I agree with these two things. Some have called me immature and others have judged me before. Most of which didn't have the first clue about me or what it is that I do. I've even been called unethical. I think judgement is a very powerful tool that people don't always think about before doing especially since the only way that many of us know each other is through the thoughts that we type on these forums.

So there's one opinion - how do others feel? (I realize that many are offline right now) I agree with this because there is no guarantee that the potential third owner even knows that it is a "no sell" coin.

I think that there is another point here that also needs elaborating on for us unethical people out here. I feel like everyone is saying that if someone recieved a "strings attached" coin it would be better for them to trade the coin rather than selling it. Is this correct? question 2: What if the original coin owner and I had a falling out(not about coins) and are no longer talking in order for me to trade it back to them. Would it then be okay for me to trade it to someone else? Disclaimer **These are both hypothetical points and are no way related to the current dibacle(sp) that I encountered. Ethics and morality are just a couple of hobbies of mine I guess you could say.

I don't agree with that either. But that is my personal opinion. If I traded coins(lets say non trackable U.S. dollar coins) for an original geocoin with a tracking number on it from Groundspeak and turned around and sold it on ebay. Should they be allowed to cancel the tracking number or even retain the original rights to the tracking number?

The agreement that I remember making with JNJ is that I would not trade the coin to AG. I don't remember them ever asking me not to sell the coin. If they can forward me a copy of an email where I agreed to not sell it then I will gladly pull my auction. But you don't own the coin. So it really isn't yours to sell. You are selling a coin with no tracking, because JnJ has said that he was going to disable the tracking number. I do own the coin. I traded one of my coins for it. And exactly what point is being made by those that disable a tracking number when someone purchases their coin? I mean really, you have someone that wants your coin in your collection bad enough to pay for it. They will most likely not get rid of it if they paid for it.

I have never made light of the fact that JNJ still retains tracking rights to the coin. I have been very forthcoming with that info on my auction page. an honest question: If what you say above is true then did I give him one of my coins in exchange for him loaning me one of his? Correction: I traded for an activated coin that I did not have right to the tracking number on the coin.

I just figured I would pre-emptively post here on the forums about this issue. You can weigh in your opinion if you want. Background: In early 2006 I traded Jeep'en Jumpers one of my bikinibottomfeeders gold geocoins for his trackable gold coin. At the time his only concern was that I not trade it to a certain someone we all know has an affinity for the #7. Situation: I currently have placed his coin up for auction on ebay. I have my reasons for selling the coin but would like it known that I am not only selling that coin but many others in my collection. Today I recieved an email through ebay accusing me of stealing his coin and threatened legal action and disgrace on this website...over a geocoin. While I know that many of you would never sell a coin that was traded to you, I believe that you cannot retain ownership of something you traded to somebody else. In closing, while some of you may disagree with me I'd like to remind the whole coin collecting community that in the end we are talking about pieces of metal that have no intrinsic value. I believe that if people got as worked up over poverty and other political issues then we could probably come up with better solutions to most of the problems that our nation faces. Thank you very much. My wife and I wanted to have fun with our geocoin. We really put a lot of time and effort into creating it. I mean we spent 2 whole weeks looking our tails off for that tail... I bet that was really difficult work looking at all those bottoms! you bet it was. I had to go to the eye dr. afterwards cuz I kept seeing two of everything

If I remember correctly personal icons weren't being allowed at the time. Thanks DD for clarifying the 500 coin thing. I can't remember if they even had the PC prefix at that time.

Hello All, I normally would not post something like this but I wanted to clarify some mis-information by someone about my geocoin. The person said that there must have been over two hundred of my gold version made which is incorrect. The numbering on my coins is a little different than most would expect. OK - I made the GPS a little darker, and the sky a little lighter for better contrast. Here's the avatar sized image... and a bit bigger so you can see it.... I just noticed that one of my bikinibottomfeeder coins actually made it back into a cache and was wondering if people were interested maybe they could post here when non-trackable coins end up in caches. the coin was placed in GC13XQK

we have a cacher here in indiana that is a local newscaster: tvnewsbiz He seems really down to earth when I see him at events.

My record is similar to another poster. I placed a cache I appropriately named "Stealth Cache" which was completely gone before the first person to look for it could get there. Guess I wasn't so stealth like! I didn't even bother replacing the cache.
