  1. The Missouri forum is independent. I believe webscouter was talking about the Groundspeak board working. And yes, search does work here.
  2. No... I mean when the to-be finder solves the puzzle, THEY enter the new coordinates which display on the cache page when they view it. Miragee: Yeah, I use that... It's not quite "delete all waypoints on accident"-friendly, though
  3. I was looking at some puzzle caches today and saw a few I had solved a while ago but couldn't remember how I solved it. Could the website incorporate a "Solved-Display correct coordinates" option where the user would enter their own coords for a cache, and possibly even include this information in PQs? Thanks, BlueNinja
  4. You should only log it as found once. Go ahead and log a find.
  5. It has been replaced by "Geocaches" and "Trackables".
  6. Coat it with a good epoxy, then sand it. Use 2-part (Not canned!) expanding foam to shape the container. You could drill holes in the foam (it becomes REALLY tough) to insert fake branches. If those don't stick, give the container surfaces a good sanding.
  7. I'm having the same error others mentioned... If I select "hide everything except for owners and administrators", I can't see the coordinates for the final.
  8. Try shift-refresh? That cleared everything up for me.
  9. I also get the error when I try to add a waypoint from the "edit listing" page, but the link from the cache page works fine.
  10. Do I count as an old timer? (You know, I'm kinda expecting that to drag SB to the forums to pwn me.)
  11. My last tennis court proposal seems to have disappeared into the depths of the Groundspeak forums, so here it is again. The original was posted before proposals were being accepted.
  12. Woo! These are awesome! Great job, Ladycacher!
  13. I'm probably wrong, but... 1. A 2. B 3. A 4. B 5. B 6. B
  14. I found a cache on the underside of an electrical box the other day. I was prepared to DNF it in case it was inside, but it happened to be on the inside of one of the legs.
  15. I just hold mine.... tricorder style. I used to use a lanyard, but I dunno what happened to it. No idea why I stopped using it. Maybe because it would look dumb using a "phone" hung around my neck trying to find an urban micro that required a lot of stealth.
  16. I usually cache whereever my parents happen to be driving, if they're going somewhere. I've found everything in town.
  17. Ah, sorry. I had looked at the forum recently and didn't see any topics on searching.
  18. EDIT: I figured out why I couldn't edit that post-it was too old. Last night, I was searching for an old thread, and before I could get to the search page, I was met with this message: Board Message Sorry, an error occurred. If you are unsure on how to use a feature, or don't know why you got this error message, try looking through the help files for more information. The error returned was: Sorry, but you do not have permission to use this feature. If you are not logged in, you may do so using the form below if available. Yes, I'm logged in, no, I have no idea why I wouldn't be allowed to search. New rule? Glitch? Someone accidentally suspended my forum priveliges? Thanks, BlueNinja
  19. Well, I was thinking this would be nice for remote caches (when they're submitted, or the owner can request a number) so the owner doesn't have to check the logbook to confirm finds.
  20. I'm sure I'll get criticized, ridiculed, and otherwise flamed for this, but: How about, to keep people from logging false finds, the site spits out a random alphanumeric code (preferably no longer than 4 or 5 letters) at the time of cache approval. Only the owner of the cache recieves the code, and marks it on the can somewhere. When the finder logs the cache online, there is a field they enter the code in. Would this work? Is it feasible? Has it been suggested before? BlueNinja
  21. Check out geocacher-u's article on bluetooth caching.
  22. All it takes is one person burying an ammocan (yeah, it's against Groundspeak rules, but some n00b could) at Yellowstone and disturbing the crust that's been there for thousands of years to get us kicked out of the NPS.
