  1. I can't seem to get email notifications, of newly published caches, to an alternatve email account. The Primary email is the only one recieving notifications. My alternate email account has been 'validated' in the account details, but i can't see a way to send notifications to BOTH accouns. Seems like an either or.
  2. How do I setup an alternate EMAIL address, so that newly published caches can be sent to BOTH the email address i setup the account with as well as an alternate address? Under the Profile listing the alternate email address is listed as UNVALIDATED. Attempts to resend email validation don't seem to do anything?
  3. tried this again today on a road trip. (again, i'm using HTC Inspire - Android Geocaching App). Geocaching app, and Navigator app would not lock gps. I tried using Google Maps, and for whatever reason, after a short 'blinking' radar icon - it locked !! Google map updated real-time and tracked my driving. Loaded up the Geocaching app and lo and behold it worked !! NAvigator as well. Trust me i hadn't changed any settings, but somehow googlemaps 'kick-started' the GPS. As far as the Android GeoCaching app: - Compass is poor at best. Couldn't get any degree of stability on bearing, nor distance. - Most of the time, the accuracy, was equal to, or greater than, the distance to the GZ ?? (i'm not expecting GZ = zero, but close would be nice.) - couldn't figure out how to enter coords manually ! Real pain on a multi - had to take a DNF after stage 1.

  5. in the location settings, only options i see are: use wireless networks : checked use gps satellites : checked phone finder : checked I'm assuming these to be correct?
  6. Hope this is the right forum. I've recently purchased an HTC Inspire 4G - great phone as far as capability, screen size and the like, but i'm not having much luck finding the smiley's ! downloaded, and paid for, the 'official' geocaching app for Android HTC, and although the basic functionality is there, the darn GPS compass and accuracy are HORRIBLE ! Nearby finds show various local caches, but the distance to any given caching doesn't change!! I can be driving, or walking, and the distance is constant. The accuracy is like 100+ ft off ! HTC forums indicate the HTC Inspire had an 'aweseome' GPS, better than iPhone, but i can't say whether it's the app of the phone at this point so i'm looking for some guideance. There aren't many settings that i can tweak.
  7. Appreciate your prompt response, as I am entering today's caches. Did not know this option was available and will use it in the future.
  8. I have a travel bug that's page shows it has been taken to other caches with the words "took it to". I do not see this as an option and would appreciate help on how to indicate where I've taken it before I drop it.
  9. I'm a fairly new cacher and have only been getting the smileys in and around the US. I'll be travelling to a few cities in India, and have been looking up a few GC's. My GPS app is Geocache Navigator on a BlackBerry Bold, which has worked great here in the U.S. I believe I will have GPS service while in India, but the question I have is regarding the coordinates. All the US based caches show N xx xx.xxx by W xx xx.xxx yet the India caches coords indicate N xx xx.xxx E xx xx.xxx. Do I need to do some coordinates coversions here, or will the "W" flip to "E" when i'm there because i'm half way around the world?
