I have three missing travel bugs. I've only placed a total of 4 so you can imagine my dismay. Until I can get word on these, I wont bother to put out more because it is just too frustrating. Anyway, I have tried emailing the three people who last logged these TB's and have not recieved reply's from any of them. They are:
Speed Bug - taken by "Gee G" from a cache in New York on July 17th, 02.
Fair Bug - taken by "bubblesort" from a cache in the bay area on June 14th, 02
Tigger Traveler - taken by "gb_ja" from a cache in Iowa on May 25th, 02
Maybe we should create a special subject thread in the forum's just for the purpose of weeding out these travel bug kidnapper's. (or is there one allready?)
Come to think of it, I'm probably posting in the wrong spot since this is the northwest forum.

I did not even know about it until about 8pm because I had been geocaching the whole day. When I was coming home, I turned on the radio and heard about it then.
I was a junior in high school when the challenger blew up. Dick Scobee had been a graduate of my high school and the news crews were camped out at my school for a week.

Hi all. I'm gonna be coming out for another visit this summer to your area and would like to get a chance to meet some other geocachers while I'm there. My schedule's pretty booked allready, but I think it would be fun to get together for Pizza one night. I know it's away's in the future but thought I'd throw it out there and see if anybody's interested. It would have to be the evening of the 24th, 25th, or 26th of June.

Id have to say the Sacramento area for 2 reasons. First is that it's just more exciting for me to geocache in an unfamiliar area. I like to get down there once a year or so to see family and I alway's set aside a few days for nothing but caching.
The second reason is that it's much more adventuresome hunting for a cache when your also having to keep your eye out for Snakes and Poison Oak. Not to mention having to battle the blazing heat. I had a case of heat exhaustion the first day I went out last year. Add an element of risk and the excitement factor goes way up.
Also, (I know I only said two reasons so sue me) there arent alot of the cache and dash's in that area. Even the ones which are listed as 1/1's still required a bit of a hike. And there are massive amounts of cache's to find without having to travel more than 10 miles in any direction.

1) I'm gonna archive some of my older or more tired geocache's and then bring in a few new ones in much more scenic locations. I've allready started doing this.
2) Start remembering to bring my signiture trading items when I go geocaching. I alway's seem to forget them in the car.
3) Leave better clues when creating cache description pages.
4) Update my personal geocaching webpage. I've been neglecting it lately.
5th) And most important! I need to get off my lazy butt and replace a couple of log books which have been reported as full.

I had lots of fun while on my trip. If you include the I hate I-5 caches during the driving back and forth, then I logged 12 caches. I planned on doing much more but this Seattleite can't handle the heat. I managed to hide a few cache's in the area as well. Thanks in Advance to McIrish who has volunteered to babysit them for me. I managed to avoid the poison oak and the snakes (I did see a dead rattlesnake though) while I was here. I'd have to say that my favorite cache was Little Cache. I loved the location and the pond with the baby ducks. It was a very nice walk. Also, while there, I introduced my cousin, Tony, to the sport. He seemed to really like it. I am planning a trip to see my mom in Sacramento. I plan on hiding a cache while there but have allready found a cacher in that area who has volunteered to babysit my cache for me. I go down there once per year or so and will check it on those occasions. In the meantime, if it needs work he will do it for me. I think that if people plan on hiding cache's while traveling they should be responsible enough to pre-plan like this.

MRE's can be really good. Depends on which one it is. Most of them are great. If I found one in a cache I'd take it so long as there werent any cuts or holes in the outer package. Also, If you had one of the larger ammo cans then you could fit 3 or 4 mre's in it.

These are all excellent idea's. However, to avoid conflict and to respect cache owners, I think it would be a good idea to reverse steps #3 and #3a. The owner should be contacted first (before the cache is retrieved) Send him an email and give him a week or two to respond. If he does not respond after a given period of time then retrieve the cache. There could be several reasons why he hasnt been maintaining his cache. If his cache is snatched without giving him/her a chance to do the right thing, 
then it could and probably would make him feel ganged up on, 
and would probably sour them to our sport. 
I've seen this happen alot.

The other day my son and I were out looking for one which was supposed to be flush with the blacktop. We were looking at a telephone pole which was supposed to have a spike in it for reference and we found a disc in the pole. It seemed to be made of tin or aluminum. We ended up finding the real station about 10 minutes later, flush with the blacktop just as described, but covered with dirt so you couldnt see it.

I am a female cacher from the Seattle area and am going to be taking a trip to Rocklin at the end of this month. I am looking for a female cacher to go caching with. I am hoping to hit cache's and benchmarks anywhere between Sacramento and Rocklin I am hoping to cache for one or two day's while there. My trip will be from May 26 - June 3. It has to be on weekday's because I will be spending the weekend days with my mom who has no interest in caching.

I have been racking my brain recently over trying to come up with an inexpensive signature item. I finally came across a huge lot of small metal (Pewter or lead?) coins with an angel on one side and flat on the other. I bought the entire lot for a steal. I can engrave Seattle Seekers and a unique number on the back of each one. It is not as fancy as Moun10Bike's coins but it'll do the trick. And they will be fairly nice to keep in your pocket. I'll start putting them in caches soon.
It's too bad I get off work so early in the morning (6am), or I could just drop one off at the Grounspeak office on my way home from work. I work in Redmond and live in Kent. It would be right on the way home. Oh well, I'll try to get one in the mail. In fact, I'll send you my first one with #1 engraved on the back.
