  11. Here's the Knowledge Books article on Volunteer Cache Reviewers The primary function of reviewers is to read and publish new caches. Your mentor idea is something that's more apt to be done on a local level not via Groundspeak, which serves an international clientele. Local Geocaching groups exist all over. Here's a link to a list of U.K. and Ireland groups. Attending events is the best way to make friends in geocaching, meeting those who can help "buddy". i have looked for local groups but thay seem to be dead tho i did not ask the reveiwer just gloole and the logs of the chaches in my area im working i would love to go tho yep u got me Hi sibermouse. Welcome to caching! If you're out caching and discover a cache that's broken or wet, it's okay to post a needs maintenance. Reviewers will not get notification of a NM log, but the owner will and can get out and fix any problems with their cache. Some reviewers periodically run a list of caches that need maintenance but haven't yet been fixed and will ask the owner to fix it. Editing to add that not all reviewers do this, so if you see a cache that has been under "needs maintenance" for awhile (a couple months is reasonable), and the owner hasn't responded, you can always post a Needs Archived...more of which I explained below in my original message. If you're out caching and see a cache that needs immediate attention, such as being on private property and the owner was yelling at you for being there or something serious like that, you should post a Needs Archived. Reviewers get copies of these and can act on them quickly. If you'd rather not bring attention to it publicly via a NA note, you can email the reviewer of the cache privately through their profile page instead. ok will do

(it's quite near you). There'll be lots of Cornish cachers going and I'd be surprised if you don't meet up with someone local to you who will come out with you and 'show you the ropes' or just talk through caching with you. Unfortunately we can't make it - work keeps getting in the way bad_boy_animated.gif im working then too
  13. I posted this on thread but it got lost in the flow of it so I thought I would start my own thread there seems to me to been a need for more reviewers to sort out both new caches and old one that need a bit of tlc. I have looked there Is no information on how to become a reviewer. also I spotted that for the new peeps to the game other than the bit on the forums for them to ask things there is not much on the ground to help them as a new cacher I wish often wish there was someone in the local area that I could turn to ask questions or to do a few trips with to “ show me the ropes” of both finding and hiding the caches ecg. a buddie though the buddies and reviewers do not need to be the same people it mite help to drop the number of caches that get lost/abandon or archived in the first few weeks/mouths of being published or new blood droping out becouse thay are unsure of what to do thoughts on this........................
  14. a bit off the thread of this but a way of helping with the op's points ( or at lest the theme of them ) and points raised in the topic there seems to me to been a need for both more reviewers to sort out both new caches and old one that need a bit of tlc. I have looked there Is no information on how to become a reviewer. also I spotted the fact that for new peeps to the game there is a bit on the forums for them to ask things but some times as a new cacher I wish there was some on in the local area that I could turn to to do a few trips with to “ show me the ropes” of both finding and hiding the caches that are around the local area. though the buddies and reviewers do not need to be the same people it mite help to drop the number of caches that get lost/abandon or archived in the first few weeks/mouths of being published (all the groups in my area seem to be dead ) I think some sort of goundspeak buddies program would fill the hole were there are no local groups or they are inactive
