I purchased my Geomate a couple of months ago and I think it's a pretty cool little unit. I recently used it to find a couple of caches on an unexpected trip out of state and it worked like a charm. I prefer to have more information when caching, so I usually use my GPS and Palm...but the Geomate certainly came in handy when I hadn't loaded any area caches into my regular devices. The only problem I've had with it is that I have been unable to mark any caches as FOUND...the feature doesn't seem to want to work on my unit. It's also a little bit of an inconvenience to keep turning it on and off again when you're travelling up the interstate with the hopes of grabbing a few quick P&G along the way, but since it was designed for kids and most kids aren't doing much interstate travel, I'm NOT complaining. I HAVE located two caches with the Geomate that aren't on Geocaching.com so that I can log my find. What's with that?!?!

I hope someone can help me. I'm relatively new to this and am hoping that there is nothing wrong with my GPS unit; rather that I just don't know how to work it. When I enter a waypoint and GOTO, the GPS unit recalculates...gets to 2% and recalculates again...and again...and again. It never stops. Once it starts recalculating, the unit won't stay on any screen for more than a few seconds so I can't gather any information from ANY screen! The only way I seem to be able to get to the caches is by using the satellite screen and wandering around while watching the coordinates. Surely this can't be the way it's supposed to work. In my opinion, the manual that came with the unit is worthless... Is there a simple fix for this? Perhaps a download that I need or something? I hate to have to buy a new GPS...I haven't had this one very long. Or am I just a complete dummy who doesn't know how to work my unit? Thanks in advance.

We found a photocopy of a geocoin today named Timone's Coin. We moved it from Where the River Ends to 4-Way Test, but when I went to log it this evening, I don't know how to locate it. If it had a number on it, I didn't notice. Now, I've moved it and can't log it. What should I do? I feel bad.
