  1. Nope, never have marked the car, but I have had to follow my GPS tracks back to car on quite a few occasions; usually when I'm deep in the woods at twilight and/or the sun has gone down.
  2. I don't think I've ever said I'd be back in any of my logs. Although I have been back to redo an awsome cache that I had previously enjoyed so much. There are too many places I haven't seen. So it's hard to say I'd be back to one I have been to already.
  3. I too had this problem. Since my Legend was out of warranty, I contacted Garmin to see how to fix it other than smacking it (which works). They said to send it in along with $115, and they would fix it. I think their graciousness has expired for out of warranty free fixes. The Legend is now relegated to the car dash for laptop map navigation. Also, the thumb stick will not work in the right postion and the rubber around the unit has fallen off long ago! Took a lickin' and sorta keeps on tickin'! I use my 60C for the find. BTW, the line problem is with the display ribbon cable connector.

I was actually referring to the Photo Area links on your website. The Rails to Trails link returns a page not found error. The Gaterhing link just displays blank picture place holders with a red x in the upper left corner. Those links seem to still have problems. Just an observation. The GC.com pictures always did work. Just wanted to let y'all know about about the link problem in your previous posting here in the GC Forums in case anybody tried to look at the pics that way. BTW, great pictures posted on the GC Event pages. Sounds like you guys had a good time. Wish y'all success.

  6. Like Yellow Springs? I actually live in Beavercreek. Yellow Springs is still far out, tho. That's where all the hippies go to retire! Still has the same good old '60s protest feel about it!
  7. Ahhhhhhh! Pigs blowin' in the wind! Count me in as a "probably" from the Beavercreek/Xenia, OH timewarp area of COG and OKIC.
  8. Our The Bug Hops Here bug made it back home to Xenia, OH from the Smokey Mountains in better shape than he left Cheers ... BVCY Swim
  9. I can attest that having a good goal tag attached to your bug, helps it move. The tag is similar to one mentioned in a thread quite a while ago. I have it in a Word document. If anyone is interested, send me an email. Our The Bug Hops Here bug made it back home to Xenia, OH from the Smokey Mountains in better shape than he left Cheers ... BVCY Swim
  10. Sent a message to you yesterday at the above address.
  11. I registered yesterday on the COG site, but never got a confirmation email with my initial login information.
  12. I do check the forums regularly and stay in the background as an observer most of the time. I think it's gotten too dangerous to post in the forums lately. Hopefully things will improve. I am getting good information from the non-inciteful threads, though Cheers ... BVCY Swim
  13. Bummer, I'm gonna be in Bowling Green that weekend for the YMCA Great Lakes regional swim meet and will be unable to attend. I've done many caches in Columbus and was anxious to meet some of you guys. Ben, come on over to the OKIC website and make a posting for your event in our Forums. I'm sure many of our folks would like to attend (Ladybuggers!, dliming, Draegon, etc.). If you want, I can make it for you ... just let me know what to say. Have a good time! Cheers ... 16. It was great to run across all these cachers all in one place! Thank you Bjorn74 for coming all the way to the Dayton area ... enjoyed your company and caching storys. I'lll give you a call to go caching when I'm up in your neck-of-the-woods. Finally got to meet dwmurphy, too. Good meeting you! Cheers ... BVCY Swim OKIC Cache Councelor
  17. Just to add to the list of problems, I'm having problems with using the "~" symbol in an HREF statement ... keeps removing the whole statement every time I submit the change. Used to work until today Here's the link: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=b9881f37-ee2d-4bae-a736-4f486df29960 Cheers ... BVCY Swim
  18. Come on over to the new OKIC website to join-up and make a post in the forums there. I'm sure you'll get some "hits" on your bugs after that . Cheers ... We dropped them off in Pioneers Honor, because it is fairly close to the school. Unfortunately they didn't move at all this weekend. If there's a cacher in the area who could pick them up and give them a boost I'd really appreciate it. The kids are really anxious to get this started, and I'd like to keep the enthusiasm up. Thanks!

  20. quote:Originally posted by beejay&esskay:Maybe something ES Ohio should consider is encouraging other members of ES to have their own user ID. ES College, ES DC, etc? That way he wouldn't be accused of the indiscretions of others and people wouldn't be tempted to think it was just about the counts. I totally agree with you! I hope that's what he will consider - we'll see.
  21. I know ES Ohio (main account owner) personally. I've talked with him and I think he understands the situation now. I've been caching with him on several occasions in the Ohio/Kentucky area, and I can assure you he has actually been to those caches. Logging TBs as he does is not right, but he did say he'd fix that. I know nothing about the benchmarks issue, though. As far as their (team) other questionable practices go, he's going to have to talk with the rest of his crew in other parts of the country. I reckon having kin know the account login name and password doesn't help the situation either. He'll try to make it right. Cheers ... BVCY Swim quote:Originally posted by BrianSnat: quote:I would say some of the suggestions of banning them seem much too harsh. They have created some interesting caches with interesting puzzles in the past and I hope they continue to do so. Ban them, no. How about they limit theirselves to logging only caches, travel bugs and benchmarks that they actually found? Hmmmm, interesting concept. _"You can't make a man by standing a sheep on his hind legs. 23. I'd say that Doc's (Jedi) Wright Brother's VC IS of significant interest as 2003 is the 100th Anniversary of the First Flight by the Wright Brothers! If that ain't significant enough, then what is? Doc already made his case about normal caches not being allowed at this location. It should be approved. I cannot speak for the other VC, though. 24. Actually, we did have a very similar experience, but during the day with finding a fawn sleeping/playing dead in tall grass while hiking to the Coin Fusion cache in Cincinnati, GC1B26. We left it alone and took a picture only. See our 1 Jun 02 log entry. Here's the picture: Cheers ... BVCY Swim Beavercreek, OH
