No offense meant to Span24 cuz nearly everyone that knows me knows that I'm usually the first hot head in the room. But I think that you are elevating your bloodpressure over approx. $15-20. And possibly alienating some really great people that could be potentially great friends. I know...its the principle...again it was probably only around $15-20. I get ripped off for more than that every month in healthcare, taxes, gas and other misc. At least you finally got your coins. The only thing I usually get after I pay a dr. bill is another bill saying they didn't charge me enough. And yeah I do know how you feel about ideas not being used. Do you know what I did? I came up with my own idea and Prairiepartners and I made it ourself(Indiana micro basketball). I have to say that I really like it but...we didn't ask a single soul for input on it. wow, that's weird for me to not be the hothead is that a sign of old age??? my god I have to find something to be pissed off about!!! ...I got it I'm pissed that its going to be so phreaking cold tomorrow for Trailmix 8 yeah thats it I'm pissed about the cold weather coming back p.s. sorry about the rant. it's 1a.m. and I can't sleep cuz I'm soooo excited about the trailmix in 9hrs.

Just a thought but Indiana University-Bloomington might actually rent out its fieldhouse to us as a group... There is also the Monroe Co. fairgrounds which have a tremendous amount of indoor facilities There are: plenty of hotels nearby plenty of camping in nearby dnr properties(paynetown and brown county) plenty of free camping in the hoosier national forest plenty of restaurants and 2 wineries plenty of local award winning breweries plenty of hiking caches plenty of urban ammo can caches(thats right urban ammo cans!) a superior 5/5 cache(if I may say so) GCTK66 If bloomington doesn't sound good to anyone then my vote would be somewhere in indiana since it hasn't been in Indiana yet.

I agree with 501 gang. I never even knew there were canals in indiana. It seems to me that we are picking something very obscure that not many in Indiana can even relate to. It also seems, please don't take this personally, that the ideas for the coin are only being chosen from things that are more common in northern indiana...please remember that i'm not attacking anyone but pointing out what I feel to be a skewing of "accepted" ideas to things in northern indiana. I know that someone is going to say something about there being a canal and a covered bridge in souther indiana and thats not exactly what i'm talking about. What I and I think 501gang is saying is that we don't feel that canals should be the focus of a coin that is supposed to be representative of indiana. On the other side...IF there is to be a series of coins that were to represent the entire state eventually then those "ideas"(note:not designs) should be decided on now so that we don't continue to debate about what represents indiana. ex. 5 coins over 5 years year 1: covered bridge year 2: canal year 3:indy 500 year 4:basketball year 5:"crossroads of america" I just think if the coins are slowly progressing then maybe we should come up with a list of topics that we'd like included on coin designs and then VOTE on them as a community instead of it being decided on the basis of how many people are posting positively on a particulr design. After topics are decided on then we can come up with MULTIPLE designs and then vote on them. I understand that this still probably won't be satisfying to everyone but at least it would be fairer to all those involved Another idea would be to pass the project off every year ex. year 1: someone from N. Indiana year 2: someone from E. Indiana year3: someone from S. Indiana year 4: someone from W. Indiana year 5: someone from Central Indiana this would also lend more towards representation of the whole state Also I agree with others that a state coin should definitely be trackable... otherwise its not a geocoin and can't be sold through forums. And no I don't think we should be making $ but we aren't the only people that will be wanting these coins we have the entire geocaching community to think about too, many of which are hoosiers at heart. I personally think that it would be a huge mistake not to make this years coin trackable. Most people(that are actually going to be buying these coins) have switched to buying trackable only coins. If they don't end up trackable we could be losing a huge portion of our buying base(financial backers). I do support the idea of limited editions of coins but vote that like kentucky it should be limited to one percacher and available only at indiana events(in northern and souther indiana). I would also like to see some kind of border around the edge. I think the mintage should be at least 1000 to start because of the HUGE price break that comes at 1000. As far as what actually goes on the coin I think we shouldn't pick something that is obscure but something that applies to the WHOLE state. Maybe the Hoosier National Forest that covers a HUGE portion of the state and has a TON of geocaches that are legally place(sorry charlestown those are my thoughts so far! lol david bikinibottomfeeders
