I am a newbie. I set up my account 14 months ago and went out twice....then didn't do it for 9 months. (Go ahead...rant away) But I really enjoy geocaching. So I have started getting back into it. My biggest issue is I don't really have anyone that I personally know in my area that is as interested in it as I am, and I don't want to go alone. Anyway, I LOVE it when I find an interesting hide. For the most part I find medicine bottles tossed under trees. I have seen a couple of very neat ideas that I may use sometime in another area, but I am just now in the process of placing my first hide, so I am starting easy. I have two questions for you:
1. Do you find if you see a hide that you want like and you place another hide similar to it in the next town over, do folks get nasty with you about "you stole my trademark"? And I am just referring to conatiner or hiding location...not the hints and puzzles used.
2. What are some interesting hides you have found along the way that you remember for more than 5 minutes after you drive away?

Still new to the game, but enjoying it all the same! Learned more this weekend about how to hunt. I have an Android based phone with GPS and I use the c:geo app. I have had people tell me to get a stand alone GPS, but for now my phone is doing just fine. One problem I am having...I don't like to log while in the field. I just want to save my finds and log them all when I get home. I can't figure out how to do it. Right now I have to go to my history and look up each one online and log it. Does anyone with Android OS and c:geo app know how to upload all the logs at once?

The first time I ever went on a hunt was at night. It was right after a HUGE snowstorm in the south that dropped 10 inches on us. And the first cache we hunted was in a cemetery. There were 4 adults and 2 kids. We had an amazing time and we were all hooked. We didn't find the loot, because of all the snow, but it was still fun.

I am so frustrated. I just purchased the premium membership a few weeks back. Planning a route for the weekend. I started two days ago creating a route. I finally worked thru all the glitches of why I wasn't getting the query in my inbox, and then today figured out why my phone wouldn't unzip the file. FINALLY, I can open the pocket query in my Geocache app. Problem, you ask? I want to make the list smaller...from a 10 mile stretch from home to the nearest city, I got 156 caches. I am only searching 1 mile off the road I will travel. What I would like to do is review those listings, pick the ones I would like to visit and make a list of only those to send to my phone. Is there a way to do that?

Thank you for thie info. I was also able to find a llink to a list of Mystery coins. Very odd I say the Crappy Cache one for sale on e-Bay yesterday. I love the Devil made me do it and Bell Witch. Maybe one day I will be lucky enough to receive one. I requested to be added to the address book!
