  1. Did any one other than myself think, for a few seconds, that Gill Grissom retired from CSI to go geocaching? Him in the jungle with a GPS in hand in the last scene of last weeks CSI.
  2. I was on the jeep website and noticed a link to geocaching. I had never heard the term before and clicked the link to see what it was. That was almost 4 years and 600 caches ago.
  3. Around here you don't have to worry too much about covering your tracks. No body else is out in the woods. It's a good excuse to do a little light off roading the jeep on the state forest roads. One thing that I have found to work good for finding ammo cans under snow is a heavy duty telescopic magnet. It locks on pretty good when you make contact with the can. I was out last night for my first cache of the winter in the snow.
  4. Quite often roughing the surface before you apply the epoxy will help with adhesion. Try 80 grit sand paper or maybe a nail file.
  5. Automotive Brake Cleaner wil knock them right out of the air. Spray some in the pipe and they will be dead on contact.
  6. I had ome of these types of caches. You can use a scrap piece of sign vinyl on the back. Completely impervious to the elements and can be got cheap at most sign shops.
  7. We have 3 Jeeps 1 wifes 2000 WJ daily driver 2 my 99 WJ daily driver city cache mobile 195,000 miles 3 my 97 XJ 5" lift, 33" bfg mts, 4.10 gears, Locked bothends, Front 8000 lb winch. Made for slow crawling and back country caches.
