  1. Thanks to all the reviewing team for your efforts. This is really good advice. I would like to take this opportunity to ask that this thread is not used to discuss the aforementioned group any further. This will only add fuel to the fire and give them the gratification they seek. Luckily their acronym is 5 characters long so this thread will be picked up by a search for anyone wanting advice. Regards Geohatter
  2. Thanks for the vote of confidence currykev but reviewers are better placed to answer this question. GAGB is probably the best place to start (as already stated) and then if you still haven't found out from local sources you can contact your local reviewer for advice but as MrsB has pointed out below they aren't there to tell you who to get permission from. 7. http://www.geocaching.com/track/howto.aspx This should be clear enough. However I will simplify it. You can log a trackable on it's page when you pick it up using the 'Log Your Visit' link When you drop one in a cache Log the cache and before you submit you should see a box asking what you want to do with any bugs in your inventory. Hope this helps
  8. You could wait til the person that dropped it logs is into the cache. I'd give it a week and if they still don't log it then I'd log it myself and effectively grab it from the last person who picked it up. If you give me the GC number it would help to give you more accurate advice. Oh and the bug number from the page NOT the tracking number off the bug

  12. Other suppliers of fishing poles are available.....
  13. I think you may have just opened up a very old and ripe can of worms. You are correct in stating that everyone plays the game in their own way. However, it is up to you to say whether it is a legitimate find as the cache owner. Most people subscribe to the notion that if the log isn't signed then it's not legitimate unless there is another way for the finder to prove they were there with a photo. There are cache owners out there that are extremely zealous when deleting logs of this type. I suggest you speak to/email the finder and ask them about it. Don't just delete the log as this can cause a major headache. I also refer you to the Getting Started page. See point 7 http://www.geocaching.com/about/default.aspx It is very rare that a geocacher won't have a pen with them but on odd occasions where I don't have one, I've taken a pen from a nearby cache and returned it. I've heard of others using sticks as pens with mud as ink. Hope this helps Geohatter
  14. Thanks Bear and Ragged I'm moving this thread from the UK and Ireland forum to the GPS and Technology forum. All the techies will be watching it.
  15. Looks like we're getting a little off topic and getting into 'How To' discussion which should be done in the GPS and Tech forum. BTW I don't know how I managed without GSAK. It may not be immediately intuitive but there's plenty of help on our forums and GSAK's own forums
  16. Wow...You guys really got off track of this thread. If you read up a few lines, my question was concerning if reviewers were local or if they covered a huge area. I was trying to understand how many caches a reviewer might have to review. I would have expected the "Moderator" to have read the question and post a reply instead of the response that was given. Groundspeak would prefer reviewers to be local but that isn't always possible. Obviously I can't comment on your reviewer as I'm not sure how big an area they cover. Maybe you should email them and ask. Sometimes reviewers have to cover vast areas and have their own lives to run. As you are already aware they are just volunteers. Please also be aware that there are many people placing caches all clambering for their reviewer's attention. Be patient with them and try to make it as easy as pssible for them to publish your submissions as each one must be checked a variety of different ways against various resources to make sure it complies with the guidelines. You can make it easier for your reviewer to get through your submission by providing as much info about placement, permission etc as a reviewer note.
  17. I am moving this thread from the United Kingdon and Ireland forum to the GPS and Technology forum.
  18. Well humphrey, one of those is correct but I'm not going to say which one
