  1. I was wrong... Briansnat got it. Longnosed Leopard Lizard, female version.
  2. I think it might be a Sagebrush lizard (Sceloporus graciosus). Sometimes the females during breeding season will have exaggerated color along the neck and sides. You could check with Chuck Peterson at ISU in Pocatello, he is the State Herp guy.
  3. I love BeeLineGPS which can be found here at VisualGPS. Best $30 I've ever spent. I have also tried BackCountry Navigator, Cachemate and those are my next favorites. But 98% of the time is spent using BeeLine.
  4. Me too, work as a GIS and Remote Sensing analyst for a university somewhere in Idaho.
  5. do you have a Palm or PPC based PDA?
  6. That's the other one I use and I like it too. Stay tuned for BeeLine, I have a hunch that maps are coming very soon.
  7. BeeLine is built for geocaching,it stores the webpage info, logs, hints. I agree when you say GPS Dash is in a different league than BeeLine... it comes no where near to BeeLine. Beeline is tops in my book.
  8. BeeLineGPS on my Dell Axim works great! Tried many of the others and while I like BC Navigator and Cachemate, the don't have the bells and whistles that BeeLine does, plus its easy to use.
  9. Has anyone seen or heard if the Be There contest by Magellan will be held this year as it has the past 2 years???
  10. Big-AlH is correct, BeeLine GPS is the way to go. It has a blank map now... but a little birdie told me that it will have mapping features (roads w/street names) very soon. Stay tuned!
  11. Bought a Geo Metro, now we get 58mpg HWY, won't affect caching too much now.
  12. Can you point out what the difference is between this and Google Maps???
  13. I'm a GIS analyst in real life and so I'm naturally interested in the ppc mapping programs for geocaching. I've tried all of them, GPSTuner, GPSdash, Mapopolis, etc. IMO, Beeline is the best GPS/Mapping program for geocaching. It has all the bells and whistles you could possible need for geocaching. It imports logs, decrypts hints, etc. Another little known program that is fun to use is Backcountry Navigator.
  14. Hold your stylus on the cache icon in the map view. 4th item down is GEOCACHING, click on that and then hit SHOW GEOCACHING INFO. Hope this helps.
  15. I thought this was interesting. If you load this FILE and then load the GC.com's cache locations GE file, you can see where the proposed land for sale and caches are.
  16. I should add that with BeeLine, you don't need the other software such as Sonar, because BeeLine lets you see the cache info/logs within the program. One program, much easier than switching back and forth between 2 or three programs.
  17. I tried both BeeLine and Tuner... Hands down, BeeLine is the way to go. It is truly built for geocaching.
  18. My kids (11, 3) love to go find the caches! I also do GIS and use it to map my routes for caching as well as create a database of the caches I've visited or will visit. It's addiciting, you won't regret it.
