  2. Just wondering who else finds themselves 'foul weather geocachers'. Now that winter is on it's way, I'm ready to spend more time outdoors. _ __ ____________________________________________________________ __ _ On my first day of school, my parents dropped me off at the wrong nursery -- there I was, surrounded by trees and shrubs.....

  5. I was at a cache yesterday which was at a beautiful site, but the graffiti really detracted from it. Then I remembered reading in a 4X4 magazine years ago an article from a guy who wheeled in the desert but hated seeinfg graffiti and was trying to figure out a way of removing it, without leaving a mark. What he finally came up with was to carry 'rock' colored spray paint, and try to paint over the graffiti and blend it in to the rock. Personally, I would be a little worried what someone would think if they came across you 'fixing graffiti', and if you would be as guilty as the graffiti artist. What do you think of the idea of carrying some rock colored paint with you and fixing the graffiti when you can _ __ ____________________________________________________________ __ _ On my first day of school, my parents dropped me off at the wrong nursery -- there I was, surrounded by trees and shrubs.....

Does anyone know what kind of antenna the Lowrance GM100 has, whether its a patch or helix, and what is the best orientation for reception? _ __ ____________________________________________________________ __ _ On my first day of school, my parents dropped me off at the wrong nursery -- there I was, surrounded by trees and shrubs.....
  9. Is there a way that you can search for a player and view their public profile and/or stats? I have gotten a few people involved recently, I have their login name, but I can't find a feature to let me view how they are doing. Anyone know how? I have steered them towards the discussion forums, but they are not particularly 'chatty online' type people - yet. 10. Thanks for the info. Can't wait to try this out. 14. quote:Originally posted by GrouseTales: So, how much does it cost to upgrade an Explorer to a GM 100. I currently own 2 GM100's and love them. A friend of mine has an older explorer and would probably be interested in an upgrade. I guess it depends on how you define upgrade. When I 'upgraded' I bought a new unit, and gave the old one to a hunting buddy. The 'upgrade' cost $180. I think there may be some differences in the display that would stop you from a software type upgrade.

  17. I have what looks like a bunch of mountainbike friendly caches in my area, along with some that are not too far away from places we travel regularly. I picked up her bike yesterday, and I already have the bike mount for my Globalmap100. (Anyone know what kind of antenna it has?) I plan on mounting it mostly horizontal. I also plan to use the handlebar mount on my Kawasaki KLX occasionally too, so that I can find my way back to where I parked the trailer, and can get an idea how fast I'm going when I go over the bars.

  19. My wife and I are getting new mountain bikes, and I have already purchased my GPS mount., Has anyone else here used mountain bikes for caching, and if so, how did it work out for you? Do you still do caches by bike, or did you kind of burn out on the whole approach? _ __ ____________________________________________________________ __ _ On my first day of school, my parents dropped me off at the wrong nursery -- there I was, surrounded by trees and shrubs.....
