  1. Yes my Oregon 300 with mapping used to look like Chris's middle shot until I upgraded the software for Oregons, so now apart from one icon of the cache that we are headed towards, it looks like his right hand shot. I do not use Lord Elphs icons either, just the norm. I also load from GSAK using the macro. So I am of the opinion that it was something in the upgrading that has taken that asset away. What did happen last night whilst playing around with the mapping was that when the Red Pin point passed over another cache in the area the icon showed, but as soon as the pin was moved it went again. So they are there obviously just hidden for some reason. Therefore at a loss of what to do.
  2. That is quite interesting as I have zoomed out to a distance of 2 miles as you have done and nothing! I usually have my map at 800 feet to 0.2mile as that is how we use it walking around. We recently did the 'A Series for your Pleasure (GC296WV) which has some 24 caches in a distance of 4.8 miles, the map should look like a mine field, but it only shows the one that we are headed for despite the magnification. Another thing that I notice is that on your photo the distance is shown to cache and pointer. On mine I simply have + & - at the top right hand and x bottom left, which one touches to return to main menu where one selects compass to have the pointer and distance to the cache shown.
  3. I have Garmin Discovery OS Maps, which are great, but only the cache that we are headed for is shown on the map not any others close by. So one could be sitting amongst hundreds, but have no idea! Before I updated the Oregon it would show the other caches in an area. So what are Garmin going to do is what I suppose I'm really saying, or has anyone a solution. Apart from going back pre-update of software that is.
  4. I presume you mean Oregon and not Colorado and how does one enable? Advice would be appreciated.
  5. Am I right in thinking that currently only one cache at a time is shown on the OS Maps. So if you are doing a series it does not show the others just the one that you are going for and that Garmin are addressing this little problem for a fix?
  6. Thanks Chris - Updates and new things always appreciated.
  7. Thank you, as usual you have been most helpful and my problem is no more. The wonder of this forum never ceases to amaze me. Cheers!
  8. Does not work like that: In my In box I have: noreply@geocaching.com [GEO]Pocket query: List 1 So i open that and get: Your pocket Query titled "List 1" has been generated.................view and download completed PQ's at http??www etc. If I open that it simply takes me to my list of PQs. What am i supposed to do then?
  9. When I used to just have 500 caches from a PQ I simply opened the file, right clicked and added to GSAK and it asked if I wanted to update, said yes and that was it. How can I load a 1000 caches though as the format is different and I cannot seem to get it into GSAK. Updates are not a problem as they of course are less than 500 so come into my e-mails in the old format. Its just loading a 1000 ???? Any assistance most appreciated.
  10. I also have the Oregon Chris, but this is when I transfer it to 'Her Indoors' 60csx. For example I have just received notification that there are two new CUBA caches (Counties used to be Avon). I will send them from their cache pages to GSAK using the GPX Exchange. They will load onto GSAK, but when I then update 900 caches onto the GPS (Sending waypoints to GPS) these two will have no hint, but just say unknown!
  11. OK forgetting the Loc File, The GPX exchange still says on clue/hint...unknown, yet there is one on the cache sheet any idea how to fix?
  12. Evening, When I transfer either Loc Waypoint file or a GPX Exchange File to GSAK from a cache sheet I do not get on my GPS when uploaded any type of cache, ie; Trad, Multi, puzzle etc, no container and no hint. It just says 'unknown'. Is there a way of obtaining this info into my GPS when transferring from Cache page via GSAK?
  13. We have an Oregon 300 with mapping (OS) for the South of England and its a lovely piece of equipment, but still not as accurate as the wife's 60 csx, pinpoints within inches, it really does. One just has to hope that it was placed by a similar GPS though !! To be honest the only time that the Oregon comes out is to read the cache sheet/hint and look at the map for confirmation. The 60csx has Toasty Mapping, the hint and accuracy. So the choice is yours!!
  14. UKgeocachers, brilliant service and merchandise. Gets my vote.
  15. How do you connect to it Munkeh? If your not in a MacDonalds or the like.
  16. Owning a Mio 550, does this mean that if I was to purchase one of these cards that I could also browse the net in the comfort of the car perhaps and look at Geocaching .com for new caches? Apart from the card at £20 is there additional cost, ie PAYG, Monthly etc?? You can tell that I am no techo can you not. I just use my Mio for Tom Tom and Memory Map both on seperate SD cards and then contacts on the Mio. Waste your going to say I feel sure, but if its all you know what else can you do. Horses for Courses!
  17. That's the one......Whizzo as find that really handy. thank you and Edgemaster.
  18. Mid and North Wiltshire........there's hundreds upon hundreds of all different types, cache and dashes, circular walks, interest, historical, towns and all within short distances and if that is not enough you can hop to Hants or Gloucestershire where there are thousands more. Spoilt for choice to say the least!
  19. Father Christmas was good to me an I have and use the Garmin OS 1:50.000 and also all their National Parks 1:25.000. Brilliant to say the least. They did cost, but well worth it and have certainly enhanced my Oregon. However still find the 60 CSX that bit more accurate, but no OS maps regrettably. on this we use Toasty mapping.
  20. More than happy to wait as they were so useful.
  21. How can we get our Greasemonkey scripts back functioning again, I miss them already !!
  22. Try again as they say............... now lets see! This is another cache No did not work.
  23. Hopefully that has worked using the 'Blorenge' tip above. This is a quick shot taken at Turville where they filmed part of Chitty, Chitty, Bang, Bang, The Vicar of Dibley and also 'Went the Day Well' after which the cache is called. Great cache and a lovely place to visit. Now to see if it worked.................................... Not right on size though, where has one gone wrong....................???
  24. Yes its probably an 'Old Chestnut', but how does one upload/download a photo onto this forum without setting up albums that everyone can see on the net somewhere, where do you get a URL from, putting them on cache logs is so easy it seems in comparison.
