  1. Awesome, thanks Jeremy! It's very much appreciated.
  2. Thanks, Jamie, I couldn't find that thread. Thanks for pointing me to it. I'll shut up now.
  3. We got the 300 mostly because of the electronic compass and the map capability. We use the compass all the time, but rarely the maps. We like ours very much though. It's user friendly. My only complaint is the joystick is sort of cumbersome and the waterproof rubber cover has ripped. We also have a cheap Garmin Geko that's just as good accuracy-wise but without the compass.
  4. A second vote for the Garmin 2610. It's the best thing, like, ever. We've had ours for about a month, (it replaced our stolen Garmin StreetPilot III, which we liked, but it had things about it we didn't love), and we have not found one thing we are not absolutely thrilled with. It's fargin fantastic. The features are great and easy to use, it uses a non-proprietary memory card, and it has a fast processor. We have a 2gb card that holds the whole US map, and half the country in topographical maps besides. It has voice directions, a great screen size, and it's easy to navigate. The software is brilliant, they thought of everything. I Love. This. Thing. If I had to choose between it and my husband, I'd have a hard time deciding. Well, it can't do the dishes, so I guess I'd have to pick Joe.
  5. I know, I know. I am a pest. But I am REALLY missing the search function. I miss it every day. Well, every day I log in, anyway, and forget that the search function is still turned off, and get frustrated. I can't find anything, and feel rather disoriented in the forum. Powers That Be, is there any chance at all that we will ever get the search function back? Please? Pretty please? I promise to remain a good paying member!
  6. Isn't it fun when you know you are at ground zero, but you also know the cache may also be 200 feet away? 200 above or below you, that is. I have nothing to add to this discussion.
  7. I think that's a perfectly valid idea for a cache. Word. I think that cache page could be great to write. I hope you do it.
  8. I'm with Briansnat. I am delighted to find a Chick tract in a cache and will trade for them, we have found two so far. That's some really good crazy. (Oooh, was that politically incorrect? Sorry). Anyway. Doesn't bother me, I would probably prune a little if there were like fifty of them just to make room if the cache was full, (same goes for nonreligious literature), but otherwise, it's not up to me, it's up to the cache owner to make that decision. If it were my cache, I would remove all of those things plus dirty/broken things and business cards. But that's just me.
  9. We have found several that have given us a thrill. The most recent I can think of was one of those flat magnets in an urban area. Also have found a couple of real rocks that were actually hollowed out. One of my favorites was a multi that consisted of a couple of bird decoys trying desperately to blend into the background, but we were too clever. Okay, it took us hours and cost us blood and body parts to complete that one, but we found it, OKAY!?
  10. That cowpie clock website is blocked by the netnanny here at work, citing "gruesome content". Heehee. That's gonna make me giggle all day.
  11. Congratulations on your new addiction! Fun, ain't it? I'd say that a dollar is appropriate. Now shoo, go out and seek some more, grasshopper.
  12. Hey, I just realized I don't get those anymore. *pout*
  13. Do the Powers That Be have any comments about this? *tap* *tap* *tap* Hello? Is this thing on?
  14. No, I don't care about my own statistics, I just wanted it to show up in the cache listing. Thanks for the replies, guess that answers my question!
  15. Whoops. Put in the wrong forum. How embarrassing.
  16. Okay, I posted this question the other day, but the search feature is still not working, and I just cannot find the thread anywhere. (I swore I left it here in this forum) I activated a Washington state geocoin, and it's apparently only trackable on Geocachingwa.org. Is that true? Is there any way to make that coin show up on the cache page? I can't see any way to do it. Can someone help?
  17. Any updates on the situation? I really do miss the search feature. A lot.
  18. Okay, I was able to activate it on the washington geocaching website. I guess this means the coin is not trackable through geocaching.com? Does that mean if I drop it in a cache out here in NJ, there's no way for me to make it show up on the cache listing? That's too bad!
  19. Hello! We picked up an unactivated Washington Geocoin on our trip to California last month, (score!) and I am having trouble activating it. I am entering the coin number and the activation code, but it is telling me that the coin is not in the system. Am I missing something or doing something wrong?
  20. The search feature is something I use quite a bit. Well. I did. I search for new posts, search for my posts, etc. It's harder for me to navigate. Since it's been down for a month or more, I feel pretty disoriented without it, to be honest. Some people may not miss it, but I certainly do. I was hoping it was not down there on the list of forum upgrade priorities. If that's the case, I'll be really bumed out. Anything I can help out with, powers that be?
  21. Since you can see the tail number of that plane, I was able to look up the cause of the crash. It's amazing what you find on the intenet. ---- NTSB Identification: NYC83FA125 . The docket is stored on NTSB microfiche number 22913. 14 CFR Part 91: General Aviation Accident occurred Thursday, May 26, 1983 in HAINES FALLS, NY Aircraft: PIPER PA-28-140, registration: N1316T Injuries: 1 Fatal. 22. Well, then, I'd say, absolutely, get one. We don't leave home without it. It makes geocaching more fun. Plus, you can download waypoints on it by converting with GSAK and using the Garmin software to import it to the GPS. So when you are driving innocently down the road, you miiiight just spot a cache by accident and you miiiight just *have* to hunt for it. I think they hold 500 waypoints. Did I mention we love the thing?
