  1. Sorry, I know this is the GB forum, but as I did not get a response to my question elsewhere I thought perhaps one of you might know the answer to my question. Can anyone tell me what datum the Ordnance Survey maps of Ireland uses? My guess would be Ireland 1965, but I have not been able to confirm this. My reason for asking is that I wish to transfer cache locations to Ordnance Survey maps for a forthcoming trip to Ireland Appreciate any responses, Michael

  3. EMBI We are familiar with the cache Charlotte is in having found it a couple of months ago. It is within a forest area closed to entry because of extreme fire danger, but the cache is located in an abandoned quarry where there is nothing to burn. Our monsoon season usually begins around mid to late July and after the first rains I would expect the closure to be lifted. Other than travel time lost, Charlotte should be OK. The cache is only about 5 miles off of Interstate 10 which heads east through New Mexico and Texas. Hopefully she will be on her way again soon. Amy & Michael

  5. I see more and more caches which have a background design that the cache owner has added. How can I do this for our caches. I assume it is done by adding wallpaper that we would have designed, but cannot figure out how it would be added to cache page. Maybe I am on the wrong track. Michael
  6. Just can't believe how easy it is to confuse East and Upper. You know, like night and day (so similar). No wonder I did not get any responses right off, sorry for the confusion. Upper Hutt is indeed, the sister city of Mesa, Arizona, where we live. We would like very much to do this cache with you Gav if your willing. We will take a picture of one of us with a city welcome sign (or city hall if we cannot find a welcome sign) along with the lat/lon (and caption) and email it to you through geocaching.com. Michael, Team A&M (bajaxplorer@netscape.net)
  7. Well, it's not rocket science after all. We figured it out. Sorry to wast anyone's time on this.
  8. Can someone tell me how to change Charter Member to something else. Want to support the website, but hate being called a Charter Member, sounds too much like, better than a Geocacher. Amy& Michael

    Travel Bugs II

We read your forum pages frequently because we have a great interest in New Zealand and hope to someday have a chance to see it first hand. The point of this reply is that we can appreciate your frustration about not getting travel bugs and would like to help if we can. Not sure how other than to purchase some here and mail to someone there and be reimbursed for them. Perhaps as a gift exchange. Anyway if we can help somehow, let us know. Amy & Michael

  11. We see that our post has been read by a number of people, but have had no responses. Would this be an indication of lack of interest? No one lives near East Hutt? Or...have we not given it enough time? You do not have to be a resident of the sister cities to do the cache, if that has put anyone off. Wished we could come down there and do that end, then come home and do this end.
  12. Looking for a fellow geocacher to do "Sisters" cache (GC4226) with us. If you check the cache site you will see that we need to exchange photos of Sister Cities (East Hutt, NZ & Mesa, AZ) to log the cache. We are looking for someone with a digital camera to email us a picture of themselves at Upper Hutt, and we will email them a picture of us at Mesa, Arizona. Amy & Michael (Team A&M)
  13. Hello geocachers down in Oz. We (Team A&M) picked up Charlotte in Phoenix, AZ yesterday and she is in fine shape. Taking her on a short camping trip this weekend with us before placing her in a cache east of Tucson, AZ where she may continue her journey back to Bec. We are curious to know if any of you would be interested in placing a travel bug in an Australian cache for us so that we could follow it's travels downunder. (Hopefully we could come and retrieve someday.) Amy & Michael
