  1. I have released (3) Travel Bugs. (2) with goals (1) with the only goal of hitting as many caches in 90 days. The ones with goals have many miles moved very few times. The one with no goal has few miles but many caches. I did not put cards on them, but will on any future bugs. They have been fun to watch, and I will do more.

  3. I have done all of my geocaching with a emap, and have no complaints......so far. I just started in January, so now that the leaves are growing it may become more of an issue. So far the e-map has been a great geocaching unit.

  5. My first concern would be that you are relying on all of the caches still being there when the Travel Bug gets to the location. Caches get archived all the time. My second concerns would be that your Travel Bug may not move very fast. Most geocachers are not as dedicated as those of us on the forums. They cache sporadically when time and opportunity allow. They would just leave it (how boring), or worse yet take it with good intentions to get it to the requested location, and just never have time to get it to the requested cache.
  6. Otter boxes are very water proof. Maybe a little spendy for a cache box. I intend to get one for my e-map. http://www.otterbox.com/
  7. Attaching them to something is more fun for both the originator and the finder. We have only found a couple of them, but my daughter really enjoys moving them along. A tag is just a tag, but a hitchhiker...........

  9. I have found that I just don't get as many caches in a day as I would like. I got into this as a fun thing to do with the kids, and a day at the part seems to be as much fun to them as the hunt. My daughter is 10 she always takes time to throw rocks in the water, play on the play equipment, swing etc. Several times I have brought her friends with us. So far my record for caches in a day is (2). It's all about having fun and getting us out of the house.

  11. So far My record is two. I got into this as an excuse to take the kids hiking or to different parks. Darn those kids, they always want to play in the park while we are there [].
