Just wondering...

Since I live in South Ga, If I ever stumble across something like that, I would definately grab some for FREE fish bait! Although I have been bitten by a cricket, they don't hurt and you can sell them for a buck 50 for a hundred of them... You could have made a few bucks for your next placed cache! lol...

I'de like to do it so I don't have to go back and forth between the maps when planning a vacation and geocaching.

The third cache I found was in a very public place. I had to be careful of muglers. (funny me calling someone else that as I was one just 3 cache's ago! heck I can't even spell it!!!) I was sure that noone was around when I went for the cache. I just think of how I would want someone to act if it was my cache that was being found. I think that is the best way to "think" when finding one. If someone took the time to place it there, it should be as secret as possible. Though I do think it's a great idea to lead someone to the sport, I guess you have to litteraly judge someone who is around the cache site before letting them in on your secret quest...

I have been known to do an endoe or two, a possible no hand lander or a can can, superman, one hander, you know the basic stuff... I don't plan to do that stuff while geocaching though, but if the terrain suits the ride then... well, I hope it's a tought gps! lol... I have a handle bar connector for the Legend, I just don't want to vibrate it to death!

Thanks for the site, I'm heading to it now and I appeciate all the help! Another quick question: Is there a way to combine the geocaching.com's cache map to topo maps? What I'de like to do is check all the cache's that will be on my route to a florida beach, but I don't want to have to go back and forth between the maps to locate them. Thanks all for you input. I will wait and locate a few more before hiding one myself. Great advice. The alligator is an interesting cache! Is there someplace to look at photos of other caches? Ideas for containers? Unique idea listings? This is the most pollite sport I have ever encountered! One more thing, WH gas prices have went up! You should change in your sig to 50 bucks for a tank of gas! lol...

I don't want to break it... what kind of abuse can a gps take?

I am looking to place my first cache! I am excited but I do not want to disappoint anyone if it is just placed in a regular place. Does the site have to be historical or can it be just an average hidden place? I have read the faqs but I'm not sure how the geocacher would feel about this. As long as it is a safe and secure place to "hunt" I think it would be alright, but I would like your opinion... Thanks!
