  1. Sounds a nice series especially as there are many Holy Wells about the UK. One of the nicest that we have ever Geocached at was 'Lourdes of Wales' GC2NXKR, which was placed by Team Marzipan. Its the well of St Winifred and excuse the pun...Well worth a visit. We visit everytime that we are in North Wales. Good luck with your series, will be interested in seeing your format when you put one out. Presuming the heading is going to be Holy Well 1 - B)
  2. Tend to agree and the cache itself would more than likely have to be offset from the plaque itself, maybe out of sight even thereby enabling the physical cache to be placed somewhere ideal not too far away from it. A clue does not have to be forthcoming from the plaque, the plaque is simply a 'Traditional' cache for the sake of interest. Can be nano, micro, or regular. Leaving the hiding place to dictate the size. We have a volunteer up above who says that that would maintain the records, so anyone wishing to start it off with Blue Plaque 1- ? B)
  3. Was just an idea that I threw open. Just felt they would have a bit more going for them than anymore on housing estates behind street signs!! Only joking!.......
  4. We have the very popular series of Church Micro's, but is there a similar series of 'Blue Plaques'. There are thousands around the country, granted the majority appear to be in towns and cities and not everyone likes urban caches, but some are in villages! Would it not make for an interesting series? Recently did a small series containing some blue plaques in Bournemouth and found it most interesting. The series would of course have to have a generic title such as the Church Micro, something like 'Blue Plaque 1 - Inspector Aberlayne'. I only ask as they would at least have a little interest, history, and information to pass on. A main catalogue of those put out would need to be maintained as well! Just something to air as they say.....
  5. Perhaps it would be worthwhile you attending the Wiltshire Event at Devizes in Wiltshire, where there is always a large turnout of all sorts of Geocachers. Especially as this will be the Christmas event as well. There are thousands of caches around Devizes as well, so you could easily get people Geocaching. Many cache and then go to the function. have a look at the attendance at previous functions and the broad spectrum of people from so many palaces attending. Just a suggestion !
  6. Great that so many Geocachers joined in and did the Anniversary proud. Some nice ones named there as well. Excellent Stats, congratulations.
  7. Just went to the GAGB Website and read the latest copy of 'Seeker'. Have to be honest, did not know that it existed, the magazine that is. Was a good article about the Church Micros and enjoyed reading about them. Must also say that the photo of the Cathedral in the quarries was excellent as well. Did another church micro that was released last night, so they are still going strong that is for sure. :D
  8. Well Sod's Law as they say. Two Church Micro's were published late last night, one 4.6 miles away from me and the other 4.8 ! Incredible after that long circular trip yesterday. Oh Well That's Life as they say. <_< Got both of them this morning though to keep up the tally!
  9. A total of thirty seven miles driven in order to locate and sign the log of a Church Micro on their Anniversary, but worth it. Also did another twelve caches as well whilst out and about. The two counties beginning with 'S'. Somerset and Suffolk really do have some lovely Church Micros. We really found the round towers in Suffolk and Norfolk quite different to those normal square towers in the Southern counties. Anyway that is it Challenge achieved, sorry aim not challenge as it was not a challenge as such.
  10. Sadly its the thirty six mile trip for us today! Still the sun is shining and there will obviously be the opportunity to get one or two other caches as well. Just hope that it is not a DNF or it will become more of a sixty mile journey!! Perish the thought. Right off on the Pilgrimage we go. Good luck to all Church Micro finders today. If you get one let us know! :P :P
  11. So how many new ones have gone out since last week and the news about the Anniversary tomorrow, The 7th November 2012 ? Still hoping that a fairly near one goes out for us tomorrow and that the Reviewers release all those awaiting release soon!!!! or its a eighteen mile drive to locate one. Thirty six miles all round for a 35mm film cannister! It's a great hobby !! or are we just sad?
  12. Had never seen the CM Notes page before, quite interesting to read. Realised there was a list and stats of finders, but not the other notes. Still hoping that someone puts out a nearer one for next Wednesday. I know that there are lots in Suffolk and Somerset, but that is a long way to go! :D
  13. I never realised that one could ask GSAK for say 'Church Micros' and it would produce a list ! Always thought that you had to generate a Pocket Query first and install this into GSAK before any searching or filtering. Or am I wrong and have not been getting maximum use out of my GSAK? It also seems as if my nearest Church Micro is about eighteen miles away...Gosh! Hope someone puts out a few more , ideally nearer!!
  14. Have just noticed that there is an opportunity to have your Geocaching 'Handle' appear in a Special statistic list that will be going out after the 7th November 2012. Wednesday the 7th November is the fifth (5th) Anniversary of the Church Micro Series. There are now some 3,500 of these set all over the UK, quite an achievement to say the least. So have you a local one nearby to find on the 7th, or have you done them all. Considered putting one out to join the ever growing list for the Anniversary? So there you are Wednesday could well be a little mass Pilgrimage for Geocachers who like to join in with these types of challenges. Now where is my nearest unfound Church Micro? <_< <_< <_<
  15. We have had one on our motorhome for about four years and has been logged four times! Not really worth the effort in our opinion. A simple Geocache symbol would be better value at least you would know that you have just seen a fellow Geocacher.
  16. Loaded the new Memory Map app to my IPhone, but sadly I only have the UK in MM version 4, so not compatible!Such a pity as it looked good, will just have to play with Geoknife. :(
  17. OK £125Final Offer. Interested?
  18. OK £125 Final Offer ! Interested?
  19. Have you tried MWSnap3, take a photo of anything on your screen and then place that photo into you GPS (if it accepts photos)Its brilliant and works for me, not just Geocaching either
  20. Now a Very Special offer at £150 in order to clear........ Interested? Contact through Geocaching. Thanks :)

  22. In fact now I have logged out and signed back in the topic is showing an icon for 'Moved Topic' the black arrow pointing left, so where does one go? If I click the arrow or title I end up on page 50 again!
  23. Thanks for all the assistance, I'm still doing something wrong as when I open up Forum, go to Garage Sale I still only have the last page as page 50 ?? Think I'll try logging out and signing in again perhaps that will also refresh. Thanks all the same for guidance and advice.
  24. Done that and I can now see the three entries, went to edit, but cannot see a way of deleting two of them, is there a way? Thanks for your assistance was certainly appreciated.
  25. No, failed again! Seems to be going onto page 1 of 1, but where not a clue.
