  1. The mustache coins are Trønderbataljonen 2013 (white) and 2014 (blue). They are the annual coins of a regional Geocaching organisation, located in the region of Norway where "everyone" wears a mustache. I have an extra for trade, if anyone is a mustache fan.
  2. Hi, I have enjoyed taking part in and even winning a couple of cointests in this forum. It is time for me to pay it back. I have run a few cointests in the Norwegian forum, but never here. I have spent some time wondering what kind of cointest I should run ... finally I have come up with a kind of meta cointest. I am mainly looking for you to be creative, but If I can inspire more cointests in this forum, I'll be very pleased. Question: If you were to run a cointest, what would the task be? You are allowed one entry per week between today and March 9th (max 3 entries if you start now). To separate entries from comments, please start your entries as follows: mamoreb's post WEEK 1: The winner of the cointest will be drawn me, by use of a random number generator. No one is obliged to actually run the cointest that they propose. The point is just to get a pool of ideas from more creative minds than mine. The winner gets to pick any geocoin from my trading list (see signature). *I might do a couple of trades between today and March 9th, causing the trading list to change very slightly. The trading list at the time of the announcement of the winner is the one that the winner will choose from. If I need to determine any other rules, I'm entitled to.

  4. In addition to the searchlist mission (as posted in the mission thread), I have received a couple of excellent pieces for my collection during the first weeks of this year: I am particularly happy to own a beautiful Hase & Igel geocoin!
  5. I am proud to present... The first search list mission photo! I got the notification from the post office on Thursday, picked it up later that evening, but needed a little while to present the arrival of the search list mission properly. The trackable from my search list is the Native Pegasus coin to the left in the picture. The core part of my geocoin collection is shaped animal coins, and Tsunrisebey designs play an important role. Very pleased to add another coin to my collection! I'm surprised and thankful for the additional contents. The Team Yanagi geocoin is an excellent design and concept, which I have admired since it was first posted to this forum. Very happy to own one! The chocolate is very tasty, I am having the first pieces as I'm writing. So... I guess this means that the signup for the next stage of the mission is open? How will we determine a deadline for registering?
  6. Please, are there any updates on this? Geocaches reachable during a stopover in Beijing? Will fly though Beijing this summer, would be very nice to do a geocache or two there.
  7. Nice cointest! Ladies Gold Canada Silver Switzerland Bronze Finland Men Gold Russia Silver Canada Bronze USA
  8. I'm in! Search list updated and available in the signature below. For me it makes sense that the "surprise coin" is sent back to yanagi. He starts the mission, so he has to give up one coin. And I guess that he will send out another coin to keep the mission going, once he has received a "surprise coin". I'm joining the mission hoping that I might, at some point, receive one of the coins I'm looking for. I don't collect all sorts of coins, so personally I am not very interested in receiving a "surprise coin" in trade for sending someone else something they are seeking, that I will be taking from my own collection. It could be fun to do a mission where each person sends a random coin to another participant, but I don't think that is this mission.
  9. I know this story! And the coin is very well done. There is much thought behind this design! I like many of the versions, especially the bare metal ones. I suppose those will be hard to get...
  10. My search list is updated: It has more than 20 coins, in prioritized order. Many of the coins are rare, but some can be bought in stores today, so I'm not impossible. Waiting excitedly for the next step!
  11. That has got to be the 2012 London Olympic flame geocoin. Never seen before, definitely interested in a trade!
  12. I'm slow at everything geocaching these days... but finally used an opportunity to organize and photograph my acquisitions from November/December: And since I like trains, here is a closeup of a new Norwegian coin:
  13. Sounds like a lot of fun! I'm in! Though, my search list is not extensive at this moment... I can probably do a bit about that by the time that this mission gets rolling, though.
  14. Congratulations on those beautiful, meaningful coins, and on what they represent! No coins for me either - friends and family are hardly into Geocaching at all. But I hope to receive a new Norwegian coin that I bought for myself, any time now.
  15. You are absolutely right! And you guessed the right coin too! You are next.
  16. Yes, really, I'm scared! Scared (and sorry) because I haven't found the time to study any geocoins closely lately... I really enjoy studying the richness of my geocoin acquisitions, and now I'm worried that I'd do one of them injustice. And scared because I'm currently on a laptop without my usual drawing software... What to do, what to do? OK, quick drawing of the most recent geocoin that I came across in the wild. I except a similar reception to that of yanagi.
  17. That has got to be the Unnecessary Bushwhacking geocoin!
  18. Excellent idea, I particularly love the non enamel side.
  19. What an amazing collection! I'm happy to have contributed to it!
  20. The annual compass rose is a must have in my collection. Was too late for the LE version, but I'm looking forward to seeing how the other ones look in real life. This type of cut out design is one I haven't seen very often.
  21. I also open this page daily. I have FB, but I prefer having all geocaching related things here. I don't post here as often as in the past, not sure why... But almost every day, I take the time to read through the new posts. Perhaps we should come up with some activities to encourage people to open this forum more often. Maybe it is time for me to host my first cointest?? I think it is! But in two weeks time. Check back here to join it.
  22. I agree. But can I help? I don't make my own coins, but I sometimes catch some new releases here and there. Should I post a topic here, with info + a pointer to the place where they can be ordered? Or should that decision be up to the creator?
  23. I am always ready for a math trade! Some very exciting weeks.
  24. Let's start eating before nevadanick shows up ILYM Too late ... ... :drama: .... but I did bring more for the party. Just need a volunteer to make it ... Volunteering!
  25. Hurray, I was helped to buy the two missing carousel lions on the e-place! New list: 1. Carousel horse: Gold/white/purple glitter (LE) 2. Colonel H. George Cachington Unicorn Geocoin 3. Compass rose 2005 4. Gecko98 geocoin 5. Earth Turtle Oceania: Tsun
