  1. This is nothing new. When I found the cache over 10 years ago, I also found a crack pipe. If you want him rousted, call the cops.
  2. And you don't need any special software to get the PQ into your GPS. Mapsource came with your GPS unit. Upgrade it to the latest release (free), and it can directly read the PQ file, and upload the caches to your unit.
  3. I assume you know that the Submit button will be grayed out, until you've selected a log type, and entered something in the text box.
  4. That is a different script by Lil Devil. No, it isn't. The cause of the inventory issue is actually a bug in FF4, not the script. I'm coding a workaround.
  5. On second thought, maybe the world did end yesterday.
  6. I've added an .htaccess file to the server that should fix that problem.
  7. Sorry. I was looking at the version for the script that this thread is about. When you bring up the script manager, what version number does it have for the Log Maximizer?
  8. You might see something like this added to the site in the future. So far, my "Additional Maps", "Driving Directions", "Log Totals by Type", "Instant Hint Decoder", and "Waypoint Quick Entry" script functions are now incorporated into the site.
  9. You need to clear your browser's cache. It's installing a cached copy instead of a new one. From the menu - Tools / Options / Advanced / Network / Clear Now No good. It popped up first thing this morning. That would be expected, if you cleared the cache the day before. You still had the old script installed. If you installed the current version today, it should say version 02.30 in the script manager. Assuming it doesn't, try installing again, but instead take the option to view the script. If the version number in the script isn't 02.30, then the problem is with your PC or more likely, your ISP. Some ISPs do their own site caching to make their service seem faster.
  10. Thanks! And now you know how to rename it "public profile" and have that stick if you wish Until something else is added to the menu, then that won't work anymore. It's better to just let the menu option match the actual name of the page it takes you to. The script's i18n function is a good thing.
  11. That won't be added. I decided to only use links that didn't require profile identifier, since that information isn't available on every page the menu would be displayed. A separate "Custom" menu could be written to handle that. /profile/ doesn't need a guid to display your own public profile. Just go to http://www.geocaching.com/profile/ Ah, very good! I've always had it bookmarked, and it used geocaching.com/profile/?guid=[profile GUID] New release has been deployed with "User Profile" option added.

  13. It works fine under FF4. The only script issues are with the javascript native dialog boxes, and that a Firefox browser bug (already reported). It doesn't work fine. The script doesn't remember the auto-visit selection, the "trackables" section doesn't fold in as it used to, and the "submit" button never gets enabled after making all necessary selections. Thanks. I didn't see it before, because I rarely have trackables in my inventory, but happen to right now. That problem is yet another Firefox 4 JS bug, not a script bug. A collection of table rows should only TB nodes in it, but that broke in FF4. It's just a 1-line work-around to do a nodeName check. I've deployed an update which should auto-install for everyone using the script.

  16. That's rarely been the problem. Keyloggers, and viruses that turn your PC into a spam server, on the other hand...
  17. Release 02.20 - Minor update to compact the "Your Stuff" menu so that it takes up less screen space. Link to install update
  18. Release 2.1 available, with "upload field notes" menu item added, and option to turn off the "GCxxxx" default. Install from the link in the original post, or just wait for the auto-update to kick in.
  19. Amen. Love this one, though I always edit it to remove the "GCXXXX" and "GC" default values, which only get in the way. the name changed, which made it take a while for me to figure out how to do that, though!Second, I know scripts can be edited, and I could probably figure it out, but can someone tell me how I could add Upload Field Notes to the "Your Stuff" drop-down? That's a good idea. I'll add it to the next release, as well as an option to turn off the default "GCxxxx".
  20. The Waypoint Finder script has been updated, and the location of the input field changed due to the removal of the left-hand navigation strip. It's now added to the menu bar near the top of the page: As before, you can enter Cache IDs, Travel Bug/Coin IDs, and Travel Bug/Coin Tracking Numbers. And it still remembers the tracking number and fills it in for you when logging, so you don't have to enter it twice. New in this release is the "Your Stuff" menu, which is inserted into the menu bar right after "Your Profile". It gives you quick, one-click access to a number of pages concerning your account. Also, the script detects the membership level, and won't show Premium Member options if they aren't valid for the signed-on account. Finally, if you have the site set to a language other than English, the script will learn the localized name for a menu option when you first click on it. Since it's actually learning this information, it will work for any language added to the site in the future. You can install the script here. As always, you need to be using the Firefox browser (3.6 or 4.0), and have the latest Greasemonkey add-on installed.
  21. That's not quite right. It needs to match whatever icon has been set as the Unfound Geocache icon. Out of the box, that's set to the closed chest icon, but it can be anything you want, including custom icons you upload to the unit. When you go into the Geocache Setup screen, you can change the icons used to designate Unfound and Found Geocaches.
  22. In Texas, the law in question is called "INTERFERENCE WITH RAILROAD PROPERTY". You can be charged with this if you simply enter a RR ROW without authority to do so (though in reality, you'll probably just get a warning the first time), or if you tamper with or place an obstruction on the tracks or anywhere within the ROW. It's that part which concerns geocaching. Most judges will accept the railroad's opinion of whether or not something is an "obstruction", but it's pretty clear that leaving a cache could easily be considered tampering with the property. Severity of the charges can range from a misdemeanor to a 3rd degree felony, based on the circumstances.
  23. That's a test of consistency, not accuracy. You're only going to be able to get an idea of accuracy by using point with known coordinates, such as a benchmark.
