I travel hours for a FTF especially in different states if I know there is a chance for me to get it especially in nice weather.

CO placed her first cache and 6 cachers including myself went to find it only to find out she hasn't placed the cache.. The next day I went there and found it and In my Log I wrote, "Well 40 minutes each way for this cache and obviously cache was just placed this morning so total time for this FTF was 160 minutes. Seriously I'm thinking this cache will not last due to the noisy Chinese restaurant there. TFTC" She has sent me a nasty message because of that. "Did somebody hurt your feelings when you were starting out and you are out to show the world now? Or you just hate people wasting your precious time as you race around town running people down as you speed along to see if you can beat your buddies to the next new listing? Really." Am I at wrong with that or this lady needs to read the rules of placing a new cache?

Came upon this topic and have to add my 2 cents on the screen.. I dropped my no more than 1.5' onto a rock. A nice scratch... I don't get the video at all..

If that is the case then the way to get even is to beat T.Y. at the FTF game, not put out a cache that may or may not have been in jest that can be interpreted to have one obvious meaning. T.Y. lives near the center of the state of NH where the majority of caches are placed and has a chance to get FTFs if he wants to put the time and effort (and diesel!) into getting them. I've been FTF on 175 in the last 9 months alone and although I'm sure T.Y. mutters under his breath when he sees my name first in a logbook, as he has several times, we still co-exist at the weekly get-together at Milly's where everyone has a great time exchanging good natured barbs face to face. I can't condone, at all, putting out a cache that calls out another cacher. That is really bad form, in my opinion. However, is it really necessary to enumerate your count of FTF's in this post? Does it matter in the context of this thread, other than "you find a lot of them, and this apparently annoys some?" Listing this just comes off as bragging, and might be considered mildly obnoxious. Taking the high-ground just makes the person who created the F.U.T.Y. cache look like even more of a bad sport, in my opinion. You know, you bring up an excellent point there, MR. B. TY could have just come here and said "he's ticked because I have a lot of FTF's". But he enumerates them in a specific time period, and talks about having one in Virginia, and hoping to get one in Florida. What the heck does getting a Florida FTF have to do with someone making an FU cache about you in New Hampshire? Now that you mention it, there is what can be considered the bragging that turns many people off about the FTF side game, written all over that post. Sorry, TY, but I do agree there!. Hmmmmm,, Actually I just mentioned it here.. Never do I brag about my FTF's at events or when I meet people.. I don't even update my profile on the number of FTF counts that I have or when I log them when I find them.. So, am I bragging?? I don't even think I'm coming close.. Good news is, I did get 2 more today.. LOL.. ..

Hey, This post is about me . Today I have been told about this topic and at the start it did bother me but heck, I guess being FTF (250+++ in 20 Months) will indeed tick a few people off.. I have sent a Email to Groundspeak in which they did reply but I don't see anything in the near future that they will do anything about it. I also sent a email to the CO, a short one liner stating that I know your telling me to FU.. He never responded.. So what a guy to do?? I guess live with it and will start placing caches out there with F.U.C.S & K.M.A.C.S and whatever I could think of.. Bet it wont be published.. LOL I will be hitting Florida soon.. Hopefully I will be getting some FTF's there.. Last year, I got a FTF in Virginia Beach, that made my day Later

Why don't you just delete all of your GPX files and reload your PQ's..

Besides having my 450, My wife and I both have a BB and we also use CacheSense. BUT BUT BUT, I don't understand where some of the above got their prices.. its $9.99 for lifetime.. All updates are included.. I use my BB / Cachesense now mainly for FTF.. So while I am out and about and get the email stating one was published, I load it up on my BB and Cachesense leads me to be FTF...

I have Cachesense on my Storm 2 and also on my Wife's 9650 Bold.. It works awesome.. While I did upgrade to a Garmin 450, I use my BB for new Caches that just been posted..

OK DOKIE.. Moving on..

I recently went and tried to find a P&G.. Since everyone posted it took them 5 secs to find it, and I couldn't after about 15 minutes I called it quits.. Since it was a easy find for everyone, I called for a "Need Maintenance".. Owner went and checked on it and it was gone and he permanently archived it.. Why Perm I have no idea.. But, could I still claim this as a "Find" or just move on.. Thanks..

Maybe I dont understand the question that good. BUT, Why not just create a Pocket Query name "Found" and just check off "I have found" and than when you get it, load it up to your 400.. Works for me all the time..

Found another name that is not in use.. So next question is, will my finds be transferred if I change the name??

I don't really like my user name.. I used it to sign up to this site and now I want to change it to a more appropriate name for us. Problem is, someone has that user name. I know I can add like a number or something after it if i like but, why cant i request the administrator to remove him from the site for a few reasons.. 1. He is not a premium member (Ok, not a good reason) 2. He only got like 17 finds in 11 years (Ok, not a good reason again) 3. Last time he/she logged on was in May 2002 (Now thats a good reason right?) Now over 8 years of inactivity should be a good request right?? Thanks

I am sure there is a way to hack that to unlock the GPS. There is for just about any phone. Do some googleing... Nope. There isn't. The 8330 has been unlocked since December, 08, so long as you've upgraded to 4.5. Verizon hasn't locked their GPS's down for several years now. If you still got one of those, it's really old. The last smartphone Verizon had locked down was the xv6800 (Windows), which they unlocked with MR2. Well, I went ahead and bought the Trimble app. Does not Work on this beand new Verizon Blackberry Curve. The GPS fails to get a signal on both network assisted and on gps signal. According to Geocahching.com "The software will not work on the Verizon Wireless network. More... " So I see lots of posts that is can work- and other posts that is can't. Anyone that knows how it can work- would love more info You stated Brand new phone.. So you have the 8530??? Black face not Silver right?? Did you go into options, than GPS and made sure its not set for 911 only???

My wife old phone was the 8330 which she had since June 09, and had the latest and had 5.0 OS in it before I retired it. There r tons of forums and posts that has tried to have it hacked and failed.. My Mother in law got one just before it was retired from Verizon and a friend also and none of the GPS 3rd party apps work.. Not even Poynt or Yellow pages apps. Verizon tech support also confirms no 3rd party GPS works on the 8330.
