  1. yeah, what in the name of heck happened? Was it a small sized run or something? Cmon, I wanted just one, did someone order all of them? And no, I cant trade, dont have tradeables.
  2. I dont agree with hording the toy jeeps, doesnt matter if its a white or yellow which are no longer part of the jeep contests or a green which is part of a current contest. The toy jeeps belong to Jeep, just because its a company doesnt mean you, private Joe Citizen, can decide what will or will not happen to the jeep. You dont own it so you cant decide what to do with it or who will take it next, hoarder or not. If private Joe Citizen releases a toy jeep with a travel bug tag, thats a different story, although I doubt the owner would only want it hand passed on but who knows. I've looked for any toy jeeps in my local area, spanned 50 miles north & south looking in stores so I could release TB'ed private jeeps. No luck yet. And yes, I realize that my acct is holding a green toy jeep, this past wkend I logged them off to a cache but due to rumors I've heard in my area I didnt drop them on the cache page. Next visitor that logs them will have to grab them from me, along with several geocoins & a TB. As far as bugging them on the BB, I dont think it will as... a-work as they will ignore you anyways.. b-the thread will probably get shut down by the mods for harrassment.. or c-have a bunch trolls emailing them & get their accts shut down for harrassment. It all boils down to.. once again Jeep Co owns those toy jeeps, you cant enforce it as you aint the one in charge of them (shrug)
  3. Yup, I did the same when I went to watch my placed CAA-DE cache, it told me I was already watching it. No idea who could be watching it, supposedly making it a MOC would show who is watching it? Maybe be able to figure it out from there? I dont have another cache I can currently make a MOC so I can confirm or deny that.
  4. Thanks Welch & BlueDeuce, I thought I had done it right but then I had a 'turkey' moment so wanted to make sure. Yeah, I posted the TB #'s, not the ahh serial number on the items so they are good to go. No virt logging on my watch, heheh.
  5. Man, not another flipping film can/match container/bison tube hidden in a 50 acre plus wooded area/state park. I mean, come on... if you cant afford a ammo can then at least state that its a flippin micro/small container & dont list it as a unknown size. And then list a lousy hint when the coords indicate its at least 50 ft away with a differiental of of less than 18ft. I'm now planning on placing a mess of match containers extremely well camoed just to get back at certain people. In heavily wooded areas. I could care less if people pass up on my caches or try shunning me, that just makes me even happier Wet shopping bags can be found in caches when people leave them as CITO items but the container doesnt get closed properly. If thats not what Criminal means well then, no idea. :edit for typo:
  6. Uhh, I thought it was the number on the geocoin or TB tag that shouldnt be posted but the one that starts out TB could be posted? As in TBxx123 could be posted but ABC789 (number on the coin) couldnt be. If I have it mixed up then I need to fix a post I made a couple days ago.
  7. Problem with trying to use IP addies is that some of us on dialup are not assigned a set addie, same with a lot of high speed connections, or at least in this area its like that. I've been on both sides of trying to unban ips due to them being used in the wrong manner, its not fun & a total PITA. As I said, interesting ideas though, & as far as the hair sample & handwriting.. sure I can snip a piece from my domestic cat & get ya a left handed sample (I'm a natural righty but can scribble fairly well with my left, heh).
  8. TheStray, Some interesting ideas you put forth, but as a few Law Enforcements types have already said it they would need to have conclusive proof of the person(s) who have supposedly done this. And most likely due to the areas affected LE wont get involved. Anyways, I did want to address one thing... my local caching group doesnt know me but by name on a BB, my profiles have no really id'ing info other than I live in Sussex Cty DE, dislike people who walk on buffer beach dunes, & am a computer geek. They dont know what I look like in person, have never ever met me & so couldnt id me if I was put in a police lineup. What this leads too is... I dont really care for my local group due to, lets just say some things certain people in the group do, so my socializing with them is nil & none. So any area cachers knowing or not knowing if I were a vandal wouldnt be too likely. I also look at caches in many other states, local & not local, run PQs on them, & when caches are mentioned in threads I look at them. Same when I just randomly surf the caches listed. So I'll admit it, I'm the one who stole those caches, & I'll do it again... they were in idaho & alabama right?
  9. You may kick him/her in the butt but its going to be hecka funny if they end up kicking you up even worse. Or the prison boys get to have fun with ya is another possibility. Did any of you ever think that maybe just maybe (as has been said before) that this person is watching this thread, laughing their keister off over you all busting peanuts about this & now will know of any 'things' you may think up? In addition how are you going to prove (as has also been said before when camera suggestions came up) that the persons vehicle thats snapshotted is actually the one that took it? Be careful of what you think you can & cant do, you could be the one that winds up on the wrong side. When people in a mall get shot over a stupid arguement, or get run over because of a bad case of road rage, dont always assume its going to happen to the other person. In this day & age that other person has a very high chance of being you. Stop posting about it, stop making idle threats about it & just go on with your lives.
  10. cool cool cool, got 2 more coins today...Welchs & DayHunters. I got to add a FYI on mine though, it seems all I have left are what I call 'mixed' coins, since theres 3 of us I may have in a set say 2 1.75" with a 1 1.5" coin, or another may be 2 1.5" & 1 1.75". Just want to let anyone that wants to trade know that upfront. Nice coins both sets, although I will have to admit that in my limited experience DayHunters are the funniest I have seen yet. As I see coins, I get ideas, & I must say everyone here has given me some excellent ideas. I miss the fact I no longer have that lightning struck pine in my backyard but I figure it would be too sticky/sappy anyways to make good use of. I hoped all summer one of the nice old oaks, holly or maples would get hit but not this year it looks like. Anyways, cool coins. Later
  11. Gods above, I thought this thread had died, guess not. I will say one thing though... seems the only person that has a problem here & is spewing bull 'that there are people who are tired of seeing this' is you IV. I've yet to see anyone else spew that they are tired of hearing the same stupid answer over & over again. The OP seems to be happy with what he heard, like someone new to using a GPS (Sorry, I refuse to call them GPSr's) he wasnt exactly sure what to ask for, I'm sure its happened before & will happen again so he asked what he thought was a appro question. Some of us politely explained what he really needed, that its most likely 3 party progs he's looking for & what we thought were good ones. I'm gonna jump on the GSAK bandwagon along with Cachemate if you go paperless, but thats only cause the others didnt do what _I_ wanted. I'd put the popcorn icon here if I really cared too, but at this point I dont. I'm out.
  12. Sorry all for the delay, I just finished up my classwork to become a licensed realtor & passed our exams for it last nite..... I want to thank 57' for his awesome coins, I'm sure there will be a packet or two headed my way in exchange for the couple I've sent out recently. On another side note.. I'm going to change my groups wood nicks shortly, instead of doing 3 individual coins I'm going to reduce it down to 1 team coin. Since we usually cache together it was becoming redundent to drop 3 wood nicks. And Clan Dragon's wood nicks on still on the backburner (sorry DragonRebel). Its going to have the same dragon design on it but I havent figured out the front yet. Later. Diane
  13. Hey congrats!!! I believe you earned that one!!! It pays to check the GCF's logs doesn't it!!! Believe me, had I not already found one, I'd have been on my way to that cache as soon as I found out about it. I would'a been on that thing like white on rice on a paper plate being eaten by a polar bear in a snow storm. With dandruff. It looks like the GCF is on the move again, check his/her found caches out! Appears to be headed west, Looks like Wyoming was yesterday! Hey '57, Now I just got to ask this so everyone forgive my ignorance... You say it pays to check the GCF's logs, but other than here how does one do that? I've looked & looked & looked to see if there is anyway to track a specific person but have yet to find one. I can do PQs on the caches in my area which I have bookmarked but at the moment lack a cellphone that can handle those special messages that can be sent to your phone. Thanks for any help, I'm waiting to see if (s)he comes back this way.
  14. And in vehicle GPS units have a high ratio of being stolen lately, there was a new article a bit ago (Late Sept, early Oct I think) that thieves are targetting vehicles with the built in gps's. (shrugs) I guess while they rip off your sound system they rip that out too. Unless ya got one of those removable face plate systems. Me, I got my basic stock ford sound system with built in cd & thats all I ever need along with my handheld Garmin V, if I need more I hook up my laptop with its delorme or hook into my V & us mapsource. But thats just me, YOMD
  15. Reviewer got it up relatively fast for it being Halloween And I've already got 2 local cachers that have found it, WTG guys. BPR, thanks for the chance to do this, its already got my evil mind working on some other non CAA related caches. heheheh Hope everyone enjoys it, its just a small niche of our small state but I think the view will make it worth it. Least this time of year there wont be so many summer tourists clogging our roads, & we dont have sales tax here so come do holiday shopping.
  16. Cool, thanks all for the info. Got wrapped up in releasing my first cache & Halloween so next is to do this. Appreciate it all.
  17. okay, Just got 2 geocoins of mine own, gonna give one to a friend but we wanted to know if its bad form to make a note on say previous caches we've been too. Its a small amount of caches (luckily) & they are in a pretty small area so its not like the coins are going to grab 1000's of miles. Just curious as to what the precendent on this may be, if there is one. Thanks.
  18. Bug spray, bite stick (for bugbites, not snakes) Lg & sm ziplock bags, couple each digi camera, sd disk, batteries, usb convertor for sd disk swag (reduced amount down as I usually only do a couple caches a week) since the bag is shared it has a couple Tbs & coins in it teams sig wood nicks 4 or 5 pens & a nasa space pen, couple sharpies of different tip styles spare notebooks & my letterboxing notebook tissues & napkins paper printouts in small binder state map now adding in old prism with cachemate for paperless but still keeping binder usb cradle usb disks for moving pq's from tower to laptop gsak in a separate bag, least it gets to stay in the vehicle usually.. my laptop. I never travel without it, even to the store for groceries it goes along.. just in case. Yes, I am such a geek
  19. When my & my group pick up TBs or geocoins & go to track them we like to see pics of the items so we can compare them. I realize not all people have the capabilities like highspeed to upload pics or the digi camera or even the extra cash to get a reg film developed so wording in the trackables area 'this is a real metal coin' or 'this is a bunch of washers I strung together that want to go to Washing'tonia' helps us figure out if something is amiss. Pics & added descripts are good IONSHO, I'm more likely to email someone if there seems to be a problem & can be easily figured out. Food for thought & more knowledge added to my mind for when I do my trackables.
  20. I know of 2 caches here in Southern DE & Northern Eastern Shore MD that are boat/kayak/jetski accessible only. With all the lil nooks and crannies our inner waterways have I'm surprised there arent more but then again here in southern eastern sussex at least all waterfront land is being sold for developments, with not a lot of it being protected under state park lands. Me, I already have ideas for at least 1 boat only cache or one really heck of a long walk (well over a mile on sand no less) I may do another water only but havent decide yet how nasty I want to be. We'll see I think. My only issue is I dont jetski or kayak, boat only Ohh ohh, diving caches.... another evil idea pops to mind, wonder how well snorkeling caches would go over here. We do have them silly people that call themselves 'polar bears' my family calls them 'penguins' heheh. Something to make people goo huuummm & bbbbrrrrrrr, hehehehe
  21. Oh dont worry bosspeople I doubt they will have any DNFs on my cache as if they cant figure it out from my info then the clue will point them to the right spot. I was out today getting coords so now I just need to finish off the container, get it placed & get it approved by GC reviewer as I already have state park approval. The travel is one reason I'm not going after this series myself, just cant swing it now but if I could I'd be after it like a goose after corn.
  22. And its well within your rights to not move a 'copy coin' if you chose not too, not saying anyone here would but its also not your right to trash a copy coin. That is if you dont own it personally After seeing what some people in my area & 2 other family areas I'm leaning more & more every day to releasing 'copies'. The idea of just sticking a xerox in a baggie wasnt what I was going to do. Since I already make wooden nicks as sig coins I was going to at least use some blank nicks as the basis for the paper to be attached too. Couple people have given me ideas on using stickers in their place, I just need to find out if I can do it someplace locally to me. Like others I'm not going to supplement someone elses hidden collection cause once my real coin disappeared it will be logged as "STOLEN" on the coin page so they can never ever show it to someone. If they want to admire hidden coins more power to them but not with my coins thank you very much.
  23. nah man, was a good share, around here where I live currently its a lil hard to get lost. We still have woods but mostly the big tracts are small state parks so we cant get lost in them, compared to some of the big parks ya'll have out west. And while driving here its impossible to get lost, you will hit one of the 3 main north-south corridors if you drive e-w long enough, east or west gets ya in water really fast I hope Pooters ankle isnt too bad off, she may have to do a lil rabbit hop for a week or two but hopefully nothing worse. Ya learned a lesson, ya passed it on so hopefully another wont have to learn it the hard way, I know from reading here on these boards I've already got a bag with spares in it. Would just need to add a 1st aid kit if I do anything above a 3/3 but not likely around here, maybe when I go to NC for visits. :quick change of about to above:

    Funny Story

first off welcome to a hobby that can fast become a obession Now, while a lot of us would welcome getting away from military ammo cans we use them for several reasons.. the suckers are usually very water resistant... the metal can take one heck of a beating.... and the size can fit quite a bit in it. I'm suire others will add to this list. Problem is things like 'Otter'boxes are extremely expensive & people will take them for other usages without a second thought, plastic nalgene bottles can be extremely expensive, if you can get them & in the right size/mouth width. Things called 'lock n locks' are good but nowwhere near as tough as a ammo can. I agree we should think about moving away from ammo cans but think about this.. if you put a clear container out there that will be a heck of lot easier to spot.. what makes you think the cops wont blow it up anyways as they wont risk getting that close to it. It has happened already with clear containers, or semi clear.. people get paranoid & think the worst from the getgo. Oh well
  25. :shakes her head & wonders how much time some people have & it must be nice: heheh Anyways, I know of one that is going to make these finders go Hmmm! heheheh How many of the 50 do we have active currently? 45?
