  1. I pride myself on being open-minded and have read the thread... But still I feel cannot see the community as a whole liking the idea - I feel for the minority who promote the idea. But if the overwhelming majority don't dig it and it impacts their playing the game I would respect the masses and not make any more power trails. If it did not effect the community in any way it would be a different story. Nay.
  2. No, you can get the whole of the rest of Africa in two PQs - there are currently about 1008 active caches. To generate a PQ which covers more than one country, keep CTRL pressed while you select the African countries one by one. (This is a trick I learnt from Jors!) Brilliant! Done... works like a charm! And here I was multiplying a 10th of SA's total by 51 (last time I checked) to get an estimate of how many days the PQ would take to run! Thanks...
  3. Like this suggestion? I must admit this is where my idea came from. I was hoping to hear some other solution. The suggestion is good has has 3 of my votes. It will make my search greatly more powerful.
  4. Hello there I have been geocaching with my son for a few years and now I am planning a trip to Ireland and also to Germany within the next year (work related sadly, but will have some free days to go caching!). Now I made a pocket query listing all the caches within 100m from the road (for the Germany trip) and I needed to break the route in two as there where near 1000 caches on the list! I need a better way to select out the best caches without reading all the logs (some of which are not in English) Because I have limited time I want to only do the caches which are likely to be very good in and which are in the cities I plan on visiting). So I searched with each city and arranged the caches by number of favorite points - I found that the favorite points did not correlate with the quality of the cache as described in the logs. To get around this I opened all the caches with more than 5 favorite points and clicked the little arrow under "favorite points" for each cache and looked at the "Favorites/Premium Logs". When this was high the logs seemed to indicate that the cache was good. It would be superb if the "Favorites/Premium Logs" value was part of the new XML format and available in pocket queries. We could then use GSAK to list the best caches along a route. What do you think?
