  1. Sorry, your cache is not my responsibility. If you can't maintain it then don't hide it.
  2. I revisit caches all the time and I either log a note stating such or I do nothing. And that works well for me.
  3. Wrong. Your signature is the minimum requirement for a paper log.
  4. These are my numbers.. Favorite Points: 1510 Awarded Points: 689 Remaining Points: 821 I am not stingy but only award them to caches that deserve it. One thing is for sure, some of you above ^^^ sure seem angry about the awarding of points.
  5. It may not be there and annoying if not. Just be sure you (the collective you) have checked the entire log front to back. In spite of it irritating 50% of you, I've been known to sign any open spot I found on the log minimizing how much "rolling and folding" has to be done to put the log back. There's is no rule that I am aware of that says I have to follow some order on the paper. Obvious my philosophy applies more to those evil micros that are everywhere and less so to larger caches where there's an actual, you know, log book.
  6. My favorite is.. "hidden joe-schmo style".. while visiting any locale foreign to me. Who the heck is joe-schmoe and how would I know how he hides.
  7. Doesn't that initiation happen when you view the premium cache? ;-)
  8. I suck at using the quoting.. there was nothing nefarious about it.
  9. Interesting. I didn't think my statement was that unclear but I suppose it could have been. I am an IT guy with a background in chemistry.. certainly not a wordsmith. I meant, a map filled with many multifaceted puzzles. I don't like multi-layered puzzles. And even worse are a bunch of multilayered puzzles littering my map that I don't want to solve for various reasons. LOL.
  10. I think the risk is being exaggerated somewhat. But personally I wouldn't worry so much about locking the cache shut but locking the cache in place.
  11. Still two months to go but thought I'd check my goals since someone refreshed the thread.. 1. Attain 1000 multicache finds (~200 to go) - SUCCESS 2. Complete the Wisconsin county blackout (3 counties to go) (it's not my home state) - FAIL 3. Get to 1000 counties found cache in (~185 or so to go) - EPIC FAIL 4. Add two countries to the found list - 50% but likely to end in FAIL <<< The Ireland versus Northern Ireland topic was my demise.
  12. I think the easiest way to conclude this ridiculously lame thread is just say.. If you need more favorite points, go find (10) more caches.
  13. I am 100% unequivocally against this idea.. even though I despise 5 star multifaceted puzzles.. that block entire swathes of the map. Don't we have enough stinking rules? Jeez.
  14. I found this back in 2008. Unless you like 4 digit GC caches this one would not be on my list as someone passing through town.
  15. I liked the audit log on the VERY few caches I set to PMO. However, it won't change my life. It was more or less useless in pointing out cache maggots anyway.
  16. I am not quite as cool as Chuck, but almost.
  17. I've solved a fair amount of puzzles in my time. Not that I have some innate mental ability but purely based on the length of my geocaching history. But I mostly gave up on puzzles when the local puzzlers spent the last few years trying to out do each other in terms of difficulty. No thanks. I don't mind a brain challenge but I am no good at reading minds. I give every puzzle five minutes of my life and that's the limit.. period.
  18. didnt work. Mark waypoint is not anywhere I can find, outside of the main screen.. which I was trying to avoid backing out to. :-(
  19. Interesting. I never noticed the flag "Save/Mark Waypoint" function there before. I am going to try it this evening to see if that does what I need it to do. Too bad I lost so much multicache history because I was trying to cut corners. :-( Thank you.
  20. Yep, I've been using this sweet thing for two years now and I still can't figure this issue out.. When doing a multicache and I used the Enter Next Stage function, I cannot figure out if those coordinates get saved.. anywhere, as a waypoint or other metadata, AFTER THE FACT (marking as Found, DNF, etc). I like saving historical data and my issue is not making it easy. I've checked each of the gpx files generated by the device and cannot seem to find anything. I realize I can use the Create Waypoint function but I am trying to avoid extra steps, such as naming the point. What am I missing with the "Enter Next Stage" feature?
  21. The lower 48 states of the U.S. is approx 4300km wide.
  22. Wow, wishing harm on a fellow human being..
  23. But what can they possibly do with that information.. so what if you look at a cache listing. I look at dozens of them a day.
