  1. Maybe. Maybe not. Maybe I should have payed more attention to the emails. Spread the wealth I say. Bless the reviewers ... I for one appreciate and respect their contribution to Geocaching. Dang, another mystery to unravel or am I last to know? Doubtful. Being the last to know something is one of my super powers. As to the new guy (gal?), heck, I'm still trying to figure out who Kosh is. Imagine my Geocaching life it it turned out to be Jodi. Yikes! I was just thinking the same thing... They say that what goes around, comes around.

  3. One of the neat things about Basket Bush and Poison Oak is that both are from the sumac family and they often grow in conjunction with each other. So you could say to yourself, "That plant is sessile (has no petiole), therefore, I'm safe." while not realizing that the next leaf over has just set you up for a date with the calamine lotion bottle... Here's a nice example of poison oak and basket bush growing together. It also provides a clear picture of the differences between the leaves. The exercise for the viewer is to determine, based on Harmon's description, what is Leaf A and what is Leaf B?
  4. Very nice addition, can hardly wait for the next "pillow inspired" addition Thanks pals ... yes my pillow whispered to me during the wee hours once again with the following result. Version 0.3.1.1 For one thing I reordered the Yrium's-Pals cards into ascending order. They were scrambled in the previous versions. Sloppy work I say. This edition includes a new "Photo PDF" button on the home page that enables a viewer to view, to print, or to save a procedural document describing how to place a photo into a cache-page desription field. Of course I have no expectation that local Geocachers have a need for the procedure. Mostly I prepared the document because Joe of Map4Nav' once asked me how to post an image on a cache page. That leaves me with one very modest hope, that one person will learn from the procedure, will actually accomplish the task, and will let me know where to see and admire their result. Otherwise I am making good progress with the development tools for the SD Rowdies website. I see that it's past midnight and so I must go to bed and hope that my pillow will whisper to me once again, another inspiration to improve this work in progress. Sweet ol' Harmon SD Rowdies Yes indeed, my pillow whispered a suggestion to me that I couldn't refuse ... to bless and protect the new SD Rowdies Website by adding GTGWOTS to the home page. My pillow made the convincing argument that having a presenc on the Internet would surely lead me into temptation. Nothing worse than being lead into temptation; you know, depending on who it is that's doing the leading. Ain't Glenda th' sweetest thang? Poor ol' Harmon Seems to me that y'all are missin' some FlagMan misprints...
  5. Weedwhacker: 2 Geocaches: 0 Actually, I'm not sure that this is the cache. A previous finder mentioned that he'd repaired the cache with duct tape and I notice that there is some duct tape on the plastic bits. I didn't find anything else that could have been the cache. Perhaps someone who's found "Another Viejas Roadside Cache" could weigh in and say whether this was the cache or not.
  6. Weedwhacker: 1 Ammo Can: 0 Maybe they just weren't that into puzzle caches?
  7. I've had the good fortune to visit the tomb of Qin Shi Huang Di on two occasions so I can vouch for just how amazing these artifacts are. (Too bad Santa Ana's such a long way away, though. Otherwise, I'd go see this exhibit...)
  8. If I may offer a thought on this matter, I prefer designs that offer the opportunity to view an array of thumbnails. Sometimes I have the time and inclination to click through an entire slide-show, but I do not always have the time nor the inclination. Having an array of thumbnails to peruse gives me the opportunity to see things that I might have otherwise overlooked. P.S. I'm not sure that Marko (a.k.a. CPRG) would take kindly to being a "Banner Queen". No sense in stirring things up first rattle out of the box.
  9. No prank reports from me. It worked fine. And let me say how thrilled I was that my milk carton image made it into the gallery.
  10. Yes, strange. Almost creepy in fact. I shudder to think of the possibilities. "What could possibly go wrong???" he says as he ponders what happened when Harmon discovered the use of symmetry in images (scroll back a couple years on this thread...) If only we could count on Harmon using his super-powers solely for good... Probably the great Neil Gow's "Fareweel to Whisky" followed by his later tune, "Welcome, Whisky, Back Again" When you've worn a kilt as much as I have, you learn that it's just not worth the effort to go off every time someone makes some remark about wearing a skirt. Far easier to let it slide and take comfort from the fact that there's a lot of women who think men in kilts are sexy.
  11. Hmmm...well I don't know but I could swear I've seen that frame somewhere before...
  12. This Just In... Got to be careful where you sign your name. It may just end up on the Interweb...
  13. Anyone get the feeling that someone has a little too much time on his hands? Surely the Honey-do Jar cannot be empty?

  15. It's no wonder you've got problems, Harmon. When Jodi's mad at you, you've ten universes of retribution coming back at ya...
  16. Sgt. Argyle should know -- being of Scots ancestry himself -- that those are hose and not socks and further, that if you bunch them, you don't have a place to stick your sgian dubh.
  17. It's not exactly common to find Yrium cards in caches these days (Max's Favorite Park being an obvious exception. But what is really rare is finding your own Yrium card in a cache. This one is called "Famosa Slough with Ranger Rick".
  18. Happy Birthday, Harmon! Just remember that, in spite of all the abuse you take from all those folks who misunderstand you, another year above ground still beats a year below ground.
  19. I would like to share an experience with you all, about drinking and driving. As you well know, some of us have been known to have had brushes with the authorities on our way home from the odd social session over the years. A couple of nights ago, I was out for a few drinks with some friends and had a few too many margaritas. Knowing full well that I may have been slightly over the limit, I did something I've never done before -- I took a bus home. I arrived home safely and without incident, which was a real surprise, as I have never driven a bus before and I am not sure where I got it from...
  20. Don't worry...it's just a stage he's going through...
  21. Always watch where you are going. Otherwise, you may step on a piece of the Forest that was left out by mistake. -- Winnie the Pooh
  22. I'm surprised there's no comments with regard to DTSMMBLB...
  23. Here's my recipe for fixing things: 1. Hit it with a hammer. 2. If that doesn't work, hit it with a bigger hammer. 3. If it broke when you hit it, then it needed replacing anyway.
