  1. Mine is really simple I just like to use up batteries....
  2. How long like 30 or 45 minutes...hehehehehehe
  3. Yup, Although I am relatively new to the caching experience I received my first deleted DNF log today. I use the DNF's as good ones to look for because they are not found but perhaps not missing. I have several caches like that see: "Thanks Larry 2 GC13E3H" log of my/our find after 3 DNFs and a temp. disable listing, that have been found.. Oh yeah, I found it and it was tough.....
  4. Yes and if and when possible get a letter from them stating how well its working. That way other cachers will have something to use for other park guardians.....
  5. been there and done that see 1 Amboy crater GC14EG5 Found the cache in fine shape and still there. But after returning home could not remember cache address and finally found it and logged it as found. Then sent email to owner letting them know its still up and working.. but, alas its still temporarily unavailable.
  6. IMHO, I would place it and ask for comments on the cache page. You will find out what people think... LOL
  7. I have the brochure from http://www.geocacher-u.com/resources/brochure1.pdf that I carry when I am out caching. Because it can be difficult to explain other than I use multi million dollar government satellites to look for tupperware in the woods answer.
  8. Get out! I find them all the time. Longest one was lost almost 2 years to the day, and was dumped in a cache by an old-timer who rarely logged caches online. Just a couple of weeks ago, I grabbed one that was moved 500 miles unlogged, although it was only "lost" a couple of months. As far as what the original poster said: You might be located in the area of a remourseful repenetant traveler thief who had come to his senses. Now if only all those stolen geocoins would mysteriously re-appear. I don't know why I typed that, it was just in my head for some reason. Now that they have the discovered option for bugs just log any you see at group meetings and some may get back in circulation.
  9. I have found many without stickers, geo cache sheets, no swag, or anything else except log sheets. So depending where you are you may find exceptions to all of the "rules". good luck with your new hobby
  10. Then be sure to log your gps into the cache so I can go pick it up....... lol
  11. I drive a Black (camo for night work)Toyota (Scion) xb great car/truck. You should see everything it hauls, and it gets great gas mileage.
  12. Saw this site forgot how about two months ago and got interested lurked and lurked then went and bought a gps machine went out today and found first (my first) site. Fun stuff drove arround and looked for sites. I can't beleive how many sites are within a few miles of my house. more to come for me. Sure hope I am not addicted already I think I may have some kind of mental disorder. I think this may be better than sitting in front of the TV and watching Jerry Springer LOL.....
  13. woops, just bought mine.... etrex legend from sportsmart and they made a mistake... thanks alot it only cost $137.00 with a 25% discount. Used it today and found my first geocache .... got within 5-10 foot and started looking... wow I was looking for a major indicator and it was almost under foot.. then I saw the marker and was I supprised I had already went to two (2) other sites and they were full of muggles so I left. Wait one of the muggles was probably a geocacher looking for the same site. I should have asked him what he was doing. Did not think of that until now. Maybe I will remember that next time I go out to find a cache... LOL had a really good time, almost fell off mountain, remember to wear proper shoes (boots) next time... Thanks for all the fun stuff and wish I had started this sooner...
