Unfortunetly it's not a weekend trip from Cali but maybe some day we can make it out there. My husband (The Hubby~caching name) has been there but he only went as far as Beale Street. Being a huge BB King fan he was in heaven. We're not big city people. We grew up in the Bay Area and if you know Cali you know it as either San Francisco or San Jose both big cities. We grew up in surrounding suburbans. We moved to the Central Valley to a small town of 21,000. I know, sounds big but compared to where we lived this is small farming country. Everything is spread out here. Our daughter (Super Grrl) doesn't want us to move. She didn't want us to move out here to the Central Valley. However, the thought of my husband making more money or staying the same and cheaper mortgage has peaked our interest. I'm hesitant because I am a 100% Native Cali girl. I love the weather here and the beaches are within 2 hours. There I'm land-locked. We're campers/hikers/cyclists. However all my years here I've never run into a rattler. There the rattlers are more common and more venemous, right? I'm a big chicken, I know! I just really appreciate the replies! Maybe I will see you all out there some time. Wolf Grrl

Hi there, I'm a cacher from California. My husband and I have been kicking around the idea of relocating to Memphis area of TN (his work is HQ'd there). We're not sure. We don't know if it would be the right place for us. If we do it might happen within 5 years. Can anyone share positive/negative aspects of TN? Hi there everyone! I want to give a BIG THANKS to NascarFam for a fun event. I wanted to inform everyone that CVC tag is ready to be found. Ah...I'm saved from the tar and feathering!

I hope everyone had a Happy Holiday! I got an early present...a new JEEP. I did receive a car charger and windshield holder for my GPS. That comes in handy in the new JEEP. Super Grrl wanted a white Christmas so we took her to Strawberry to Sno Play. We even grabbed 2 caches on the way back. We cached a little yesterday. It was so darn cold! We may go out today as well. I hope you all have a safe and Happy New Year!

That event sounds like fun. I wish I could go. How is everyone? Haven't seen too much cachin' from our CVC's. I received an award last weekend from the Houston Geocaching Society for the "Funniest Log" on Gardens by the Bayou cache. My sister Dyfen accepted it for me and sent it to me. She had several cachers with her in the car and I made my acceptance speech via speaker phone. It was pretty funny. I was wondering when we were having our next event? Did we decide it would happen after the holidays? Oh, I have this traveling cache. It's one of the one's that was grandfathered in. It's a post card cache. I need to place it, it's pretty big though. Is anyone traveling soon to where I can place it and you can go get it? Or I can even meet up with someone and hand it off? Just let me know. Too funny! I just wanted to let ya'll know that Skeet (we named him that since he was found at the Skeet range) has found a new loving home with a co-worker of The Hubby. I'm always up for an event. Let me know if I could help in any way. OFF TOPIC The Hubby found a puppy this morning at the Escalon Gun Range on his way to work. He didn't realize it was a "dump job" until it was too late to get a plate #. He brought him home to me to take to a shelter. I'm relunctant due to it's a bad time of year for shelters. Not to mention, people often get dogs/puppies as presents then decide they can't handle them and either dump them or return them. This little guy appears to be a Border Collie. Or at least part of him is. He is such a good boy. He's in my garage and he hasn't cried once. Most of you know I already have two dogs. I do not have the room for another one. Hi all, I didn't get to SAFARI as I didn't want to miss my daughter's soccer game. However, I had visitors from Texas and we did manage to cache quite a bit. That included the caches near the event. Which we ran into 2 for the road, and Radikel. I must say it was a total pleasure meeting them. They are so nice! Some of you know that I don't cruise the gba.net forums much due to the nastiness, judgements, and rudeness in the forums. I like this one as all of you are so nice. I frequent the Houston Geocaching Society forums. I've met quite a few cachers from there when I vacationed there to visit my sister. Those are some of the nicest cachers I've ever met. I had a blast caching with them and meeting them. They allow me to be a member of their forums. It's a friendly forum! That being said, I have made Featured Cacher of the Month in Houston. It's never happened before, an out-of-stater nomination. I received the most nominations therefore I will be the featured cacher for November. I just wanted to share that with you all. Hi all, I saw Sanruft's note. It was nice to know you still are around Sanruft! Yeah, I'm still active around here. I had a long lull then had a few good caching days and now a lull again. My car was in the shop which slowed me down BIG time! We've been working really hard in the backyard. I want it done in time for The Hubby's 40th Birthday Bash. However, I told him it was for my candle party...I fibbed. It's getting done though. We're doing the work ourselves so it takes a lot of time. Not to mention I started school again. Also, I have a family member dying and that is taxing my emotional energy as I am on the phone with my sister daily. It's all good, I cry but my 9 year old niece who is about to lose her daddy says "it's not time to cry yet." While doing back-breaking work in the yard I met new geocachers. I heard someone at Welcome Home and thought I'd surprise them. They are fairly new to the sport. Very nice couple, they are E.C. n Joy . I had a nice chat with them. I did brag about all you CV cachers, so don't turn me into a liar, got it! Once things slow down again hopefully by November...I can start caching again on a regular basis.
