  1. This was reported to the engineers and they rolled back a recent website update. We hope it resolves the present issues.
  2. Thank you for the suggestion! We recognize that the current Owned List of geocaches could use some improvements, to help support cache owners. We welcome a discussion of how we can improve this feature for you, and the rest of the community. Can you provide some specific examples of what you, as a cache owner, are trying to do and what problems you are encountering? There may be solutions beyond just updating this list, and so it helps us to know what you, as a cache owner, find limits your ability to find information or take action on your caches. In the meantime, you can use the Search page to create a list of your "Owned" caches. It includes only the active caches, and you could save this as a Bookmark and it will refresh each time. Example: =Mengi"]Mengi's owned caches Cindy / Frau Potter Geocaching HQ
  3. Thanks for reporting this. We have notified the engineers and they are troubleshooting and will get things working again soon.
  4. We have reported this issue to the engineers and hope for a solution soon. Although we don't provide customer service support for Waymarking, we do receive bug reports and take action on cases like this one. Thanks for reporting it! Cindy / Frau Potter
  5. On Thursday, September 29 at 2pm (Pacific Daylight Time), Geocaching.com will be offline for about 1.5 hours. Convert to your local time here. During this outage, we will be doing a significant upgrade to our website servers. This means that Geocaching.com, the forums, Waymarking, Wherigo and API (including all geocaching apps) will be unavailable. Normal service will resume after the maintenance window.
  6. It's a great idea to host a CITO for your community. I hope it's successful! You will get the BEST turnout if you plan the events to coincide with our souvenir weeks. We have a souvenir week coming up in September - September 17 – 25, 2016. Geocachers seek events because they can earn a digital souvenir for their account.
  7. Sorry for the delay in providing an update. It is a very busy time. The engineers are looking into it and we hope for a solution soon. We don't need any more examples. You have proven that there is definitely a problem. This is a PM feature, so we will work to make sure it is fixed. Thanks for your patience. Cindy / Frau Potter
  8. Thanks for all the reports. We don't need any more examples. We will dig into it and hopefully find a fix soon. Cindy / Frau Potter
  9. Thanks for the reports of problems with Instant Notifications. We made a change to the architecture of our notification system on July 26. It appears that those changes resulted in some UNintended changes. To help us troubleshoot, it would be useful if we had examples with usernames and GC codes. For example, a GC code for a geocache that was published recently and resulted in emails being sent to _______ [specific username] but not to ___________[specific username]. We are trying to determine if notifications are successful in certain circumstances, but not in others. Thanks for your help in identifying the problem. Cindy / Frau Potter
  10. Thanks for the report. We have confirmed that the link is no longer working. We have notified the engineers and hope for a fix soon. Cindy / Frau Potter
  11. Thank you for your report. This bug was active for a few hours earlier this week. The engineering team fixed it as soon as we became aware. Notifications for unpublished caches are no longer being sent. Cindy / Frau Potter
  12. Thanks again for your patience. The issue should now be FIXED. Hopefully the gremlins won't visit us again. Cindy / Frau Potter
  13. Thanks for all the reports. We have reproduced the problem and the engineers are working on a solution. Cindy / Frau Potter
  14. Oh, this is bad news! I will alert the engineers. If other people are experiencing the same errors, please let us know if it's just the cache details page or any other page. Thanks!
  15. Thank you all for reporting this issue with Internet Explorer and the mysterious "long-running script". The engineers deployed a FIX recently. Hopefully it will help to resolve the issue and help you return to geocaching! Cindy / Frau Potter Geocaching HQ
  16. Sounds like there is a logging issues, possibly with trackables mostly? It has been reported to the engineers and they are investigating now (not in the morning, as I had previously reported).
  17. No it isn't. It's almost midnight! Fair enough, I was aware of our users all over the world. I should say, "Now it's time for ME to go geocaching....I'm heading out to hide another cache in the sunny Seattle sunshine." Sleep well.
  18. This weekend, an individual created multiple geocaching accounts in order to spam users through the Message Center. We wanted the geocaching community to know that we have banned all accounts associated with this spam activity. It is no longer necessary to report these spam accounts to Geocaching HQ. We recommend geocachers use the "Block User" or "Hide Conversation" features in Message Center to hide the conversations from these now banned users. Do NOT click on any of the links included in the message. It may involve malware. Even though the accounts are now banned from Geoaching.com, geocachers may continue to receive email notifications resulting from these messages for a few hours. At Geocaching HQ, we will be discussing ways to prevent this from happening again. Now it's time to head out and go geocaching!
  19. Thanks for the early reports on this spammer. We have several engineers working today to resolve this issue. We are actively banning the accounts. But there is no longer a need for geocachers to post usernames in this thread anymore. Geocachers will receive email notifications resulting from these messages for a longer period of time. We will be discussing ways to prevent this sort of automatic messaging of geocachers. In the meantime, we recommend using the "Block User" feature in Message Center so that you don't have to see the messages from these users. Now it's time to head out and go geocaching!
  20. Thank you for reporting this problem. We have notified the engineers and hopefully will have a fix soon!
  21. Thanks for reporting this issue! I have notified the engineering team. We'll try our best to get this active again ASAP.
  22. You will find the quick link to Pocket Queries has moved under the "Play" Header. I hope that helps!
  23. Since this is a guideline issue, please suggest to your friend that he write to "Appeals" directly. You can do this by going to www.geocaching.com/help and choosing "09. Appeals" as the category for the question. We would be happy to help you!
  24. Hello everyone, As a representative of HQ, I wanted you to know that I've been notified about this situation and will work directly with the reviewer to help resolve and get this cache published. I agree that it's okay for the cache page to be in Greek. To understand the cache description, a reviewer can use resources such as Reviewer Notes, Google translate or the Greek translation team to get help. This reviewer is new to reviewing caches in Greece. Sorry for the misunderstanding! Cindy / Frau Potter
  25. Thank you for notifying us about this problem. We will fix this javascript issue as soon as possible so it works for all languages. In the meantime, anyone can press "Continue" in order to complete the rest of the cache submission process. Cindy / Frau Potter
